71 - After coming on after 60 mins, Paul Scholes made 71 passes (97% complete), more than any Man City player in the entire game. Comeback.

Why's Fergie picked such hard draws for us?
1 - Liverpool have won only one of their last 11 FA Cup ties against Manchester United (including replays)

Aye, nee one really cares about Boro (not even Boro fans).

Oh no, thats not right at all.

I'm currently at Teesside University, and the club were trying to give tickets away to students earlier in the season and still couldn't fill the stadium.

Times must have changed then. Back in the 90's Boro were a heavily supported club, some of my mates were and are fans so I used to get regaled with Boro stuff all the time.

But why though. I mean Im not a fan of gambling businesses being our sponsors but money is money. I just don't get why this is all going down? They sponsor the league cup nowadays too dont they?

Santa Casa da Misericórdia and the Portuguese Casino Association filed a complaint against BWin for illegal gambling activity. The court found them guilty and now the league and the league's cup are forced to remove all BWin sponsorship.
I'm more worried about Oliveira's RTPN interview, quite frankly. And this too.

It's just a sponsorship, AFAIC. Someone else will come in. A Portuguese company would be cool.

I love me a bit of Kun:

"I want to thank the fans of @MCFC who inspired us today. If we stand together, both fans and players, we can achieve important feats."

ended atalanta's undefeated home run, feels good man.

Sunderland or Boro? ;D

To be fair most clubs offer 'free' tickets to the local schools.

During the game today ITV said that during the rehearsal for the draw Sunderland were drawn with Newcastle. That would have been much more interesting.

Looking forward to the next derby at any rate. Newcastle have had a brilliant season so far and we have finally turned things around and are playing some good football. Should be a good match.

Hey rvy! I haven't seen you post in weeks!

I just got up and saw the highlights of the Manchester derby. Close one, that.

Also, how the hell did Scholes make an appearance for United??? I don't remember any news articles yesterday announcing his comeback, so is he just allowed to show up and kit out for an FA cup match? I had to double check to make sure I wasn't still asleep when the commentator said "Scholes passes...". Don't you have to register your squad well before the game or something? Well, I guess it was a very positive thing for United, they need someone like him who can keep possession.

The problem with Boro is that the board themselfs are giving up on it. The fans were one of the most amazing fans like 10 years ago, but since the club have been demoted to CHampionship, the board seems to mess up the player slection and the atmosphere surrounding the club. Southhampton is a prime example of fans and board acting like class while the team is getting through rough time.

Not really surprised about the draw, could be much easier but you have to be capable of beating all challengers if you want to win cups. Either the team will show up and put on a good run, or the players will have a less congested fixture list this season.

Wasn't able to watch the game today so had to follow BBC's text commentary on my phone, not ideal. I'll hold complete judgement on proceedings until I can take a good look at them, but I'll take a win, tense towards the end or not.

Stadium holds around 35,000 I think and the average attendance for this season so far is only 18,164 (Source: ESPN). I think the relegation from the EPL and then poor form in the Championship last season led to the drop.

Thanks for the info both. I havent really paid much attention since the 90's. Shame, at the time Boro fans were always up for a laugh and travelled in very big numbers.
