mmm no, he doesn't.

The only team that will suffer much is Memphis, and they have suffered from Thabeet enough.

edit: omg i forgot about Tyreke.

The Wizards too, they traded their spot.

Cant blame the Clips I suppose.

So what say you Knicks-age. Who's to blame? At the office, me and my buddies simply feel bad for D'Antoni at this point. We have these extensive talks about how much we hate the Knicks. We come down to all sorts of conclusions. We've agreed on numerous, and they are: Amare is lazy. Chandler is confused. The bench has no concept of the shot clock (*cough*Walker*cough*). Melo has no support. Fields has gone flaccid. Douglas is just about the dumbest player the Knicks have had in the past 20 years.

What's the deal? Is D'Antoni to blame largely? Or is the team completely insubordinate, incapable of following orders, lazy, and lacking common sense?

Looks like Donnie's plan didn't work out after all

I'd say anyone who signs a major free agent contract and averages a quiet 12 and 7 should probably get a good chunk of the blame. Carlos Boozer is seriously having a bigger impact.

That's some generous rounding of numbers.

imo roster construction

amare and tyson dont make sense together because there is no space for amare to be amare

amare and carmelo could make sense together but dont because there is no point guard and there is no spacing and tyson chandler hurts the spacing even more

amare and no point guard makes no sense

tyson and no point guard makes even less sense sense

amare isnt lazy he has simply never been taught how and why to play defense

carmelo IS lazy on defense

tyson is out of his contract year so hes obviously gone back to being shit

we need baron davis to come back and be good

Literally better than DeAndre Camby

Gortat is not better than DJ, this season.

He has been playing like a giant white vagina that has served 10 years in a russian mining camp as the camp hooker. The cheap one, for 5cents, that you don't go to a room with, just a corner.

Kwame + Monta + picks for Dwight

This would screw up the Magic harder than any other trade, please happen.

I don't think GS would be willing to part with Curry and his super cheap 3 mil contract. Losing Jameer wouldn't make sense for ORL since that is one of the more reasonable contracts they have on their books.

I look forward to Otis being Otis.

you mean knowing? yes

Malone was the only person someone can make an argument for, and that was 1999-2000 Malone by the time he played as many minutes as Zombie Mamba.

So that's debatable, but sure let's say Kobe's easily in the second best shape / condition of anyone who's ever played in as many minutes

ORL gets what in such a trade?

(your reply)

LOL, good luck with that!

Lakers can wait until the off-season for Dwight to come to L.A. via S&T, with Bynum heading to GS instead of ORL.

So yeah, we will be crying. Crying tears of joy. Enjoy GS's trash.

I'd dare suggest that Jason Kidd, Steve Nash and Grant Hill are all in "better shape" injury wise, than kobe. Ray Allen also comes to mind.

I'm still salty that Malone's first major injury had to happen in the playoffs with the Lakers.

I still think the 04 squad would have chipped with a non-gimpy Malone.

no, Malone hit that mark in his 97-98 MVP season.

Except Dwight would probably not opt-out of his current deal so he can retain his bird rights and not lose 30 million dollars. Plus he gets to play with Monta who is better than Kobe.

Maybe better conditioning, but those guys can't play at kobe's level. Ray ray is better conditioned but not a better basketball player...and Nash hasn't hit Kobe's minutes, they got drafted together and kobe's been in a million more playoff games. And Kidd is just a marginal role player at this point, albeit a great one

If Monta stays in GS who goes to ORL?

ORL just gave Jrich a contract, Jameer's contract is sane compared to others, they're high on Ryan Anderson and I don't think GS would give up Curry since he's on a cheap contract. Curry + Kwame + Biedrins? and picks

Their rosters are so mis-matched, I'm interested in seeing who is swapped.

I haven't counted all of malone's minutes by season but he played like 12,000 more than kobe total and played 6 seasons after that MVP one, the math doesn't add up.

Either way, Malone 1a, Kobe 1b

70% D'Antoni, 10% Walsh/Grunwald, 20% the players.

D'Antoni is an idiot. It is clear that Steve Nash made his career, and not the other way around. He is incapable of adjusting, and knows nothing of Xs and Os short of "LET'S GO LET'S GO LET'S GO" and "SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT". He is so inflexible that he won't allow even the slightest inkling of defense - an integral part of an actual basketball team. Fuck this guy.

Walsh left a good foundation, even though he allowed us to cannibalize all of our depth for Melo. That kind of sucked, because we don't have the kind of parts that would work to fill in our holes - most notably, a point guard. Grunwald took what he had left, and while he did right to get Chandler, we still have nothing else to work with in the rest of the roster.

Some of the players I have problems with the most right now, like Fields and Douglas, are just being used wrong. Fields and Douglas should be part of the first group off the bench. They'd be assets there, ESPECIALLY if the Knicks had an adequate back-up PG so they could be in the right positions for them (SG and SF). In a perfect world, the healthy Knicks lineup would be:

Davis
Shumpert
Anthony
Stoudemire
Chandler

with (decent back-up PG), Douglas, Fields, Harrelson and Jeffries the next set, and Balkman/Jordan/Novak and whatever other crap playing rarely.

Aside from that, I wish that some players - namely Stoudemire - made the SLIGHTEST effort on D. It's ridiculous that nobody really makes effort. It's ridiculous that the Knicks are so stupid on D that they switch on every possession and get fucked over with bigs on guards, guards on forwards and centers, and people just standing confused as fat Diaw styles on them forever.

In short, firedantoni.com. Get Davis healthy. Get a real back-up PG so that people can serve as bench depth. Stop shooting goddamn 3s.

Hmm, let's see here...

Lakers:
Hollywood limelight
Endorsements aka a means to make up any money lost by not resigning w/ GS
Kobe/Pau
Tons of nationally televised games
A genuine chance at a chip

Warriors:
Monta

Yeah, you're right. How can he NOT re-sign? GS it is!

No, he has 14,462 more minutes played than Kobe. He has 12,227 minutes played after that MVP season, he would have hit that mark early in the 97-98 season.

Malone 1.

The local media in Utah is trying to start a locker room controversy because of Raja Bell getting diminished, but still way too many, minutes. The writers and reporters here just suck.

Genuine chance at a chip? with what? kobe taking up 2/3 of the cap? and his contract the other third? their bench would be worse than the knicks / nets bench. Yeah, fuck, me sign me up for some of that shit! not to mention, you'll see more Odom type moves out of that front office as they try to avoid the stifling luxury takes that comes in effect season after next.

And considering where the warriors are, any endorsement deals he would have got as a laker he gets on the Warriors.

And its Dwight, he gets a ton of national games now.

What other trivial things are we going to add? do Adidas want him in LA!!!!!?!?!??!?!

Kobe will never win a ring because he shoots too much. Gotcha.

Dat GS bench, watch out now!

Luxury tax? TimeWarner/Lakers TV deal = $3 BILLION alone.

You're kidding yourself if you believe he'd get the same endorsement deals and coverage by playing in GS over LA. So just stop it, it's embarassing. I get people like to shit on LA, really I do. But at some point you gotta admit when you're wrong. Playing on the Lakers, a top franchise in the league and a marketable brand worldwide (ask China), alongside Kobe Bryant... yeah, GS is gonna match that with Monta.

The lakers are marketable in China? i don't think so. Kobe is marketable in China. The cavs got investors from china buying parts of their club. Do you think thats because of the great cavaliers brand, or the LBJ brand? stop kidding your self.

Lakers are the most followed basketball team on Twitter worldwide. Twitter is one of the top two social networking platforms in the world, agreed? Lakers are also in the top 10 for sports franchises followed on Twitter, a list dominated by soccer clubs.

Yeah.

China is buying where it can buy, teams who need in influx of money. Has shit to do with specific players at this point. See the New Jersey Nets.

I'm not denying the Laker brand, but if you think people in China are buying Luke Walkton jerseys by the bucket load, you're kidding yourself and living in an alternate reality. The fact is, internationally, just as it is in the US, the franchise doesn't make the player, the player makes the franchise.

Hopefully the Bucks take note and get rid of Scott Skiles, Hammonds, and somehow trade Brockman and Larry Sanders. Hell, i'd rather have Dan Gadzuric than Brockmon....*sigh*
