You don't have someone come to an event as part of the entertainment and then pull the rug out from under them like that. It's really crass what Gootecks was trying to pull there.
 
That crowd sucked, it was pretty obvious that combo and jago didn't want to play eachother. We lost out on what could have been a really cool end to it all with justin vs combo.

Even though I like gootecks he was being a real dick in this situation. I understand that jago was being an asshole to him and ross but just be the bigger man.
 
Gootecks probably will be kicking himself for the shitty end, because he wanted the event to be GOD LIKE, but unfortunately it won't reach that level.

Solid stream, only a minor hiccup at the start for lag, so good shit Spooky. Solid commentary from chen and david. The matches all went like I thought they would, and weren't that hype for me aside from Jwong's set to see his IF, and to see Combo's gdlk Nova.

Next time they need to do a better job of setting up closer level brawls, not complete blow outs.

Good event, but room for improvement in the future.
 
I hope this is motivation for Mike Ross to actually hit the lab for once.

You know.. actually learn how to play ULTIMATE Hulk and not vanilla "st.H" Hulk.

Anyway good shit, great event, great experience, lots of hype moments etc.

Can't wait for the tech glitch patch.
 
Gootecks just needs to not bend to the crowd next time around. All that at the end was unnecessary, especially since Jago still came out on top.

That said, def can't wait for the next one.

I like Mike, but I kind of get the feeling that he is not giving proper respect by putting himself out there when he barely played the game in Vanilla version.

The guy needs to be IN DER day in and day out if he wants to hang with the beasts...

Fact is, the whole Jago vs. Mike Ross thing seemed idiotic to begin with. It was overmatched in favor of Jago. But I still say West Coast was a bit unfair to expect Jago to fight whoever of their choosing at the drop of a hat.
 
Respect lost for Gootecks, even Combofiend was ready to bolt after the revengeance match was being talked about. Mike Ross needs to fucking put the time in to redeem himself. His WNF showing was decent, but its pretty clear that he expects way too much out of the way too little time he puts in.

Not at all.. I'd give Chris G advantage though because he seems more comfortable with UMvC3. They are of pretty equal skill though, beyond a reasonable doubt.

Also, its tough picking between two of the most hype players outright from each coast. I would kill for Chris G vs. Combofiend match, but we might not get it until EVO.

Whoa, whoa whoa. Mike Ross is *absolutely* scraps in MVC3. He's far from being one of West Coast's best players in MVC3. I think the Coast bias is a little too strong in you.

If this were Street Fighter I would agree with you on Mike. Also, Knives is apparently only jumping onto the tourney(streaming at least) scene and is pretty fresh.

Comparing Mike and someone who is still a bit green to "West Coasts' best" sounds a bit silly eh?

I am sorry but saying that Mike Ross and Knives are some of the best of the West coast in UMVC3 is bull shit. Jago beat 2 players who don't usually qualify top 8 at WNF.

This EC vs WC dick riding is getting stuffy in here. If Jago beat an established WC player like FChamp, Jago, Viscant, Fanatiq, Clockwork or Combo at the event this might be a discussion.

Couldn't agree more. And like I've been saying - Jago is sponsored. He's basically the face/image of Finger Cramp. He made Finger Cramp look good when he bodied the shit out of Mike Ross, a match fought per agreement. And then to say, oops - hey, fight one of the best Marvel 3 players in the world against a hostile crowd after you just did a 5 match - alathon?

And what's worse is Jago is going to take shit for this. Shit's borderline slander.
