That is the funniest thing ever. What the hell is it? And by that I mean what category animal?

Anyway, good morning RP GAF. I am sick today. I don't want to move... ;.; Help me GAF!

*hands over a blanket and chickensoup.

What's wrong with you? Hope you feel well soon!

For some reason, when my wife and daughter got stuck in CO a couple days ago due to flu, I was inspired to watch Contagion.

Lissar. Do not watch Contagion.

Not quite. Closest thing I have is called a Dinosaur Birchir, which is still classified as an Ichthyoid and not an axolotl. Sorry for the blurry pic, but here's a picture of Barney.

My cats were named Rock and Roll.

Roll we're pretty sure was taken in 2002.

Rock died last year.

Aww... I'm so sorry. I take it you don't have any new buddies now?

Just made some major changes to my schedule for this semester. I really didn't like the direction I was going (computer science), so I dropped computer science II, calculus II, and animal biology and replaced them with British lit, astronomy, and a philosophy class. Feels good man.

Wow. That's a heckuva switch. I'd say you made the right choice, but that's because I suck at math. Good luck!

I have three dogs, but they don't really keep still for photos. I'll have to try to get some pics of them soon.

I also have a snake. He's actually older than me, and is about 9 feet by now.

I LOVE snakes. We used to have a boa constrictor as a kid named Burp. He was lovely.

Nope, I'm planning (at this point, anyway) to major in English.

Don't do it!

I was an English major. Down this road lies horror and death.

What do you actually want to do with it?

You might think to try your hand at journalism. You'd better be writing for your campus newspaper right now, and hopefully you can get a good internship before you graduate. Even if you do everything right, the internet has destroyed the market for journalists. The de-facto entry level position is an unpaid internship. A handful of unpaid writing interns will eventually be offered paid positions.

Academia? There are far more PhD students than there are jobs for professors.

Writer? You don't need to major in English to be a writer. Read a lot and maybe minor in English, and you'll be fine.

Maybe you're smart and dedicated enough to make it work. If you are, that's great. And I'm not trying to tell you not to pursue your dreams, but as I said, I was an English major, and there's not a lot I wouldn't give to be able to time travel back to my first year of college and major in computer science.

I'm moving around too much to take care of pets these days and my parents are too old for me to leave them a new kitten at home to take care of.

Maybe when I finally settle down somewhere, but losing your pets is way more emotionally devastating than I thought it would be. It really is just like losing a friend you've known for years.

I don't know, this past year has been weird. Some mornings I just feel like vomiting (it's not pregnancy, I swear.) I don't know what it is. It's even odder today since it doesn't happen more than once a month but the last time it happened was exactly a week ago. It takes awhile to get over and usually I'm down for the rest of the day.

Haha, while I'm not a germaphone, I can get freaked out by stuff like that sometimes!

tea?
and Stars of the Lid, because it's so relaxing.

Tea is always good, sick or no!

they are amphibians closely related to salamanders. a lot of people say they look like a pokemon. i was looking into less-common aquatic pets because i've already had things like fish, frogs, and turtles in the past, and i thought axolotls are cute. i'd really like to have one, but they do not do well when their water temperature gets much above 20C (room temperature) and we have no AC in our apartment, so it regularly gets hotter than that in here in the summer.

awesome, he looks prehistoric :) i always think it is so cool when people have exotic or uncommon aquarium pets. my great uncle housed a small octopus for a while. once it even escaped, those things are crazy escape artists.

Thanks for the advice. After last semester I know I'm not cut out for computer science. Anyway, I'm still a freshman, and I'm sure at least some English is required for a journalism degree, so I still have some time to figure things out.

I know how you feel. I've lost 3 cats in the last year and it tore me up for a long time.

This may be a stupid question, but do you take any vitamins in the morning? And if so do you eat anything when you take them?

What kind of career do you want to pursue after graduation?

I just realized I haven't gotten out of bed yet. This is the first day I have had to myself since Christmas. What should I do Real-Gaf? Im thinking Korean food and chilling with my 21 year old nephew.

I feel... oddly unhappy today. The sun is shining outside, I have two dates planned this weekend, and a huge career opportunity just opened up for me. And yet, I'm mostly ambivalent.

Man, when I lost my last cat, I cried all night and the next day. I came in to work the next evening with my eyes completely bloodshot. Until someone asked, everyone thought I was high as a kite, even though I had never been known to smoke. All 3 of the unexpected cat losses that I've had to deal with messed me up for a long time.

Okay, nevermind.

Guess you're just pregnant CONGRATULATIONS

Hahaha, 12+ years pregnancy! (nightmare pregnancy?) I've had this happen off and on since I was 16, it's just this year has been particularly bad. I think it might just be a weak stomach...

Don't worry, when your life takes a shitty turn again you'll remember all the missed opportunities of the good times.

I don't know why my dog likes to sleep with only his head under my bed but there you go.

I've always wanted a headless dog.

I know the feeling. Best thing you can do is do a quick workout. Even 10 minutes of jumping about will lift your mood out of the funk. I should do that more too.

Lissar name you kid Jerry. It's a strong name.

My uncle's name is Jerry. He's a huge anime nerd. It's a bit weird since he's like 70.

If Lissar finds out she's pregnant via GAF, I am pretty sure that legally entitles us to name the baby.

GAF could never decide on a name. They'd be too busy arguing whether or not the baby should have a circumcision and how much I should tip the doctor.

Do you eat acidic foods?

Hmm... not recently, no.

That makes me feel worse :< haha

Actually, I feel a lot better if I'm working hard to get out of the dumps. I feel productive and accomplished. I don't think my personality is used to the "good times" at all.

Well, I'm starting my marathon training in the next week or so, but I need shoes...

I take it your uncle is also a manly man that is well endowed. Also, are we talking Gundam or Loli anime? There is a big difference.

I can never even start a damn workout. I am getting fatter too :( Any suggestions to whip me into shape?

Lmao. Sad but true :P

Tip the doctor with the tip.

This sounds like a wonderful idea actually. I might have to go for it.

I'm pretty sure he's into Gundam and all sorts of big robot anime. He got into it in the 70s before all the recent weirdness. I wonder what he thinks of all the new anime these days. Hardly ever see him.

There was a point where I drove around for an hour in my car listening to In the Aeroplane Over the Sea just sobbing the entire time. I still get teary thinking about it.

Managed to find a crappy cell phone pic of my puppies. They love to cuddle together on that chair. Don't think they like posing very much, though.

Our last generation of dogs all died within about 3 years of each other. They all hurt but the last one, my own boy, absolutely destroyed me. I'll still cry sometimes when I remember him.
