Underwhelming day of football.

Hell naw!Greatest day of football ever!

After 9 years of complete mediocrity Dre finally got into the playoffs

Congrats to Saints.

Obviously the best team in the NFC. Good luck in the playoffs.

Our team took a big step toward the future. What a player with CJ and our young 23 year old QB stud.

No reason to think you won't be here next year. NFC East is a joke, Bears suck if Cutler goes down, Has Atlanta won a playoff game under Smith? Tampa Bay and Minny aren't there yet. Carolina may be your only threat.

What a bunch a wussies you guys are. Pad dem stats, this ain't HS football. Men paid to play some defense, play some damn defense.

Run up that score!! Do what Belichick would do!!!! haha

Part of the problem is the pussification of the NFL. If you hit a homer and grandstand your way around the bases, the next batter up is going to get chin music. In hockey, if you run a star into the boards, you can be sure that your own star is going to take a shot the next time he's on the ice.

So this racking up the score and piling on has no repercussions. Sure, Suh could come in and stomp on Brees on the next play, but he'd get tossed out and suspended. Part of the reason guys like Brees are setting records is because their unis are still clean at the end of the game. They're still fresh. Defenses aren't allowed to beat the living hell out of offenses and win the war of attrition. It has become a game where you hope your D can stop the O once the field shortens in the red zone.

good game Lions fans. I know there was some fucked up reffing in this game but you guys hung with us and were a legitimate threat. I really respect the talent of your team and what you have accomplished. You need to be proud of your team because they played with pride and really look like a yearly contender. I think your defense is good but this league is now so pro-offense its kind of ridiculous. I wish you luck next year.

i know it's obvious but the lions should really spend their entire draft on D. i wouldn't even say d-line is off limits. lions have no true pass rushers and so when they go with a 4 man line and cover, they get nothing and get picked apart

Except interior D-Line right? I mean, it'd be hilarious to see them draft another one just for the lulz.

i wonder who the saints will be playing in the NFC title game. on one hand, you would say the packers rematch. on the other hand, what if a team like the falcons beat the giants and then made it to the nfc title game? could the saints beat a team THREE times in one year?

i will be exciting to see what happens in the divisional between the falcons/giants @ packers while the saints get their bye week

It is unarguably a worse sport than it was just 10 years ago. But all the other sports are so terrible in comparison, I continue to watch

No, unfortunately we seem to always run into the teams that end up winning the NFC.

Good game, Saints and Saints-GAF. Well...good 3 quarters at any rate, I'm genuinely embarrassed by that 4th quarter pull-away.

Still, the Saints played better when it counts most and deserve the win. Good luck in the next round.

As for the Lions, this is not the sendoff I wanted at all. I'm okay with losing given that the team was already "ahead of schedule" for what my expectations were this season, but getting blown out in the end, both in this game and the defensive meltdown in Green Bay, causes me to walk away from what's been a really good year with a very sour taste in my mouth (FMT jokes notwithstanding). The defense underwhelmed, to say the least, and it's hard for me to say with 100% confidence that things will get tangibly better on that.

2011 is in the books for us now. Well, at least we had one more week to fend off draft talk.

The hell you talking about? The media told me that Brees is birthing another baby for his Super Bowl victory speech!

Hope you guys make it to the Final Game. Its your Conference to lose.

Thankfully, Tebow will grace your screen tomorrow!

I have club level tickets to the game tomorrow. I can't wait to watch the Steelers lose to Tebow and his disciples. I'm guessing a lot of Steelers' fans have that sinking feeling but don't want to admit it.

IT SHALL BE EPIC.

A sour ending to a good season. We have glaring deficiencies we must address for us to compete for the SB. The o-line and our secondary are especially weak.
You mean the "young 23 stud" that chucks balls off his back foot hoping for Megatron to bail him out?
No. That's a poor assessment.

So, Goodell had to script an upset right? No amount of writing or ref help in the world could help Cowardly so.....TEBOW GUARANTEED VICTORY

Gonna just post the name again.

Pierre Thomas.

The most known unknown? No one cares about him!

This is what I said earlier this week. I knew the run game was going to be the difference.

Depends on the health of Delmas. He practiced this week, so I assume he will plan and he's one of the few safeties that can match up with someone like Jimmy Graham. Also, Mark Ingram being gone doesn't hurt.

That's placing a lot on one guy. What's stopping NO from running on Detroit? I would worry about that first of all. If the running game has any semblance of success, the passing game is going to open right up.
