I'm always nervous when you play a team you already beat in the regular season. There's always that tendency to downplay them and for the other team to come out extra motivated. And Detroit definitely has the talent to keep pace offensively if Brees has an off day.

With that said I think the Saints still beat Detroit handidly.

Our offense has only been getting better as the season progressed and our defense is only giving up 18.8 ppg in the last 10 games and we have started to produce more and more critical turnovers as of late. Even if it ends up a shoot out I'd take brees over stafford every time and double that if it's in the dome in the playoffs.

Depends on the health of Delmas. He practiced this week, so I assume he will plan and he's one of the few safeties that can match up with someone like Jimmy Graham. Also, Mark Ingram being gone doesn't hurt.

CIN @ HOU - Yates goes down on the first drive, enter Delhomme. 5 interceptions as the Bengals win in a romp.
DET @ NO - Lions win a 48 - 45 shootout with 50 year old Jason Hanson hitting the game winner as time expires.
ATL @ NYG - Yeah I just don't like the Giants. Fuck Eli.
PIT @ DEN - Yes the only ones who will protect their house will be the Tebows.

Except Chris Ivory has played better than Mark Ingram.

And well see what Delmas can do but so far not even a hobbled leg that had him going half speed has slowed Graham down from putting up numbers.

On a side not: I wish the saints wouldn't have taken Graham out in the fourth quarter so he could have kept the TE receiving yard record.

That's placing a lot on one guy. What's stopping NO from running on Detroit? I would worry about that first of all. If the running game has any semblance of success, the passing game is going to open right up.

Does anyone actually think Denver has a shot at beating Pittsburgh next week? What is you're reason, other than "I don't know shit about football"

Pittsburgh is going to kill them, and I fucking hate Pittsbugh, but it's incredibly obvious. And please, respond with dumb Tebow comments, because that's original and will surely be witty.

i'd love to watch them win but no, i don't think they have a chance. I predict a blowout, at best they'd do what they did to New England, come out with a touchdown on a mix of passing/rushing, then go all rush and get blown out.

The best case scenario is getting blown out but no career ending injuries for their players.

Caldwell fired and possibly the Polians as well.

Spags and Devaney also gone. It would be funny if Fisher goes to the Colts. They'll want him, and so would the Rams. But he would go to Indy over STL. So the Colts would screw the Rams both over the first pick and their first choice of coach

“I’m pissed at my team,” Hue Jackson said after the game via the Oakland Tribune. “At some point in time, as a group of men, you go in the game, and you can say whatever you want about coaches, you win the game. Here’s your time. Here’s your time to make plays.

“We didn’t get ‘em stopped. And we didn’t make enough plays. So, yeah, I’m pissed at the team. I’m also, like I tell them, I’ll always put it on me, but I am pissed at my team. Because when you have those kinds of opportunities, you’ve got to do it, and we didn’t do it.”

“I’m going take a stronger hand in this whole team, this whole organization,” Jackson said. “There ain’t no way that I’m going to feel like I feel today a year from now, I promise you that. There’s no question. Defensively, offensively and special teams. I aint feeling like this no more. This is a joke. . . . Yeah, I’m going to take a hand in everything that goes on here.”

Poor Rors. :(

Reasons?

Big Ben is even more hurt than usual, Denver D is pretty capable and the Broncos have a nice running game.

I expect Pitt to win this but I also expect a close one. It's not like the Steelers are an offensive powerhouse.

Tebow just needs to protect the football a lot better than in the last few weeks. Thats basically the only reason they lost the last 3 (and the D wasn't good against the Bills)

at best they'd do what they did to New England, come out with a touchdown on a mix of passing/rushing, then go all rush and get blown out.

They totally dominated NE on the ground until they turned the ball over twice in 2 drives.

No one matches up with Graham, Shag is not walking through the door. Ingram was really start to look good, but it dosen't hurt when Chris Ivory is the next man up. Besides running the ball is just an excuse to rest Brees arm.

Sure they have a shot. If the defense plays well and the run is established early it wouldn't be out of reach. In all likelihood the Steelers won't let this happen. Tebow despite what all the haters say can be accurate, and when the run is working causes unique issues for opposing defenses. Steelers have had a tendency to play down this year. I don't think it's much of shot, but it's certainly a possibility.

As always, nervous about the Steelers. This is the team that struggled to beat the Colts, Chiefs, Jags and Browns (twice!) this season. They also however demolished the Seahawks, Rams and Titans. Quality wins over the Pats and the Bengals (twice!).

In other words, they play to the level of their competition. Which might mean seeing Ben tuck the ball and run around Mile High a lot, being chased by Miller.

I still see a win, but I'll bet it will be an ugly-ass game, which is Steeler football.

The trouble is the offense, it's been regressing. And their redzone offense stinks on ice. I don't necessarily think the Steelers play to their competition, they play the same every week. And that's disjointed on offense and at times, simply sloppy. For every nice or big gain, seems you'll also get a penalty, a sack, a pick or a fumble, some kind of screw up. And that's regardless of what other team is out there. And a lot of the time they simply wait for Ben and/or Brown to make a play that pulls their ass out of the fire.

And that's why you're right, this playoff game will be extremely close and it'll come down to late in the 4th. I think they'll win, but I don't see them going much farther than that.

Surely Hue Jackson gets fired. His lack of control over his emotions and that disastrous trade have to get him axed, right?

According to Schefty,

Glazers cleaned house in Tampa Bay, fired the ENTIRE coaching staff, including Raheem Morris.

EDIT: Beaten by like six people. So bad.

Just like they blew out Painter and Palko and the Browns?

Come on, Pittsburgh is more than capable of laying a turd.

I think they will blow them out, but it's far from a lock. I'm much more confident in the Giants and Saints winning than the Steelers.

I'm more excited that Greg Olson is gone. Fuck him, fuck him for quitting on the run after 2 plays, fuck him for his shitty "Wildcat" plays, fuck him for his shitty WR reverses with the slowest WRs in the NFL, fuck him for coming out in Shotgun on 1st and Goal, fuck him for rarely calling a QB sneak with a 6'6" QB, just FUCK HIM.

Had to do it.

Unlike Rams G.M. Billy Devaney, who was fired along with coach Steve Spagnuolo, G.M. Mark Dominik is expected to stay. Dominik received a new contract after the season.

“We want to thank Coach Morris for all his hard work and dedication as head coach of the Buccaneers,” Buccaneers co-chairman Joel Glazer said in a team-issued release.

“I have a lot of respect and appreciation for the passion Coach Morris gave to our football team, but this change is one we felt was necessary,” Dominik said.

And...playoff time!

Anyone seen DCX round these parts lately? He's gonna have to sport a Cam Newton avatar for, oh, ~8 months after the Giants take care of the Falcons in the playoffs :)
