NFL 2011 Wild Card |OT| Where Everyone Is In Like Flynn

it was only for a year I think, if that. 1995? It was probably just a way of easing him in, not intended as a long term thing. And I don't think they used it much in the playoffs. O'Donnell shitting the bed in the super bowl probably accelerated their plans with Stewart.

A fucking Jets fan is bitching about Robert Kraft? Fuck that noise. Without Kraft there is no 2011-12 NFL season. Fucking Jets fans. smh

The 2004 Patriots mauled Colts receivers and got away with it to the point that they 'changed' the rules the next season. Blame it on that, not the Brady rule.

LOL

Yeah, where would this league be without the great Bob Kraft.

Yeah, real fans are here all the time.
No matter how many times their team gets blown out in a row!

Didn't help that Kordell wanted no part of being a WR again. :/ To think we could have had the Maddox years for real

I don't think the QB/WR/RB thing ever works. Just being a good athlete doesn't mean you can just slide into to any position on the football field.

Was asking myself a few days ago where would Denard Robinson play? Great athlete but difficult fit at the pro level.

I do too, man. Fuck the haters, they can have their 3-0 games with their defense and their Frozen Tundras. The next moves by the league should be mandated that every team play in domes and after that we should shorten the field to fifty yards.

The AFL is the harbinger of footballing perfection.

On the personal side, my stubborn damned kid still isn't born. Just found out today they'll be inducing Sunday morning since my wifes labor is going so slowly (going on the fourth day now) and she's barely made much progress.

8:30am. I hope the game will be available on the TV in the labor and delivery room.

Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler has announced that he will forego his senior season and enter the 2012 NFL draft.

Osweiler becomes the second quarterback to announce his intentions to leave school with a year of NCAA eligibility remaining, following Stanford’s Andrew Luck. Baylor’s Robert Griffin III is also expected to announce that he’s turning pro, while USC’s Matt Barkley and Oklahoma’s Landry Jones have announced that they will stay in school.

Unlike Luck, Griffin, Barkley and Jones, Osweiler is not viewed as a likely first-round pick.

The most noteworthy thing about Osweiler is his size: At 6-foot-8, he’ll tie Dan McGwire as the tallest quarterback in NFL history. McGwire was a major bust after the Seahawks took him in the first round of the 1991 NFL draft, so Osweiler will not want to invite that comparison.

Osweiler initially committed to play basketball at Gonzaga before changing his mind and deciding to focus on football. In 2011, his only season as the Sun Devils’ starter, Osweiler completed 326 of 516 passes for 4,036 yards, with 26 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

First world problems. j/k

Seriously man, good luck! Im kind of glad both my kids were from c-sections and didnt have to do the waiting game.

Raji and Suh with the same number of Pro Bowl votes. :jnc, no wonder Suh feels like he has to stomp people and thug it up on the field. If he didn't do that stuff, no one would ever talk about him.

There is just no spot for him in the NFL. He is as fragile as they come. He sits out a series in every game it seems after getting leveled.

I know, right. :jnc It'll be DVR'd worst case.

There would be something awesome about my kid being born during a Giants playoff game though. A Giants win would be even more awesome.

I would bring a radio just in case, but the reception may be bad inside a hospital. If the Giants win, will you be pushing for Elisha Victoria Hakeemia Futurevoid as a name?

Denard Robinson won't make it as a pro, at any position that I can think of outside of maybe kick returner but even then the prospects are limited. I think even making him a running back or slot receiver while he's still at Michigan would severely cut down his effectiveness. Literally, his greatest role is as a running quarterback against low-tier defenses.

On the bright side, for once I don't have to go into the beginning of the postseason already thinking about the draft. That may end as early as tomorrow, but the novelty is nice for now. The Lions not having a pick in the top ten almost feels completely foreign to me at this point.

Thats why the NFL app on my Verizon phone comes in really handy. I can stream the radio broadcast from either team or the national coverage with one button push.

I didn't even realize I could do this until towards the end of the season. I fired up Denver's radio on a lark and listened to the homer announcers go crazy as Tebow enabled another miracle.

Not even posted in the College Topic.

No one knows who he is.

RG3, I just don't know how he'll be in the NFL.

He can run, but he's not quite on Vick or Cunningham's level, but he's also not like Cam either (Cam's a Fast DE that can throw the ball).
He's got an ok arm, and he throws nice long rainbows, that are somehow accurate. But when I see him throw the ball, it's not quite as natural as most quarterbacks. But it works, at least in the Big 12/10/8.
6'2" 220 lbs, is an ok size for a QB. Bigger than Brees, same size as Rodgers, smaller than Brady/Manning/Rooflesburger.

not that it would help for playoffs, but don't verizon customers get free streaming of NFL network and Red Zone?

when the NFL was with sprint, they had NFLN streaming, the year they switched to Verizon they added Redzone, not sure what they have still.

Oregon junior running back LaMichael James has his agent and training plans in order and is in process of formally informing the school that, as expected, he will enter the NFL draft, sources said Friday.

James rushed for 1,805 yards and scored 18 touchdowns this season for the Ducks, who won the Pac-12 championship and the Rose Bowl Game Presented by Vizio.

The 5-foot-9, 185-pound James had 159 yards and a touchdown in Oregon's 45-38 victory over Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. He is the fourth-highest ranked running back by ESPN Scouts Inc.

Virginia Tech running back David Wilson said Friday he'll skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft.

The speedy Wilson rushed for 1,709 yards and nine TDs this season. The ACC player of the year was limited to 32 yards in the conference championship game loss to Clemson and ran for 82 yards in a Sugar Bowl loss to Michigan.

Wilson said the NFL's draft advisory board projects him as a second-round pick and he believes he can improve his status at the NFL combine. He said he plans to hire an agent in the coming weeks, and the history major from Danville hopes to return to Virginia Tech at some point to finish his degree.

how much does this cost?

I think the Browns are more likely to take Tannehill or this Osweiler fellow than RG3 judging by the Holmgren&Heckert press conference yesterday,
