I thought Cesc would score plenty in Spain. I know he plays in quite an advanced position in a great great team but I think having the dynamic edge which you pick up in the PL is giving him something extra. That header and the one he scored against Madrid are the perfect example. Brilliant goals.

Eurocup's 9 avobe Villa, Torres, Negredo, Soldado or Llorente.

Blatant Handball

This should have been a penalty. it seems none of the refs caugh it as it got rather hectic in the box at that time.

I find the assumption that Real Madrid will not drop points in the remainder of the season (except losing the Clasico at Camp Nou) quite implausible. There will still be twists in this season, I'm sure. Although with Barca's form being so erratic, I think they will keep dropping points as well. First season for Pep where he doesn't win "everything" (I know, he hasn't won every every everything, but that's been the feeling)?

As long as Barca win the champions league I'll be happy. Although like you said the seasons not over, Madrid are only 5 points ahead with the second Clasico still to play, and you wouldn't bet against barca to win that match.

Last years Madrid were never at less than 3 or 2 points behind Barcelona.

In La Liga for Madrid and Barcelona is a very long distance. Really.

Harry Redknapp has sparked a massive transfer scramble for Newcastle’s Demba Ba by revealing his release clause is around HALF the £10million mooted over the weekend.

Officials at St James’ Park have been desperate to keep a lid on the fact that the striker, who has netted 15 times this season, is available for the right fee.

But asked about a £10m release clause, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: “I think you will find it is a lot less than that.”

Asked if was as little as £7m, Redknapp added: “Even less than that.”

A whole host of clubs are set to investigate poaching the predator who destroyed Manchester United last week with an outstanding display.

Liverpool, Sunderland, Everton and QPR are all in the hunt for reinforcements up front. Ba left West Ham last summer as he had a clause in his contract saying he could quit if they were relegated.

Ba has blown away fears over a knee injury that prompted Stoke to pull out of a move for him last year.

What a vile rubberfaced tax dodging cretin this man is. How does Redknapp get away with this?

So, news on Kagawa:

He's got an offer for a new contract since summer 2011. Still doesn't want to sign it or even talk about it and wants to "focus on playing football".

I don't like this. Sounds like he just wants to play well the rest of the season to fuck off in summer. But on the other side, Shinji seems like a totally nice guy and maybe he just wants more money. And with his season so far, he can't really justify higher wages. So maybe he wants to show what he's worth? Yeah, no. He'll probably be gone :(

You should probably be pointing the finger at Demba Ba or his agent. Spurs don't find out this info without one of them making contact or putting the info out there somewhere.

Of course, but even then why the hell is he discussing the contract details of a player who doesn't play for his club?

Well out of order.

No, of course not, but what right does the manager of Tottenham Hotspur have to talk about contract details of a player at Newcastle United? The man is a hypocritical wheeler dealer. He was crying like someone had smacked his chops during the Summer when Chelsea were trying to 'poach' Modric. 6 months later he's telling everyone how to poach a player at another club... great form.

Haha he also declared his interest in Samba this weekend. Harry Redknapp bloody loves the transfer window!

The FA are as much in his pocket as are all the bungs and backhanders he's taken over the years. Horrible. Never been a fan, but the last 48 hours have really annoyed me.

Yeh, I agree with you both about the hypocritical aspect; especially after the Modric stuff in the summer. He's 'wheeling and dealing' already 'Arry, typical him.

A few people believe Spurs are looking to add two considerable signings during this window. Probably a CB and a striker.

I've no idea what he's doing. And he's talking about a player that we're never ever going to sign so I just don't understand why he's doing it. Really needs to shut up about this.

Samba would be a beastly signing for Spurs though...sorry Jeff...that would be massive for Spurs.

Everyone please watch this just to see Adel Taarabt do what he does best, absolutely make a mug of some Norwich defender. Shame he can't go much else at the top level, but those skills. God. Damn.

You guys should be ok with Reus replacing Kagawa.

Some game. Great effort from the lads. I knew we wouldn't get beat today. The last 2 games hurt too much for it to happen for a 3rd game.

Bollocks, Michael.

Totally different players, though. I want Götze - Kagawa - Reus to happen, could be up there with Bayern's attacking midfield row.

The main problem I'm having with this whole thing is that I love Shinji lol. I really want him to stay and to be honest, I don't have a feeling what he'll do. It's probably not for the money, he's earning next to nothing for a player like him right now, so he probably would have signed that contract by now. And that makes the whole thing even more weird.

Yeah, I like him too, but I think it could be about money after all. I he ever played for Man Utd or Real/Barca his fame in Japan would probably explode and he'd earn millions in advertising contracts. He could easily surpass Nakata in that regard, who just played for Roma and then some smaller Italian teams.

He just wants to be for Japan what Park is for Korea.

Yeah, that's another aspect of it. I think there were Man United rumors after his first few good matches and rumors that he didn't like to see Nagatomo signing for a big club before him. I hope for the best, only time will tell what his mind is up to.

Inter are already 6 points of 3rd place? What the fuck?

I really don't want Bayern to get these cunts in the CL again.

I am really not happy now, if feels like the league is over :(. In Spain a 5 point gap between barca and madrid is much bigger than it is in the EPL. Plus with the form madrid are in I don't see them dropping points other than maybe to barca. I feel like smashing something.

We played awful and started believing 1 goal was enough when it clearly wasnt. The icing on the cake was the handball, that shot was going in if he had not done that. But it should not be used as an excuse for why we drew. Barca should have upped the tempo and tried to kill off the game, instead they relaxed.

It also proved once again, sometimes barca rely too much on messi, he didn't show up today. It happens (its so rare that he does not show up some people forget that) but today we were toothless upfront because messi was off form. Cesc should have stayed on.

Not even olivia wilde gifs can cheer me up. :(

El Barça siempre

that's way more unsettling than i always imagined.

The Messi one bothered me more that it should have :)

Though I think the league should be madrids after today, Barca still got the CL to go for, and really can't think of any team at the moment who'll stop them over 2 legs.

5 point lead? nah more like a 2 point lead, madrid will lose @ nou camp, ronaldo will have his trademark shitty game vs barca and a madrid player will be sent off

valdes saved barca so many times before the goal, espanyol could have won it if someone else was in net for barca

i have to say, espanyol has a nice looking modern stadium and their fans are loud and passionate

This is true, it felt like a true derby. It was amazing, I enjoyed watching the game go back and forth but it became obvious the more that happened that a goal for espanyol was coming. Just wish it wasnt in the 85th min. It will hurt even more when espanyol lose 2 or 3-0 to someone in relegation next week lol. I don't understand why they cant play like they did every week.

I just noticed villareal are 4th from bottom, wtf happened there?
