Thanks, last time I was there there were some decent bargains such as Halo Reach which I didn't buy as I wanted to play in the original language, my local Media Markt in Bern is shit for bargains in comparison.

Good call! I completely forgot there was a demo. Tried it last night and, while the shooting mechanics feel solid enough, I don't think it's for me. £10 saved.

In the interests of posting bargains (and keeping with the shooter theme), Play have Bulletstorm for £7.99 on 360 and PS3.

I thoroughly enjoyed Rage and Bulletstorm. Some of my best gaming fun of 2011.
Both for £18? Absolute no-brainer.

Yeah, usually both MediaMarkt here in Geneva only have shitty games in the bargain bin, stuff like movie tie in games/bottom of the barrel crap, games that you would not want even for free. Sometimes you can find a nice deals, like a Yakuza 3 for 9frs that i got last summer.

Might go check today if i can find Alice on 360 for 10frs here.

Absolutely correct. Both were really good fun, really well-made shooters. People moan about how CoD is imitated in other shooters, and yet here were two that a) ignored CoD, forging their own identities and b) were both really good and criminally underperformed. Deal of the (near) year, this.
 
Is Xenoblade becoming a game that is impossible to purchase soon and therefore become insanely expensive soon? It seems like it is out of stock everywhere I go.
 
So Amazon also cancelled my MGS HD collection pre-order. Should I contact them or will I only get a copypaste reply?

Yeah I just started Bulletstorm last night after picking it up for £10 a couple of months ago* and it's so much fun. Tragic that it won't be getting a sequel.

*Never had a backlog before I started reading this thread...

It's showing as being in stock at most of the large online stores, although aside from Game's £10 offer for both versions I've never seen it below retail price. Considering how stock has lingered around this long I can't see it hitting crazy prices, most likely it'll just hold it's value ala. Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Not once has Amazon.co.uk honored a misprice for me. I don't know how they managed to get a good reputation for that. I've ordered 4 things from them that were misprices (and not even grossly mispriced, except for the Vita stick) and they haven't honored any of them.

Anybody want a £2 discount code for Gamestop? It must be used before 31st Jan and unfortunately there is a minimum order value of £20. Gamestop seems a bit expensive so maybe it's not very useful, but it's possible there is a decent deal to be had.

Also had the MGS HD cancellation email from Amazon. This is despite it being available for £20 ish for days before I even ordered, not impressed.

On the live chat now, not having any success, although the fact he's calling it "Gear Solid HD Collection" is amusing me a bit at least.

Have sent them an email after getting nowhere with the live chat. I'll update if I get a response, not very hopeful though, it seems from the live chat they have a stock set of quotes to use in the event of order cancellations.

I have the feeling that it did ok at retail, but was horribly overshipped and thus dropped in price fast. Now DD has to follow up.

Seems like S-E wants to make as much as they can from this game as quickly as possible.
