Phandy, Wes, Spookie & Lirlond and my self. We play and have a chance of winning if Meteorain is not around. Tre was our token player, American of the Americas.

I like to think Sanjay and Meteorain are interchangable. Just NEEEVVEER mix the two. NEVA EVA.

Sorry I confused you for Rac for some reason, I was wondering if the Agha first NS build failed him or something.

Nah apparently you are supposed to go straight bottle as ns. The build didn't fail me I got completely dominated by milkman, as I knew I was going to cause I taunted him to go pudge.

Bottle level 1? Yeah I guess you could do that, but why would you gimp yourself so?

You broke me that game, lol. But to answer your question, like I rather you get a Quelling Blade then use your mana to stun creeps. Like you rather sit in sand storm then use your stun to farm creeps and also max out skill 1 then spreading it out on skills 1/2/3. You range increases as you level up skill 1 so stunning heroes becomes easier to pull off.

Things I like to point out during the laning phase you were being very scared and would never initiate on Lion but then when the team fights came you ran in like a madman!

The teamfight where we lost the top racks, I saw you go from the side I knew what you were going to do and quickly typed nooooo don't and you went in head first and stunned and our team got wiped. Our team was most likely going to lose anyways but if we had any chance what so ever it would have had to be a perfect play. At that point you wanted them to initiate on us and then you should be using your portal key to ulti in. We had Furion, the longer we held defense the better he pushed lanes.

He was also sitting on 5k :( David buy something!

But it was your first Sand King game and my Morphling game so I did some dumb shit too, level 2 death because I was on 200hp, lol. But doing this in the laning phase is where you want to learn then during teamfights where you pretty much can cost your team the game.

Like my game throwing moment was when we were pushing top lane and I was on my way to you guys, it was risky taking the rune route, as I knew the other team might have had wards and we never had any and just as I feared all 5 caught me, I had token of life which I forgot I even had because I was to mad getting caught as we had the advantage at that point.

From the 3 inhouse games that I did play yesterday, only the first game was a good game in the sense that there were two teams in it.

The next two games where Milkman played with us, he went and stomped people 25/5 in both games. It did not help him going Bounty Hunter and Pudge, I don't know why you went them heroes but considering who you were playing against you needed to pick less annoying heroes. We had no players on your level to match you against and you still went with your favorite hero and a invisible hero which less experienced players find difficult to deal with and you went around 3 shooting people to death.

Another point I like to point out, guys fucking speak! its like a funeral when I play with you guys, it would help out with teamplay. Like I tend to talk but for some reason when I played the inhouse games I said nothing. I think if I hear no one else talking I don't bother too, rather not talk to a wall etc and man I hate typing other then typing SS.

No MrMister is right, Dota 2 Gaf is the most saltiest. HoN Gaf was never salty much, it just had the most trolls.

I should have bought shadow blade/bkb with late game Furion but thought the rest of the team was pushing other lanes and that we would be able to topple their tower/racks; previously when I played Furion by that time the game was usually over. Lesson learned.

The game after that as Zeus I kept getting ganked in lane which was bad. Ended up working the team fights better but still ended up 0/9/19. Oh well.

Played Drow after that where milk's friend 1.09 (dude was getting furious at our jakiro) was leading and thought it was going relatively well, but in trying to participate in team ganks I underfarmed and couldn't carry late. Again, lesson learned.

I always use the mousewheel click-drag approach, with the standard qwer for skills. I found it way more intuitive than always bumping the edges of the screen or scrolling with wasd. That's just me though.
Yeah this is what I tried to configure but it wouldn't let me bind my mouseclick to Camera Grip for some reason

If your watching the game live then you don't have access to any of the camera modes, because it's live. Those only become available if you spectate using the Dota TV list, because it needs the 2 minute delay for stuff like Directed.
Weird, I spectated a game in the Watch tab a little while ago and I had full camera control then. Was that time-delayed? They should maybe hide those options if they don't do anything!

Spectate is always on time delay, he's talking about if you have a broadcast slot inside the game itself (understandably, you're live there and can speak to both teams).

So, probably wicked late to the party on this one, but DOTA is not a game. It is a sport, played through the medium of a video game.

And it is one that will go alongside baseball and hockey as things I enjoy, but totally fucking suck at...heh.

Good times. Bots are still eating my face.

Well, to be fair, the DoTA 2 bots are kind of crazy. Sometimes they do stupid shit, sometimes they go crazy and gank everyone.

Quick edit: Well, actually most of the bad bot play comes from the allies, so if you were to say, play 5 versus a bot team, you'd probably wreck them everytime.

I was so fucking bad in that game. I need to manage mana better. Blink > ground pound a single target > enemy team suddenly appears > NO MANA FOR ULT NOOOOOOOO

Speaking of Earthshaker? Probably for the best that you don't jump a single target when you don't know where the rest of his team is. Any time you can walk yourself into a good Echo Slam is a luxury indeed, so it's something you shouldn't count on. Before you have the Blink Dagger, you need a really good fissure block to set up the ultimate (or one really good aoe stun from someone like a Tidehunter, Enigma, or Dark Seer).

It was generally to secure a gank, blink ahead and time the ground pound(since it uses the least mana) only to have the enemy team show up out of the trees or something.

Even a maxed Aftershock won't give you much stun time with the Enchant Totem (1.5 seconds), there's zero margin for error and one action from an unseen teammate could mean your death or a failed gank. I generally prefer to Fissure from range to start a gank, coming up from behind or a flank to get a good angle (use the trees to mask your approach, if they don't know you're coming, they're already half-dead). Even if he has teammates backing him up that you didn't see at first, a good block can trap one or two on the near side and impede their team's intervention. It's far safer than jumping in with the Totem, especially because you haven't sacrificed your positioning if the gank turns into a teamfight.

Oh I know it was a bad way to play ;p There are loads of things I can do better as ES, but at the time it seemed to make sense! I set up kills, so it seemed to work, but that's probably due to the ineptitude of the enemy and less to do with good or bad decision making on my part. He's a fun hero but I'm admittedly not good with him haha

I did notice though that initiating with the totem allowed you to better place a fissure for trapping an enemy though, or cutting him off from his team anyway.

Oh, it definitely can work, it's just that it puts you into phenomenal danger, and may invite a teamfight if the enemy team sees that you've used your blink to place yourself in a vulnerable position. It's an opening for the enemy team to take out a big initiator before a big fight, or if they're all there, turn it into a counter-initiation and then knock down the rest of your team when they run out to help.

As for fissure placement, your angles aren't going to be great if you're attempting to block the target you've Totem-stunned, in most cases you'll have to use your body to block the gap that lies a few feet from the both of you. Engenders even more risk than before. Definitely better to blink to the target's flank, so that you can place a block that covers all of his immediate escape routes. Not as much manly brawling action (TM), but it makes for a far more safe and secure gank.

Divine rapier?

Wtf is this pooling shenanigans?

EDIT: 800 GPM LOL

Seriously, what are they doing with their front page? Embed the game at the top, then pull it for no apparent reason (no news after embedding, either)? Huh?

Hum, did not find anything in op, and tried searching the thread without luck.

How do I go about to change my suggested items for the heroes? Have been going random so far so have not bothered, but was thinking of starting to pick instead and want to change the suggested items for a few heroes to my liking.

Valve seriously need to implement a better match making system.

In my last to random pubs, everyone but me stays for the end of the game :/

On my last one, some dude said 'gg baddie'

How am I supposed to beat 5 guys all by myself ;_;

On the little panel where the suggested items in the store, there's a small button at the top right (i think, dont take my word for this, but it's up there somewhere) which enables edit mode. Then just drag and drop. I remember seeing a program in this thread which allowed easier editing outside of dota2 but I'm not active enough in dota-gaf to know if I'm hallucinating or not.

Thanks, found it, doing it through bot games :)

Anybody else having trouble downloading the beta? I'm getting like less than a kilobyte of download speed. I've tried installing other games and I'm getting 1 MB+ on those, so it seems to be just DOTA having problems.

Gaf in houses are the best. The one in house I played in was probably the funnest most stressfull game I've played in the beta. Grouping with gaffers in fun as well. The milkman is right in that I learn so much more grouping with gaffers cus most are willing to tell me what I'm doing wrong and how I can be better. Unlike pubs where people just rage. Overall I think I've gotten better in the last month, and that's 99% due to gaffers.

It just sucks no one really plays when I'm on on the weekdays. Even though I'm in Cali I have an odd ass schedule so I don't really get on till 12 am. At which point there aren't a lot of gaffers on so I end up having horrible pub games where people just yell at me in Russian. 8(

I just played my fourth game in a row, that ended with all of the enemy team versus me. Getting really tired of this...

My best option is to play with my friends right now, but I'm at such a noobie state that it'd be boring for them if I tagged a long all the time.

Don't think that silly. As long as you pick characters that fit your skill level and playstyle you will do fine with friends. Is no boring.

It's less boring for everyone when everyone has a mic!

But I've never had such huge problems with leavers before. You know it's safe to leave five minutes after the first leaver, right? Did you somehow get in the Leavers' queue? Did you get an abandon recently for whatever reason?

It's Wednesday, Thursday is usually patch day (except for last week).

I have heard from a source's source (yeah, I know) that there is no update tomorrow, and that next week's will most likely actually be Invoker. Reason for the lack of update is everyone's on vacation. I guess come tomorrow I will see if said source's source is indeed partially correct. U:

P.S., I was actually told this by someone who has been in the beta since before they started sending out waves of invites (I believe he has a friend at Valve), but I am by no means guaranteeing its accuracy.

Fine I'll get a mic :O

Also I try not to be an arse, and help out others that stay. It's usually one guy that leaves, then everyone leaves like 10 minutes after the first guy :/

Well, Dragon Knight is fun. Need to get better at last hitting early game.

So far, I tend to get Soul Ring first, then grabbing the level 1 boots, pick up a magic wand, and then I start to differ a lot. I have been varying between getting a Armlet or a Black King Bar first. For the bit of life steal tend to just grab Morbid Mask and not build it into a Helm of the Dominator till later in the game. How does the item build sound? My GPM in the past two games was 350 and 410, they were about 60 minutes and 40 minutes respectfully.

For Skill build, I get 1 point in my Stun, then I will try to get 3 levels into Brethe Fire and 1 into Dragon Blood. When I get a point of Dragon Blood depends on how much harras I am taking, but I'll grab that between 2 and 5. Grab ult at level 6, get level 4 Brethe Fire at 7, max out Dragon Blood, and this is where I do something odd.

See, Level 1 Dragon's poison works on towers, making it so they go down faster then with level 2. So I tend to kill it at level 1 till all the T2 towers are down, or unless I can upgrade it right to level 3, which has the slow.

So, I'll simply dump my points into my Stun at this point, and grab level 2 dragon form when I feel the time is right. Then Stats and you are set.
