Alas, I'm not. I only lived there ~2 years. I'm just from boring America (sometimes). I really miss Scottish accents...

I think it was my dad that told me "never start a fight, but if you are in one, make sure to end it." That's probably the only valuable piece of advice he ever gave me.

A good lesson. Maybe that's the same one the kid who punched me got. Not that I was a bully or anything. I just thought being aggressive was cool (and I was so small that I doubt I did any real damage. I was just annoying, I'm sure). My dad never gave me any valuable advice which probably goes a lot toward explaining why I was such a little dick in my younger years.

It was really not that exciting, I assure you. Long gray skirts and gray cardigans with gray ties (this is where I learned to tie a tie). Graygraygraygraygray. As if Scotland wasn't gray enough. :P
 
Not really a schoolyard fight, really, but my best/most embarrassing story about violence in school comes from 7th grade. A rather mean girl I only sorta knew was picking on a friend of mine; she had just pushed him on the floor and was charging towards him. I was standing next to the wall, and innocently stuck my foot out to trip her. She fell flat on her face.

She rose with an expression like that of an angry bull. I immediately knew I was in deep shit...sure enough, she started winding up for a punch. I thought she'd go for the face, so I ducked...right into her fist, as she was aiming for my stomach. Awesome. Caught me right in the eye. Best shiner I've ever had.

There was a huge kid in my 8th grade class. Football player, probably about 5'11", around 280lbs, a huge dick to everyone.

I was crushing on this girl in school. Like, crushing hard. And she was my best friend. It was one of those things where, when I was sick, I would fake feeling well so I could go to school and hang out with her.

So, one day before class, we're all walking down from the gym to our homerooms. The big kid is stepping on the back of my shoes and it's annoying, but you don't grow up brown in a small town in Tennessee and not be used to bullies. So I ignore him and keep talking. Eventually, when he realizes that isn't bothering me, he reaches forward, grabs my friend's breasts, and squeezes. She lets out a ghastly scream and before I knew it, I was punching him in the face.

Broke his nose!

He broke my teeth.

When we were sitting in the principal's office later, we shook hands and both realized we only really disliked each other because we both got made fun of for being different. Not a single problem after that.

During my school years, I can only remember being in one fight... with my best friend. We didn't speak for a year.

It all started with my friend telling our teacher that I had done something stupid (another kid later admitted it was him). This made me really angry, since I couldn't believe he could do something like this to me. The rest of the day I called him stuff, but at the end of the day he had enough and attacked me from behind. He lands a punch on my shoulder, I turn around throw my books at him, grab him and punch him three times in the face. A teacher sees what's happening and tries to separate us. I go for one last kick... and hit the teacher. (Teacher called me Mike Tyson for a month after.) We both go to see the principal, we're raging, but also scared since this is our first (and only) time in a situation like this. We each give our side of the story, but we are too stubborn to talk to eachother. We agree to not fight again. We don't speak for a year. Here's the problem: We basically have the same friends, so this was hell to them.

How did this get solved: The guys had enough, did a classic "There's something you need to see, come with me" on both of us. I go with some of the boys, then he arrives with some of the other boys. They formed a ring around us and gave us two choices:

Either you guys beat the crap out of eachother and end this now, or you be civilized and talk this through. I'm not really voilent, so I went with the second option, so did my friend. We're no longer best friends, but we do keep in touch every now and then.

LOL, good work! I was in a bad mood one day at school, classes got out, hallway was filled with kids, and I was in a rush. Someone shoulderchecked me and I spun around to punch and it was this little girl! I felt terrible. :(

I think it was the same year I was out at a club and this girl comes up to me and slaps me in the face. She said it was throwing her boyfriend out. Now, I was friends with the DJ, but I threw no one out. I saw her boyfriend later that night, he was about twice the size of me!

Only fight I was in was in 5th grade. I didn't fight back, kid called me a peach, I started laughing, kid faught harder, teachers broke us up, me still laughing. Kid got in trouble, I got nothing. I don't think I would do very well in a real fight

I remember being in fights, I remember being bad in them, but I can't seem to recall any specific fights.
But I hated schoolyard fights.
