Need to score. With cj on the other side we have to stay well ahead. I have huuuuuge respect for megatron. He is the best receiver and I think even better than AJ.

600+ yards of offense. Deep bombs flying all over the place. 45 points.

Holy fuck. And this is a playoff team. Amazing.

Edit: Saints broke a record for most yards. Cue game stoppage for excessive ballwashing.

omg, making history

An epic battle between the eff you TD and the back door cover brewing here. Al Michaels is gonna crack and mention it, I can feel it.

Megatron is the best in the league, hands down. Ain't over 'til the fat lady sings.

It's not over yet! LIons quick score.. come on!

Man I hate this new NFL.. it's a complete dis-grace of what real football use to be... oh wow look.. 40td a year by everyone... 5,000 yds passing.. average..

i miss the days of 30tds, 3000 yds were elite.

*Sigh*

See that's the sort of stat that I really didn't want to see even if the Lions lost. This 4th quarter has just been completely atrocious for the Lions and especially the defense. The Saints finally adopted the Stafford-to-Calvin mantra of "fuck it, just hurl it deep" and it's working to perfection.

I want to be excited about next season but I need to see what we do in the offseason first.

As a Texans fan I will say that Calvin Johnson is the best WR in the game. After that it's a tossup to Fitzgerald and non-hamstring AJ.

Hot. Fucking. Trash

Time for Brees to get another one of dem records! I assume he'll take a sack to get the correct yardage.

You have to remember this:

Drew Brees is going to be 33 in a week or so.
Michael Vick is 31.
Tony Romo is 31.
Eli Manning is 31.
Aaron Rodgers is 28.
Alex Smith is 27.
Matt Ryan is 26.
Matthew Stafford is 23.

If Stafford makes it to the usual QB age of 38 to 40 before the retirement word comes up (i.e., the injury bug doesn't bite), he has 15 to 17 more seasons left in him, possibly. That's a lot of time.

Guys like Brady, both Mannings, Romo, Brees and Vick are in the middle to end of their careers. Heck, Alex Smith has been around so long, he might as well be in that group, too :jnc

But the Staffords, Ryans, Newtons and Rodgers of the football world are not at that point yet, and they all have time to continue to grow and get better. I don't even think Stafford has hit the maximum of his potential yet. He is a young QB; he will make some mistakes. But he's a playoff-caliber QB.

The problem is the Lions' defense, as it always has been. They must get serious in the draft and free agency about improving the defensive back and linebacking cores.
