Hmm, let's see here...

Lakers:
Hollywood limelight
Endorsements aka a means to make up any money lost by not resigning w/ GS
Kobe/Pau
Tons of nationally televised games
A genuine chance at a chip

Warriors:
Monta

Yeah, you're right. How can he NOT re-sign? GS it is!
I'm sorry, but "endorsements" is fucking silly. He'll be getting enough of that no matter where he goes.

I'm not denying the Laker brand, but if you think people in China are buying Luke Walkton jerseys by the bucket load, you're kidding yourself and living in an alternate reality. The fact is, internationally, just as it is in the US, the franchise doesn't make the player, the player makes the franchise.

Dwight isn't popular enough to push the GS brand worldwide. He just isn't.

Being a star in Los Angeles is vastly different than being a star in a small market. Especially if you're teamates are already internationally known.

Monta? Really?

Pau is known in Europe. Kobe worldwide. Dwight would benefit immensely from having those two as his running mates. Also, I failed to push the whole Pau/Dwight front court.

Just one more reason why it makes sense.

I see what you are saying, but seriously the Lakers and the Celtics are two of the most known franchises in the world.

It would not surprise me if (for arguments sake) that people in China are still buying Bird and Magic jerseys.

And to be fair, no one buys Luke Walton jerseys.

You can also throw the bulls and jordan in there.

We aren't debating about the US though, right?

I mean you live outside of the US, do you ever see jerseys from American sports?

Kobe will never win a ring because he shoots too much. Gotcha.

Dat GS bench, watch out now!

Luxury tax? TimeWarner/Lakers TV deal = $3 BILLION alone.

You're kidding yourself if you believe he'd get the same endorsement deals and coverage by playing in GS over LA. So just stop it, it's embarassing. I get people like to shit on LA, really I do. But at some point you gotta admit when you're wrong. Playing on the Lakers, a top franchise in the league and a marketable brand worldwide (ask China), alongside Kobe Bryant... yeah, GS is gonna match that with Monta.

No one knew who Lebron was because he played in Cleveland.

Hopefully the Bucks take note and get rid of Scott Skiles, Hammonds, and somehow trade Brockman and Larry Sanders. Hell, i'd rather have Dan Gadzuric than Brockmon....*sigh*

I think Skiles is doing as good of a job as anyone could, considering what you have to work with on that team.

I'm hearing Bogust is gonna be out against the Clips on Saturday?

Out for more games for personal reasons (not related to him directly). Guessing an ill relative or something :(

And it's fucking laughable that NOW the Warriors are going after Dwight, and willing to give up Curry, yet they weren't for Chris Paul.

Still the idea of a David Lee/Dwight Howard front court arouses me.

Yeah, not huge amounts tho. I see more Celtics / Bulls gear than Lakers. I did see a steph curry one last year too.

But you only see basket ball gear, you don't see any other US sports apparel (ok, maybe a few baseball caps). And thats partially because it gets so f'n hot here a singlet is all you can wear.

Yeah, i see a LOT of paul pierce stuff around town too. i would never have guessed he would be that popular internationally, but when you're the best shooter in celtics history... anything is possible.

Paul Pierce, best shooter in Celtics history?

In Sydney I mainly see old jerseys. And not retro, I mean just old ones. Like old Jordan, old Vince, old Hornets (LJ/Zo). Occasionally you'll see a Heat Quad L with Wade or LeBron.

Never see Paul Pierce, mainly KG for Celts.

edit: actually I've seen some Durant ones, that would be the most recent.

I've always wondered how Pau Gasol's popularity in Spain changed when he was traded to LA.

Raging, maybe you can enlighten me.

doesnt matter, they follow the player not the jersey

same way the kings were super popular with serbs when peja and vlade were on there but now no one gives a shit lol

i mean you can see it with the rubio nuthugging.

It absolutely matters Duki, you don't know what you're saying Duki.

If real pic January is teaching me something is that none of you know how to take a fucking picture of yourselves, fuck.

Wade and Lebron most likely out tonight.

Nationally televised game too on TNT, guess everyone will have to watch Bosh put up 40 on the Hawks.

If bosh could drop 40 while undoubtedly having double teams coming his way, that might bring his status back up to being in the "Big 3" again.

Yeah, and that was basically my point, they follow the player, not the team. Lakers being who they are certainly helped launch Kobe, and the same for the Celtics with PP. But In stores here you only see the BIG players, Nash, Bogut, Rose, Dwight, Kobe, (i don't recall seeing a pau one)KG, PP, LBJ, Wade. There are importers who stock others, but they come at a premium.

Paul Pierce, best shooter in Celtics history?

So he declared him self when he won the 3pt shoot out at the all star game.
