why the hell isn't shit like this THE most posted in, rage filled thread in the forum? is what color mario's trousers should be more important? do we really not care at all?
 
I said it before and I'll say it again: I just hope other countries don't go this direction as well. I'm positive that our governement won't be as unreasonable as yours though.

Didn't know this thread existed. I called my senator others should have too. Anyways, I don't think that this will pass.
 
I've signed multiple petitions and made multiple calls to representatives, but I just feel that it's in vain seeing as how most(probably all) of the people that are voting in favor of this bill are being bought off. Still it never hurts to try though.

To be honest, I didn't even realize that this was what this thread was about and had forgotten that this was the title for the previous thread. The thread title should have more in it to bring others here.

Seems like there are almost more non Americans posting in this thread. I'm Canadian and really worried about the implications this will have on everyone.

Reminds me of the debate we had in Canada a while ago about the internet monopoly we have over here and how they were trying to convince people with blatant lies and untruths.

I cannot believe that this thread only has 2 pages. It shows what priorities people have on this forum when something like a trailer for Metal Gear Rising has a crap ton of pages while this, something that could end up shutting down even NeoGAF has not even reached 2 pages.

Is Wikipedia still going through with their plan to shutdown during this? Maybe NeoGAF should shut down for the duration as well. That seems to be the only way to get people to actually care.

With that said, fuck anyone who believes that content producers should have no channel or method to protect their content.
 
As a US citizen this worries and sickens me, but like everything else going wrong with the legislation in this country, an individual like myself just feels so helpless and despondent in the face of mega-rich corporations and their hold on the weak-minded politicians we have employed at the moment.

This country stopped being a democracy decades ago. I feel no pride for my land. I feel no love for it. I just feel disgust and dismay.
 
So what's going on with this shit now? I think the title should be labeled a bit more bombastic since this stuff is really fucking serious.
 
A few days ago here in Germany a law for blocking websites (Access Impediment Act) got revoked (it was passed, but never used). I hope SOPA won't pass either. I don't want any country to be in that situation.
 
So according to Rep. Waters, any arguments against this bill is a waste of time and that they should move forward. This is ridiculous.
 
So these people haven't listened to experts, have no idea how the internet works, and don't want more information and only wish to move it forward.

I hate being an American sometimes...
