so I reset again and log into my jpn account. This time it was fine, let me download the VT demo.
I mentioned this here http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=33824262&postcount=5122.
If you skip the initial-login, system complains about the card (it's clearly a UI flow-bug, question is how they'll eventually fix it).

What is the use of having US account at the moment though? Store is not online, and Vita refuses to see any PSP content that I download to PS3 on US account either. :/

Didn't want to skip log-in, I foolishly chose a WiFi hotspot that needed credentials (paid hotspot), so it got stuck in that stupid loop :/

Just using US account as its my main account and i have a couple of friends with vitas showing up, so i like the activity

Amazon jp just sent me a email with '21% off' vita. Not the main unit, but around 20% off several games and a lot of the accessories.

Tempted to grab a cradle.

Too bad the prices are more or less what you have to pay at the bigger retail stores.
Heavenly!
To be fair, I think that MH acutally looks worse on the Vita than it does in that video - the jaggies are a lot more visible. Still, <3 the second stick camera.

i'm just going to come out and say it

The Claw - and the mastery of it - and the options it gives you are ALL PART of Monster Hunter and it's awesomeness.

Second stick is okay in the "throwback to MH1 for swinging" way - but for camera control it is NOT UPTO SCRATCH for close range weapon users and ANYONE into MH will not give a flying fucking toss about this OR the 3DS alt control method. FACT. ;)

P.S. ABSOLUTELY FUCK OFF to TARGET MONSTER in 3DS MH. What the fuck is that shit?! FUCK OFF. If you want to play an easy game, there's any number of them. Go play those. Jeezus.
After all this shit about MH3G being hard - it's PISS easy. WTF. :/

Lol. The Claw can go fuck itself. I'm not deforming my hand because the camera controls are not up to scratch. MH Tri's controls are heavenly and I refuse to go back to the Claw!

Also, I don't see what the problem is with Target Monster in MH3G. It's nothing like a lockon system at all and best of all you can turn it off if you don't like it!.

BTW, it's MHP3 that's the one with nerfed difficulty not Tri G...

Connect the AC adapter, wait until the PS button stops flashing orange and hold the power button for 20+ seconds. I think that's the correct order of handling this.

Thanks! Mine didn't flash orange when I plugged it in but holding the power button worked all the same!

But I don't want to spend half of my life just to master the claw, I like the second stick :(

Not denying that - but in the grand MH scheme - 3rd is easiest , and Tri/TriG are right behind it.

Later Tri gets harder but then again so does 3rd. Just surprised at dome people saying 3G hard from start - just not seeing it

Anyways, sorry for the MH derail - back to the doom and VIVA the claw and fxxk the dual stick ;) (i'm half joking a it clearly wasnt clear)

It's not hard from the start at all, half the point of Tri was that it was designed with a slow difficulty curve to make it easy for players new to the series to get into. The hard part is later on when Deviljo rapes your face!

Still pretty difficult to play in sunlight. On the train I usually try to pick a spot not on the sunny side. Can't compare to anything else as I have no PSP, DS or 3DS.
I'd say it's better than DS, iPhone and PSP. Don't know about the rest of the new portable devices.

Sony Gives No Comment on PlayStation Vita Sales

Following a debut of 325,000 units, PlayStation Vita sales dropped 78% in the system's second week. With 72,000 units sold, the system placed below all other active systems, including the system it's supposed to replace, the PlayStation Portable.

Meanwhile, the 3DS saw its best week ever, selling 482,200 units, taking it above the four million mark in domestic sales. Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata had previously forecast that the system would reach four million by its first anniversary. It managed the feat two months in advance of that.

So what does Sony Computer Entertainment have to say about what appears to be a slow start for the Vita? Nothing at present, it seems. Bloomberg Japan asked for comment on the Vita's second week performance and was given the old "no comment" from SCE PR head Satoshi Fukuoka.

Perhaps we'll hear something once business returns to normal following the New Years break.

Just got my Vita this morning. I'm still in a hype/excitement bubble so apologies if these questions have been answered on recent pages but if anyone could clarify I'd really appreciate it:

I've set up my wifi etc and am logged into my (US) PSN account. Does the Vita connect me automatically to the net/PSN when I turn it on? Not seeing the option to log in or out.

Tinkered with the settings a little but haven't seen an option to extend the time it takes when sitting idle before it goes into power save mode. Where is this option?

Need to log in with my Japanese account too for demos but that'll come later. Is there a quick and easy way to switch accounts? Been following news on this issue since they came up but haven't read up on it these past few days.

Thanks for any help guys :)

Yup.

Something like Power settings (last option).

I'll link it with Yoshida's response. While they did give a small header noting their error, they didn't run a story retracting their goof, nor change their headline.
Hysterical. Re-reading the article, they never even bought the digital version, and were therefore never qualified to write the story in the first place.

I haven't played a claw-less MH but I have to agree from my experience with Portable Ops. Clawing keeps your right thumb free to, you know, actually fight.

You're a life saver. I knew everyone's problem so far was agreeing to the deactivation. A few thought that they'll lose that activation if they decline. So basically account switching is now possible on a single memory stick, with the requirements being an internet connection and 3 minutes of free time, correct?

hey guys, those of you who have imported a vita and dont have an official PSN store in your country, does near work for you guys? it cant seem to find my location.

i have a HK vita using a Singapore PSN account and i live in Brunei.

near can't seem to find my location. tried using wifi and 3G, no luck.

anybody else not able to have near find you?

Forbes has their own scathing article now..

Sony in Big Trouble with PS Vita

Sony will likely be forced to cut the price of the PS Vita from 24’000 yen to well below 20’000 yen very soon. The upcoming US launch could be a true debacle for several reasons. Sony has decided to price Vita at $250, higher than the Amazon Kindle Fire. The hottest games like the latest Uncharted are priced at $50, while many other major titles are $40. The pricing seems delusional in light of the Japanese response to the PS Vita.

Yup. What I want to know is if anyone has tried Japanese DLC on an American account yet.

Just put an hour into Uncharted and am really impressed considering the impressions from a few others in this thread. The game controls beautifully. The first fire fight had me a bit off guard but once I adjusted the sensitivity of both the aiming and the motion aiming then it felt just as good as ever. The only thing control wise that feels really weird to me is the fact that you have to press select to get the onscreen buttons up(Journal, Camera etc). The Select/Start button feel really sticky and awkward to press for me(Am I the only one?) so the fact that I have to get out of my comfortable position and press select seems weird to me. Not sure why they wouldn't just make it so you click on the corner to get them up or something.

I'm really surprised with the great presentation and depth of this game. I was expecting a dumbed down experience for the Vita but the fact that they've added all these mysteries with stories attached to each treasure is great! Makes me wonder why UC3 didn't have this? Another small gripe I have is the fact that the text is so god damn pixely and ugly. Is this due to the fact that the game runs in Sub HQ?

I'm in Australia and its working fine for me. It doesn't find location occasionally but it usually does on the second attempt. Surprised to see 10 people playing near me.
