Anyone know if the 20% off top 10 chart games in-store at Tesco is still on?
To quote myself, yes this offer is still on. 20% off top 10 chart games when you spend £50 or more in-store, which isn't hard at this time of year.

Rayman and Sonic end up being £17, there are probably a few other cheap games but I was getting bashed out of the way in the Christmas frenzy.

More deals just before Christmas.

RAGE Anarchy Edition (PS3/X360) - £9.98 @ GAME
Shadows of the Damned (PS3/360) - £9.99 @ Play (GAME has it for £4.98 but it's OOS at the moment, but keep checking them if you're interested because games in sale at GAME often go from OOS to In Stock during the day)
Bodycount (PS3/360) - £4.98 @ GAME
Resistance 3 (PS3) - £14.98 @ GAME and Gameplay
Medieval Moves (PS3) - £7.98 @ GAME and Gameplay
EyePet and Friends (PS3) - £7.98 @ GAME and Gameplay

Regarding the Dragon Age 2 topic:

It's just that it isn't only about its cheap price - it's also that you are going to spend time on it. There are tons of classic games that I bet Torque or others haven't played, yet instead devotes time to the mediocre and level-recycling shit that is DA2.

I would much more recommend picking up an old classic you haven't played yet instead of DA2. I mean, if you haven't played the following, play those instead of DA2, for the love of all that is holy:

  • Vampire: Bloodlines
  • Baldur's Gate 2
  • Fallout: New Vegas
  • Witcher 1+2
  • Planescape: Torment

And that's just RPGs. There are so many other classic games from the 90's and early 2000's that is much more entertaining and worthy of anyone's time. Adventure games, strategy games, simulation games, etc. When lying on your death bed, do you really want to say to yourself: "Why oh why did I use 30-40 hours on playing Dragon Age 2, when I could have played Planescape: Torment?"

Game instore deals

Xenoblade £10 (including CC Pro bundle they stole from everyone else...if you can find their 3 remaining copies of it) makes me ponder the whole GAME strategy of "if a game is older than 4 months and not a billion seller we won't sell it new; clear out all the new copies and make a loss on them all; time we issued profit warning as we do that to most of our inventory"

I feel bad for anyone who bought Star Fox 3D at £20 as its £15 now.

Is there any way to check store stock levels online? I don't want to slog all the way to the nearest Gamestation to find out they don't have any.

every site I have used (and I am talking about at least 10 sites) take pre-order money with paypal when you place your order, it is a inherent flaw of the paypal system unfortunately.

Well that's weird.

I just ordered a copy of Crackdown 2 at the hut this week using Paypal, and the next day a copy arrived from Zavvi.
Forgot that I already ordered it for €10 from them the past week.
Since the hut hadn't shipped my copy yet, I tried to cancel the order even though I used paypal.
The order got cancelled and my account never got charged for it, so t didn't even need to be refunded.

Depends on the shops I guess.

Shopto does charge immediately, but the again for most items in stock it also means that they are packed and ready to go within 5 minutes.

Nope. You can ring the stores but they might take a while to answer as I'd imagine they're pretty busy. The advantage of phoning is you can then reserve it if you do have it in stock.

Also it is unclear how many of the online prices are also instore. I can not see Metroid Prime Trilogy for 98p being valid for instance.

I noticed another crafty thing they did. They're selling Flingsmash without the controller for £10. Pretty sure the box says not for resale...

I wish all sites did that, maybe the ones who take funds with the pre-orders are merely fabricating the inherent flaw. Places like Bandai for example say this:

"We cannot "charge" your PayPal account for pre-orders when they ship, so please be warned if you use "PayPal" to pay us, they automatically deduct money from your account instantly rather than wait for the merchant to send the product first. "

Damnit, Starfox was one of the few Nintendo games, i believed would go down to £15 one day, never expected it so soon after going down to £20.

Any zavvi 10% codes floating around? I want to order Portal 2, Vanquish and Dirt 3 on PS3 but maybe I should wait for next year to get all for 9.95£ each ;) ?

Crossposting from Lothar's post in the Steam Holiday sale thread because it's such a great deal:

Saints Row The Third PC + Season Pass for £14.99
Registers on Steam and can be bought from the rest of Europe. I just bought it with paypal and it came down to something like 18-19€.

Also of note:
Dodonpachi Resurrection Deluxe: £9.98 @ Game and Gameplay

Don not, I repeat, DO NOT buy if you're from the fascist shithole that is censorship loving Germany. I did, and I could WASTE my season pass and Genki codes, but it WON'T let me register the game itself. So, do NOT buy it. Yeah, fuck us Germans, Steam, just fuck us. Hey, why don't you force EVERY game on the German store to have a low violence version while you're at it?

Shit, sorry I didn't know, I've edited my post accordingly.

Picked up Dark Souls LE for PS3 for £19.99 and Xenoblade Chronicles for £9.99 in-store at GAME. Saw Starfox 64 3DS for £14.99 but I'd already ordered it from Amazon. :(

That's strange though since keys from other sites (GMG) etc. usually register without a problem even if there is a low violence version available. I also registered games that did not see a release here as well using that method or retail steam codes.

How did you activate it? Fellow German here and I used a UK VPN (bought giving UK as a country) to activate both the game and all DLC. I bought it in an earlier sale though, so they might have changed something...?

Are there any deals (online or in store) on Starcraft II? Cheapest price I can find seems to be £27 but it's been out for ages already, and I'm trying to persuade a friend of mine to buy it so we can play multi.

Cheap Arse Gaffers: I do think that the Vita itself is very pricey. When do you guys think it will hit the price point of £150?

Tough one, the 3DS had a perfect storm of having a cold reception + shops trying to move stock out, so I caught a 3DS at £150 at Grainger Games a couple of months after launch and before the official Nintendo price cut, so that was win win for me.

So my advice would be, follow the reception of the Vita at launch check shops every now and then a few months later, and who knows lightening might strike twice, if not next christmas is a maybe, the christmas after that I'd be surprised if it wasn't near that price point through chrimbo deals at the very least.

smh

You could have bought Inazuma Eleven with that money.

Wait, Inazuma 11 is cheap? Where?

Also, thanks alot guys, you guys are th ebest. I might as well wait a full year untill I jump on board with the Vita stuff. I just don't want to be there a bit late liek the PSP which I have missed out on couple of rare titles.
