I wonder if EA or WB (whoever has the movie license) will make a game for TDKR. I remember that one interview with Oldman about the cancelled Dark Knight game.

TELL ME ABOUT THE RABBITS--AGAIN

I doubt it. Some WB exec had an interview about that, and they said they will no longer schedule WB movies and games to release simultaneously and will treat games as their own release, non-film tie-in. The success of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City is what prompted it.

Probably not. They're doing Lego Batman 2 though.

yeah, but wasn't there a crappy Green Lantern tie-in game?

so judging by the trailers. it's pretty obvious both Alfred and Gordon die in this one.
nolan should top it off with Bruce dying. if he has any real balls (game of thrones season 1 spoiler follows)
he'll give Bruce the Ned Stark death and have him go out in a dishonourable way.

No offense Jibril, but I'm pretty glad you aren't behind the story

none taken.
gordon and alfred are still going to die though.

edit:
also, bruce won't die, obviously. but that's just to please mainstremerz like you.

I finally found a link to the trailer that isn't down. Yeah that football scene...pretty cheesy and stupid but the rest seemed cool. Has everyone seen the trailer yet in this thread or should I post a link?

what is with this whole "nerd logic" that the main protagonist must die in the final installment of the series?

the hero has died at the end of so many stories. it's overdone and the way it's handled is usually over dramatic.

"solid snake must die in mgs 4!" "jack bauer must die if this is the last season!"

you sound like someone who just wants a tragic ending to everything because you think it's more "cool" that way or something.

At least three of them were in the movie.

EDIT : at least, all of them were. I only have a doubt about the one with the tumbler.

None of those are in the film. It's because these trailers are made before the final cuts have been decided for the film which is why its funny when people say Hardy ruined the missile launch shot by flinching. Heck, even the way joker shouts 'hit me' in the trailer is different in the movie.

MGS4 is a bad example; it would have been much better and actually pretty poignant to some degree if he'd blown his head off when he stuck his gun in his mouth, given the physical and mental anguish he'd gone through. In fact that's exactly what Kojima wanted to do until he pussied out.

you say that in retrospect after playing through mgs 4.

Yes they are, the hell are you talking about ?

Last one is from the beginning when they try to get a hand on the mobster's money. The one with the joker applauding is the scene when the mayor announces Gordon he's being promoted. The first two are from the end of the chase scene (the second being the joker when he approaches Batman just after he crashed)

The Hobbit's probably gonna make me shit my pants though, but I promise I won't scream in the theaters lol. That's embarrassing.

And yes, The Hobbit trailer is all that really matters this coming week.

The Mehbit.

Man you got that kool-aid hooked straight into your veins. Actual content aside(which is iffy, frankly), this is a pretty poor trailer with all the GUNNA BE EPIC SON, NEXT SUMMER FOR REAL garbage.

The content is great. Alfred breaking down, political manuevering to get Gordon out, Bruce in prison (presumably via flashback).....this is the shit I love about the series.

Anyone see SH2? Is it good?

I enjoyed it even more than the first. Way better villain and the action and Ritchie-isms fit a lot better this time.

Wtf Solo, I know I'm not seeing you hating on El Hobbito.

I say that as someone who got to that scene and wanted precisely that to happen, and was disappointed when it didn't. It would have been a much more fitting end to the character.

I don't hate it. I love it. But after making two of the worst movies I watched in the past decade back to back in the absolutely wretched King Kong (which might very well be my most hated movie of the past 10 years) and the crappy Lovely Bones, I cannot say I have much faith left in Peter Jackson. And while I do love FOTR and enjoyed the other two films enough, they were already fairly indulgent and PJ has only grown more self indulgent since.

I hope they answer why Alfred looks no different after a 30 year time span in the trilogy. Aging like a boss

In the trailer he's approaching the dinner table with a cane.

Caine with a cane.

It's probably Nolan's way of sending the entire issue a nod without drawing too much attention to it.

Just be glad it's not Lucas. He'd go back and de-age Caine in Begins for the next re-release.

"Finally I can tell the story the way I've always intended".

You don't actually know what i'm talking about so i'll just leave it there. Try reading my posts again

I think he'll get back into his LOTR groove. Can't say I hated King Kong as much as you did, though Lovely Bones was just a hot mess.

Also remains to be seen exactly what sort of impact Del Toro ended up having. If they kept some of his ideas for visual design we'll be able to tell pretty easily.

I'd like PJ to get back to a sort of slower-paced, more character-driven Tolkien film like with Fellowship. I also hold that to be the best one. I certainly enjoyed the other two but they always felt quite bloated in comparison to how graceful Fellowship was and how effortlessly it flowed.

we already know TDK was some sort of distant simile to george bush and his endeavours against terrorism.
all i'm asking is for nolan to go all the way and thread farther into the conservative, american concept of heroism and include the obligatory christian message of self sacrifice.....

Your analogy seems sound, but I think its rather important to note that PJ's entire filmography combined doesn't stand up to any single one of The Godfather I and II, The Conversation or Apocalypse Now.
That's no fun. Nobody has that kind of resume.
