I didn't know they gave out stunt awards, too.

Me neither. Although I think they're embarrassed about it. They announced them like 10 minutes before the main nominees, so it wouldn't be on TV and they're probably hoping no one notices the mention in the press release. Haha!

Game of Thrones is nominated for Best TV Drama & Peter Dinklage has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in the 69th Annual Golden Globes.

Paul Giamatti, "Too Big to Fail"

"American Horror Story"
"Boardwalk Empire"
"Boss"
"Game of Thrones"

lol. Not a single network series nominated for best drama.

Needed Spartacus: Gods of the Arena and Sons of Anarchy (best season yet), though, and isn't American Horror Story supposed to be a "trainwreck"?

Hopefully GoT will win.

I feel bad for some like the actors like Maisie and NCW who are going to get overshadowed by Dinklage.

I really think Maisie is in prime position to take off as best supporting actress for the show. If she performs like she did in season 1 it would be a damn shame if HBO doesn't support her like they did dinklage

Plus, she should be getting more screen time in season 2 than season 1, judging from the books.

season 2 spoilers
Judging by the fact that she her story expands much more and how loved her character is and is arguably the favorite female character of the series she has a lot to work with.

It all depends on if HBO wants to hype up Dany as the lead actress or give that to Cersei they nominated her but didnt even send maisie for consideration which was really stupid given the performances

People still care about tv award shows? They ignored the wire entirely. Those awards might as well be a pile of dead skunks.

I care in the sense that it is a) fun to watch the awards and see the stars of your favorite show win and b) it gives more exposure to the show. I don't think anyone else is putting more stock into it than that.

You probably missed the last Emmy thread. I think some of the posters cared more about the fucking award than the actors did.

I think Sean Bean should get some awards love for his performance. At least a nomination for best actor would be nice. I think people dismiss him because they think "oh he's just playing another fantasy sword guy lol".

I just started AFFC and so far it's not half bad. I'm actually enjoying it. I thought it would be terrible from what everyone said. It's slower, but, that's to be expected considering what happened last book.

Randyl Tarly is pretty cool. he may be sexist, and harsh, but he does sound like he knows what he's doing.

Wrong thread dude.

Game of Thrones definitely has a shot at winning this. Sucks that it's a Golden Globe though and therefore meaningless. Still the Globes did have the decensy to give my much beloved the Shield the award for best drama so many years ago. Although that was for its first season and then the show went completely ignored in its later seasons when it went from cop show to masterpiece.

But I didn't spoil nothing.
Questions about the later books tend to lead to long digressions that aren't particularly relevant to the tv show. Also, just because you didn't spoil anything doesn't mean that other people will properly tag their responses to your query.
I just wanted to know why it was considered bad.
Please just use the other thread. It's an active thread that plenty of book readers frequent.

Okay. I understand.

I went with Roy Dotrice for the audiobooks. I'm so used to his voicing of characters that its a bit odd to hear people in the show

Yeah I had that as well. He was good there where a fair few mistakes with pronunciation and what not but it was still good. Accents where a bit all over the place but didn't mind it.

Man, wtb some Season 2 info. With casting announcements and filming done, news is sloooooooow to trickle in. We probably have to wait till the Luck premiere in Jan to get a new trailer too.

Apparently some new behind-the-scenes thing aired on Sat night. I've heard about it from a few people who just happened to catch it. I'm looking into it with HBO to see what it was and if it will be made available online at all.

HBO has been playing the In Production feature from November a lot recently, but I haven't seen anything new.

Yeah, I thought that too at first. But I got an email from a regular commenter who says he saw it and described something that was clearly different than the In Production video. So, unless he is lying, there was something new.

It seems strange that they would just air it unheralded on a random Saturday night though. My contact at HBO was also confused when I asked about it, but she is looking into it for me. Maybe it was a screw up by those who run the promos? Dunno.

Hopefully I'll hear something soon.

Heard back from HBO. Something new did air on Saturday night. They hope to have it online tomorrow. It is on HBO On Demand right now. It is entitled "Notes from Belfast" and shows us glimpses of Brienne, Melisandre, Stannis, and Jaime.

Yeah, really strange that they would just air that video out of nowhere, but apparently the on-air team didn't coordinate with the online team and so no heads up was given and the video didn't make it online. They should be good to go now though. Obviously I'll post about it as soon as it is online.
