NFL 2011 Week 17 |OT| It's Time To Shut Up, Fat Boy

lulz, no matter who the lions play that team will always be in the game. your defense is fucking awful and don't give me shit about flynn being legit. if he threw for 200-300 yards and a couple td's? alright, no real shame in that, not a lot of footage on the dude and he has a good team.

but the motherfucker threw for 400+ yards and SIX fucking touchdowns. i'm sorry but the lions defense is horrible and i would say most teams in the nfl (including ALL playoff teams) could "hang" with the lions

Four things out of this game:

1) Lions pass defense is atrocious
2) Flynn getting the single game yardage and TD record for GB is hilarious and hopefully Rodgers is asked about it ad nauseum.
3) Marino, Brady, Brees, Stafford.
4) I love that nobody at the NFL realized "Well, if we review all scoring plays, we admit that a ref might be wrong in making those TD calls, but if we don't review close "non-scoring" plays, those refs must be right 100% of the time, right?"

That BS "fumble" call on Logan that was not overturned cost the Lions HUGE - not allowing them to challenge the Titus Young TD and not allowing the challenge the Jordy Nelson muffed punt.

Enjoy it Pack fans, you've had a great season. Hopefully we'll see you in Round 2 against Flynn's backup.

Lions are the 2009-2011 Jets.

Soon to be irrelevant again but in the mean time they're completely unlikeable unless of course you're an asshole.

Next weeks thread in 15 minutes.

Spoilers for the Playoffs:

Giants beat the Falcons
Broncos beat the Steelers
Niners lose to whoever they play in the divisionals (Saints I think)

Yes, the most charitable athlete in the country and a 23 year-old QB becoming the 4th QB in history to throw for 5,000 yards have the same loathsome appeal as loud-mouth asshole of a coach and a way overhyped QB.

Is there a team in the playoffs you like?

I like the Giants, personally. Great team to play against. Classy, gutty and hard nosed without being filthy. Also, they win every once in awhile so they keep it interesting.

The NFL is a different league now. Flynn is solid and I knew that from the Lions game last year where we beat the Lack, and the Patriots game he played.

Our defense needs some work in the secondary but keep in mind Louis Delmas our starting SS has been out for 4 weeks and will be back next week.

Delmas or not we're near the top of the league in defensive touchdowns. This is a defense that can make a game changing play at any moment and thats why we'll beat the Aints.

I'm no Romo fan but he takes all the blame no matter how they lose. Sports radio destroys him every time.
Which in this case is nonsense. Both Cowboy losses to the Giants could arguably be placed at the feet of the Cowboys defense. Romo played out of his mind against us in Week 14. You couldn't have asked for more from your QB in that game (well aside from the self-safety!). This game, not so much but Terrance Newman had a "shit I may not be cut out of for this anymore" type of game for a cornerback. The Cowboys front 7 could barely sniff Eli all game and Ware, as amazing a player as he is was responsible for plenty of those offside penalties that kept the Giants drive alive in BOTH games. Eli had his number with the hard count.

Colts #1 Luck, obviously.

Wildcard will be who trades up to St Louis to get RGIII. That will change the whole draft IMO.

Lions should go for RB in the first round. Even though Mikel Leshoure was drafted in the 2nd last year you can never have too much depth at RB as this season proved for so many teams. Get solid OL and DB's in the later rounds.

Did no offseason kill NFL teams even to this point? Dallas D seemed confused alot.
I want to see this to see the hilarious feuding between Jerry and Peyton when Peyton inevitably takes over the entire team.
Peyton fights offensive lineman and permanently made Donald Brown his bitch. No contest.

Dallas could always trade for Peyton Manning. I guarantee you with that team around him, Peyton Manning would destroy.

Romo is going to finish the season as the 4th highest rated QB in the league with 4,000+ passing yards, 30+ TD's, and 10 INT's. Dallas does not need a better QB.

I wonder who the Ravens will take at 32?

Packers. Giants. It's arbitrary to an extent, but there are certain teams that are lower in traits such as bitchassness (see: Thomas Brady) or showboating than others.

The real reason I always hated the Buccaneers is because those early 2000 teams were so fucking cocky with Sapp and Rice. I never minded Brooks or Ronde because they were always classy. It was just the constant showboating and, frankly, in the case of Rice, the subtle late hits that drove me up a wall.

Also, everyone in Atlanta thought Mike Vick was made out of the finest china. Or, as we say in Georgia, Christopher Chandelier.

Only stat that matters is can you get the wins in the big games. Romo can't. Simple as that. He's had enough years to prove it.

I'm not sure why this storyline hasn't gotten more play, but after being punched in the face by Buddy Ryan, Kevin Gilbride has taken out his two sons in the last two weeks of the season.

As he always does... he always has huge numbers, great QBR, even posts a lot of wins (over his career), yet...

1 playoff win in his entire career.

He chokes more than anyone I have ever seen play the game ESPECIALLY in the games that matter. He is a joke. What good are all of those numbers if they never amount to shit? Yeah Dallas defense sucks.. but so many pieces have changed over the years Romo has been there. They've had great defenses and bad.. yet Romo remains. And because Jerry Jones has his head stuck up his own ass, Romo won't go anywhere either.

THAT'S MY QUARTERBACK!

Same thing was said about Peyton for years. Plenty of opportunities and the Colts always came up short. Can't believe I'm actually defending Romo here.

I know QBR wasn't just mentioned in this thread.

Right?

Quarterbacks get too much credit and too much blame. That said, Romo has made a sport out of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, particularly on national tv.

Right?

The point was that bringing in another QB who is going to put up big numbers would not change much for Dallas this season. They already have a big numbers QB who has faltered in big games (I'm not arguing that) but this game is not on him.
