By far my favorite of X-Force was
The raising of Kid Apocalypse to be superman. Such a nice reference to good guy boy scout origin.
I cannot rave about Uncanny X-Force enough. Probably the best run I've ever experienced in superhero comics, no lie.
The pace is brisk, enough happens in each issue, and use of reader's perceived knowledge of the medium and other pop culture to just display things in one page rather than waste several is the kind of master-stroke writing I want to see more of in comics.
If only the trade was out by now I would have bought it for all my friends as Uncanny X-Mas Gifts. Do they ever do consolidated run trades of like 1-18?

Batwoman 4 and Shade 3 were two of the best comics I've read in ages.
If you woulda told me I was gonna see a tasteful lesbian sex scene in a comic book yesterday I would have laughed at you.

"As we enter 2012, it's kind of a period of transition for me. It seemed a good time to end some old things I've been doing the whole course of my career as I move into some new things. People have responded well to my Wolverine stuff, but I want to go out with them still feeling that way." -Jason Aaron
Fuck!
Eduardo Barreto died too.![]()
Is X Force 19 still shipping next week?

Jawmazing Remender interview re: Uncanny #18.

This confirms the blood sample from Kid Apocalypse thing from issue #4, as well as the Warren looking person/thing at the end is clearly not the Warren we know.
You guys have sold me on Uncanny X-force...any chance this latest story arc will be collected into one nice hardback edition any time soon?
A pity shit like X-Sanction and X-MEN VS AVENGERS could encroach on anything lonform at all. Stop giving Jeph Loeb mainstream bookwork, for the love of god.

Psylocke looks like she's been though the ringer here. How does this awful art keep getting onto covers?
didnt opena just update her costume and get rid of the obnoxious thongkini last story arc
oh well never separate a comic book artist from an ass shot
Well I'd say Hickman's shit on his own foot bringing Johnny Storm back so soon, but with big team books like WatXM and UXF, theres always a danger lurking there of outside interference. This is the same company after all that forced through the editorial decision to fuck with like 20 years of Spider continuity on something of a whim. Loeb has already irreversibly fucked with 2 books I loved either killing them dead or taking the wind out of their sails so they'd never really get back to form.
Hopefully sales for UXF are speaking for themselves.
Plus, these days, any crossover stuff lives in its own crossover mini.
good god uncanny x-force!! that omnibus can't come soon enough. the pay off and wrap off to 18 issues was so good AND it set up new stuff too. Bendis can learn a thing or two about writing from this book.
Question:is Sunfire dead?
Batwoman 4 and Shade 3 were two of the best comics I've read in ages.
The James Robinson writing the Shade is NOT the same James Robinson that recently had a run on Justice League. I refuse to believe the quality of his writing can vary so wildly.
And Cat Woman. The Invisible Woman refused to appear in the campaign. Ads are for the Associação da Luta Contra o Cancer (ALCC) in Mozambique promoting, of course, breast cancer awareness. Maybe by not showing the superheroes faces, the non-profit organization doesn't have to pay licensing fees to Marvel and D.C.? Or maybe they're just hoping the ads slip under the radar. Body copy reads:
"When we talk about breast cancer, there's no women or superwomen. Everybody has to do the self-examination monthly. Fight with us against the enemy and, when in doubt, talk with your doctor."
This campaign will almost certainly bring in some metal at next year's ad awards shows. If the agency can prove they ran. What am I saying? They won't have to prove anything. Ad agency: DDB, Mozambique. Rub one out, nerds.
For art on this arc, Albuquerque is also changing up his approach, and Snyder was both surprised and gratified by the results. "Rafael is my brother in arms. In terms of creators, he and Jeff Lemire are my closet friends in the business," he said. "In this story, he wanted to do something more like a Geoff Darrow where the details are all throughout the background and define the era of the '50s. The appliances and the cars and the homes and all that Norman Rockwell stuff all fit into the background. It's always there. So his art is much more detailed than you saw before. It's not the watercolory stuff in grey wash you saw in World War II. It's all hard inks, crystal clear. And the covers were all his ideas, too. I had wanted to do something like Pearl serving up a severed head at Thanksgiving dinner like Norman Rockwell, and he said, 'Why don't we do all the covers like ads?'"
American Vampire hits the 50s and Scott Snyder tells us about it. More minis coming in 2012 too!
