Fireball Charming
Fireball, only with more charming. And variety in both visuals and gags. Crazy finale.

1st arc - good
2nd arc - great
3rd arc - we're making a sequel guys, lets throw some half-assed shit together.

Considering that the majority of anime is adaptations, of one sort of another, then that's the kind of recommendation you're likely to receive anyway.
Also, it's not like these shows are all good because they have original screenplays: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Anime_with_original_screenplays
I know, but most of the 13 episode adaptations nowadays are mostly meh because of the sucky pacing. I wish more studios would make stuff like True Tears
Then its not for me. Pass
Well adapting a manga or novel into 13 or less episodes is definitely challenging, so I can see why pacing problems would arise. Then again, I feel that lots of anime titles have problems with pacing so I think it's a problem that's wider than just adaptations.
At least there's lots of older shows that you can go and check out, if you're so inclined!
Right, it's Christmas/New Year week off and I've just beaten Arkham City. Anime plans:
i) Finish Penguin Drum (4 eps to go!)
ii) Finish Mouryou no Hako (8 eps to go!)
iii) Maybe try and catch up on Chihayafuru (only watched 2 episodes so far)
Watch me fail to do any of these things!
I haven't even really kept up with what's airing next season - for a monocle is there anything worth paying attention to? I'll watch Aquarion Evol because I hate myself, but nothing else springs to mind...
I feel like i've finished most of the good older stuff (I usually only watch stuff that have at the least a romantic subplot) Do you know any website that's good for browsing anime (Sort of like how for manga, we have mangaupdates.com)

Chihayafuru is the best romance anime of the year.
I feel that pacing is a problem inherent to the television medium; it's not restricted to anime.
Animenewsnetwork?
Also, I find it odd you are primarily a romantic guy when you have a Shin Angyo Onshi avatar.

But Bakemono isn't good
SAO is one of the few exceptions, among some others that I enjoyed despite no romantic plot.
Damnit chihayafuru and Usagi drop are both Shoujo's. Damned hell, I find it hard to enjoy shoujo/josei works. I'll give them both a try anyhow
I haven't really watched many, or any, romance anime this year, so I don't know how true that is. However, as Chihayafuru doesn't exclusively focus on romance-plot I think the show as a whole is more enjoyable then it would have been if it had a narrower focus. Then again, by that loose definition, Wandering Son is a 'romance anime' and it's even better than Chihayafuru.
Also, why do you think Chihayafuru is a good 'romance anime'? Is it something simple, like the characters, or is there some other reason that you like it?

Well, as there are thousands of shows out there (well, only a few hundred of those are worth watching) there's probably quite a lot of other works that you might enjoy. We have a few threads that might provide you with some ideas:I feel like i've finished most of the good older stuff (I usually only watch stuff that have at the least a romantic subplot) Do you know any website that's good for browsing anime (Sort of like how for manga, we have mangaupdates.com)

Only if it's Shounen/Seinen!![]()
For me watching Taichi getting friendzoned* is half the fun**.Hellsing321 said:Chihayafuru is interesting because the romantic interest for the main girl is a card game.
Now I'm really confused.
So uh, A Town Where You Rage, ToLoveRu, Good(bad) Ending, etc?

Have you tried kuragehime that came out last year? Its Jusei/Seienn? and it might be the one that you are looking for.

I need to finish Tiger And Bunny. halfway through it, and all I can think is that a more appropriate title would have been Tiger and Douchebag.
Bakemonagatari is really good. It just has lots of text and SHAFTNESS in it.
But it has Kana Hanazawa and a catgirl in it so there you go.
Im starting to reach a point where I have to work so much extra and have so little free time that I am hopelessly backlogged to a point where I dont think I will EVER catch up with hardly any shows.

GAINAX bouncing requires one to go up as the other goes down and viceversa.
That would give leeway for horizontal mammary movement. I don't think I've ever seen a case of horizontal GAINAX bouncing!Hey, at least someone knows their terminology. I believe the phrase that you're looking for is "asynchronous breast movement".
Its just not the same.
Nobody faps at work.
aw damn you mean it's not airing at all this week? I thought it was just late.![]()
Last Exile 10/11/I have no idea what the official number is can someone please tell me?:
Yeah. This episode is full of QUALITY. The first half especially is unreal ugly, it makes Meguca look amazing. The usual pan out shots where nothing is even drawn correctly let alone animated while the characters talk, the slanty eyes derp all over the place, second half is better but its still there.
As for the episode itself, God damn. Holy crap. doomed1 you were indeed correct.
So three things from this episode the first being the what the helleverybody is dead and the Silvius is DOOOOOOOOOOMED. Lightsaber battle was cool as hell but uh Dio everybody else is dead, you're kinda fighting the irrelevant battle of irrelevance here. That was some serious hacks going on, not much of a fair fight >:/.
The next beingLiliana. What the hell? Turncoat wench she might as well have stuck the knife into her sister while she was at it. I really, really, really hope the show doesn't try to paint her in any kind of sympathetic light for her actions.
And finallythe return of Alvis. Introduced by Dio. Say what? Dio introduces her to Fam Fam talking all about the hardships and deaths she had to deal with. Please tell me this was just referring to her old nurse and pilot and not that some combination of Mullin, Dunya, Lavie and Claus are dead D:
All in all a really neat and awesome episode. I just wish it looked a little better especially considering how important this episode was and well its the episode after some filler recap.
Did I tell you, or DID I TELL YOU? Next episode is going to be sooooooooo hax~however, they did very well to create all the little hints that next episode is looking up, even if it's a huge set-back (Sky Russians returning a favor, and that wasn't those black clad hax-ninjas that shut the engine down~).
I always have to lock my door when I watch this
