Sanchez and Schotty will be coaching/playing in Febuary this year contrary to what people may think.

He will lead his team to victory in the Puppy Bowl

Can't really bag on the guy too much. Harbaugh asked him to do the job, and he has done it very well. So much so that he is clearly having a big impact on games. I'm not sure if he is one dimensional or not since we don't really get to see him in that capacity. I haven't watched every 9ers down, so I don't really know how often he is used in other situations.

you can't give awards based on what if he played every down. He didn't. he is specialist in pass rush, and even at that barely better than Von. if the award was named best pass rushing rookie, I vote for AS.

West Va-63
Clemson-20

Defensive coordinators everywhere are being found dead clutching a pistol in their hand.

Or updating their resume, because there will be at least one new opening by the end of the night.

fill me in on what von miller has done better than aldon smith. if you're going to say tackles then london fletcher is the best defensive player in the league

True. I'm just saying if the award goes to him, good for him. He went above and beyond what was expected of him as far as I can tell.

Was he really that good a in Tampa this year? I only remember him always huffin and puffin hands on his hips after halftime during his time at Iowa.

He's been excellent this year. Needs to work a little bit on his technique and get a better handle on containing the run to the outside, but overall i couldn't be happier with what he has shown as a first year RDE. I'm not sure why you have the impression of him that you do during his time at Iowa because in his pro career he has shown a motor that wont quit.

Sure Miller and Aldon probably deserve the DROY award over Clayborn. But in the long run I would take an every down RDE with the talent and potential he has shown over either of those guys.

Finally decided to watch last week's INSIDE THE NFL. Thought I'd post this funny shot of jennings.
What's the context? Doesn't seem like something McCarthy would normally do. Or am I mistaken?

Hey, welcome to NFL Gaf. We have missed you all season!
Hey, thanks! I lurk often, don't post much though. Particularly during the games. These threads move too fast on gamedays.

Nice of you to drop in during the playoffs, though. Whats it like being a fan of a team only when the playoffs start? Are you going to disappear once the playoffs are over and come back again during next years playoffs? Just curious!
Ohh, I see.. Is this a common thing around here for a new NFL-GAF poster?? Sorry I didn't post much during the regular season, I probably wont post much during the postseason either fwiw..

I've been a Packers fan forever but if you want to play that game you can. I'll be rooting for Detroit on Saturday, like I said I'd like to beat them a third time.

Miller and Smith could likely split the award, if co-DROYs is something that could be done. They each deserve it and I can see either one winning it. The NFL is a stat league, and Smith has the better stats. Miller is probably considered more of a cog or defining piece of the Bronco D and therefore might get the "intangibles" vote. In other words, Smith might get knocked a little bit by being surrounded by a very good D.

Cool. Good to hear. Just didn't see many Tampa games this year. He was a force his junior year.

Not McCarthy's doing, just Jennings dressed like such after (maybe during, under the coat and such) the Christmas day game.

The clip is from post-game speech.

And yeah, that's pretty much typical NFL-GAF. Usually not an issue unless someone comes spouting off about one thing or another. On the other hand, I wouldn't say it's typical of GoldLion

I'm just amazed that a dude with Erb's Palsy can play in the NFL. He literally has a physical disability that makes it impossible for him to play on the other side of the field. Amazing stuff.

@Pittsburgh- Fuck that place, fuck their fans, fuck their mediocre city (also, already been there)
@Cincinnati- Lame
@Cleveland- Even lamer
@Kansas City
@San Diego-Already went their for a game (the one where Ray killed Sproles on the one to end the game)
@Philadelphia- No thanks, been there with a bunch of friends at 16 and got jumped by a bunch of 40 year olds. Oh yeah, it was preseason. Oh yeah, the game wasn't even played because the turf was so shitty.
@Washington -Been there, lived there, no thanks.
@Houston

So really, it's between Houston and Kansas City, unless there is a good reason to check out any of those other cities. Thoughts?

There's no reason to ever visit Houston unless you have to. If it were me, any excuse to go to San Diego would be good enough. Though if you already live in CA I can see that being less compelling.

Meh, I just don't appreciate the new post status and the first thing you do is call an organization and its players a joke. If you were regularly posting here as a Packers fan, Like an EZ or Legendary, I would totally understand the trash talk. In fact, I would embrace it. Nothing more fun than that, really. But to spout off right away, especially being a fan of the Packers, while being a Junior member (and having this account for exactly a year) is a bit lame.

I hope you stick around, even though this board doesn't need more Packers fans. Its fun in here and most things are meant in good nature. I just don't want you to be bitter after the Lions beat GB next weekend. I'm already prepared for the "1-2 vs. GB" remarks!

Understandable. I actually got the account after being on the wait-list for 4 months and pretty much forgot about it until October. I'm starting to post more now when I have time.

Trust me, if the Packers lose to the Lions this postseason, I won't be spouting garbage about the organization or anything such as "1-2 vs. GB LOLZ" for quite a while.

Here we go.. Adding to the hype.

Why are you trying to make nice with a fucking lions fan? Get the hell outta here.

Dude you've been on GAF all year and just now start posting in the NFL thread? Right as the playoffs start? That's the very definition of bandwagon. A little late now though. By now the bandwagon is so full there's no more room for you and you're going to have to hang on to the trailer hitch like a pair of cheap plastic Truck Nutz.

Let's keep this in perspective. Gold lion has been spouting off all week about destroying the saints. Dude's had it coming.

right? fucking fairweather pink hat packer fan fuckers, outta here

We don't have enough posters to get all parochial and run people off. It'd be nice if there was some diversity as far as fanbases go, but what are you gonna do?

Ok, sit up on your high horse. I'm not a bandwagon fan but you can call it as you want to see it.

America's team?

I bet Madtown is Buckethead's alternate account. He's playing the new guy character to perfection.
No. Just another Packers fan. For what it's worth (nothing), I've been lurking long enough to remember when :lol became :jnc.
I never posted because I assumed I'd get a reaction kind of like this. Oh well.

Stick around past the playoffs and you can be just another packers fan lost in the hundreds of packer fans that post in this thread.

Count me as a Packers fan who rarely posts who has residual kind feelings for the Lions from the Barry Sanders days. I think the playoffs would be a little disappointing without Saints-9ers, tho, so I'm rooting for NOLA.

Because Detroit is going beat the Saints. I only speak in truths boy

I'm ready. I have fam in Detroit so this game will be a family affair. Here kitty indeed.

Detroit is going to make the Superdome into its personal litter box. Come in, take care of business, and leave.
By "take care of business" I mean shit all over your team

I don't know about this team diversity. I'm gonna be pretty annoyed when 20 new Ravens fans show up on here when we cruise to the Super Bowl.

Jimmy Smith for DROY!
