SC is so much easier to get into, you can get to a decent level by doing whatever you want as long as you can macro, and you pretty much react to builds you see the exact same way every game. You also don't need to worry about working as a team.

I lose every single game of SC2 I play. I am the absolutely worst Starcraft player in existence. As much as I'd like to get better, I can't. It's way harder for me than Dota is. I win over half of the Dota games I play. I was able to grasp the general strategy of Dota almost on day one. It just took me some time to get the execution down. Naturally, that also happens to a smaller degree every time I try a new hero.

The reason behind this probably has something to do with having to control over a hundred different units instead of one to five-or-so.

The general trick is to put your hundred or so units into 1-5 control groups.

You don't need to maneuver individual ones that much until you're past gold, at which point you'll be a lot more comfortable with it.

Doing the 12 tutorial things though helps a lot at learning the basics, especially if you get gold on all of them. I'm not sure if they're still balanced correctly however.

At that point you should be able to start doing some bot matches and practicing a bit, and then looking at gold level Day[9] videos to get a better idea of the kind of improvement areas that are best tackled before you move on to the really high level strategies.

I know the things I need to do; I just really, really suck at doing them.

But my point is!

!!!

I didn't have this kind of trouble getting into Dota.

Yes, I'm trying the playdota thing.

I don't think they actually give friend invites anymore though, but given the invite rate, it seems likely that they're going to expand soon.
I also sent an email begging our Lord and Saviour Gaben.

Sent to DIE.

My problem with SC2 was getting bored too fast.

I was not going to grind 10gate until I perfected it.

Protip: Dark Seer illusions do 90% of your damage. If you are carrying hard, they are also carrying hard.

HATE EVERYONE.

Sorry but i don't appreciate being called an effen idiot and the rudeness that came from you over the mic.

I admit I'm bad, but you took that game way too seriously for what was meant to be a friendly against Gaffers.

I find this hilarious for a multitude of reasons.

Nah it was just a combination of horrible randoms (WHY CHEN WHYYYYYYYYY) and us otherwise being too evenly matched, so the game dragged out for like eighty-fucking-five minutes and we are all now done with dota 2 for life

probably

I was something like 4 and 40 in Warcraft III ranked games. Its painful to watch me play a RTS.

DOTA on the other hand, I seem to do fairly well with(Positive in both DOTA2 and League). I did well with nearly every single custom map I played in WCIII too. But the minute it comes to the real game in them, I just suck.

Adding to ignore list as much as wrong as bitching about players' skills over the voip. Stay above that.

I really sucked at Ursa (was my first time playing him).

One thing about the game in general: What keys do you guys use for the items? I made mine like HoN (Alt + Q/W/E/A/S/D), but I feel like I'm fumbling all over my keyboard when I need to hit item keys quickly. Using the default numpad just seems like too far of a reach.

Also, I hope they add TF2-style replay ability to practice games. Really wish we could have saved that without one of us having to be recording.

123456?

How do you get maximum ck? Is it mandatory that you stack creeps? And is the majority of farming done in lane or jungle? Do you alternate, when and how often?

Would really like to know this.

lol n0b going in on people.

I just wanted stuns on riki early game. Had him harassed down to kill range and sand king stays at the tower. Never had a problem with him late game, his ults always hit nice and he's one of the main reasons we held on that long.

*shrug* My main issue was the carries suiciding on dark seer illusions.
