today we witnessed two of the greatest Quarterbacks in the game working their craft. Eli and Tebow.

the NFL doesn't get much better, folks.

Terrible, but guys, we just lost to fucking Tebow. I'm a Steelers fan, as well as an atheist (And as coy as people act about it, believe me, there are rural people who think that there is something behind this Tebow madness)...it's just unbearable. I just want to watch Champion Leagues soccer right now and root for Barcelona so that I can actually feel good about being a fan of something (Even though I don't really like Barca).

Terribly demoralizing loss.

And as much as I hate to say it...Tomlin had this team ill prepared and this was the worst loss by far in his era. Cowherd rarely fielded teams in the playoffs that looked so heartless and distracted. During our final drive when we had a chance to win, the glimpses they showed of the defense...they looked like they had better places to be.

The Pats coaching staff is so utterly superior to ours....they are going to have it wrapped up early.

Is the NFL the only sport with brain dead OT/tiebreaker rules @_@

I actually like the rules. I personally don't think they should have even allowed for "fg can't win".

It's not the time or place for it, but to be brief, I enjoyed the "sink or swim" aspect of it. As the Steelers just painfully proved, you have to play defense to fucking win regardless, so what if you have to play it first? I am definitely a minority, and it probably seems convenient/ironic for me to say this now, but I was for sudden death. I liked the "attitude" behind it. Oh well, maybe I will change my mind when I actually get to see it in action, when the first defense isn't so utterly inept at everything.

Meh....I guess. Your explanation makes it seem less retarded :)

... so anyone else kicking themself for not following through with the urge to put a small bet on Denver winning the SB when the miracle first started back in November?

FMT gimme a Niners avatar! I'm swearing fealty to ya for now.

the only one i gots is the one that bionic has :(

i'm devoid of creativity! i appreciate your support, goldlions support and all the others who will no longer stand for lord goddells garbage!

In less than a week, fans from here will join others from around the world. And you will be playing the deadliest offense in the history of the NFL. "NFL." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that next weekend, the team known throughout history for great offense, will be the only team able to prevent goddells garbage offensive wishes and pussification of the league from becoming a disease across the league... We are fighting for our right to live in a world with something resembling defensive football. To exist. And should the 49ers win the day, winning a divisional game will no longer be known as winning a playoff game, but as the day the football world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Go Fuck Yourself For These Bullshit Offensive Slanted Rules Roger Goddell day!!

Holy shit, this needs to be reposted in the new thread.

Like I said, I am in a very small minority, most people hated the old rules.

But, there were certainly reasons behind it, and I honestly liked them personally. Soccer used to have the "golden ball" rule (First team to score in extra time wins) but they changed as well. It seems that the majority of people, for most sports where it is applicable, don't like it.

great weekend, minus that horrible Giants / Atlanta game. Not only was it an intensely boring game, but Fox fucked up the commercial breaks really bad. THey took a commercial break on a timeout at 2:03 in the half, which resulted in about 3 seconds of football taking place and 12 minutes of commercials.

THEY SAID HE COULDN'T WIN A PLAYOFF GAME!

That is my post of the day.

Next will I will be posting "They said he couldn't win against Tom Brady".

In the end I will be posting "They said he could never win a Super Bowl"

I gotta rest now, I exerted too much energy from celebrating that OT victory!

I think if the Steelers were healthy they win this game.
That is true that if the Steelers were healthy they would have blown out the Tebows. The Steelers would also have gone undefeated (in the regular season) if they were healthy and were 3 years younger on defense, but I am not a Niners fan and I try to live in the real world.

In there real world the best quarterback on the Packers is on the bench. In the real world Tebow destroyed from within before taking us out on the field. In the real world eznark is a black man who is a diehard bears fan.

Incidentally, when they aired that episode, The Broncos won the Super Bowl the following year

I think it was two years.. the following year denver was the #1 team in the AFC but lost to JAcksonville, in the year that New England lost to Green Bay in the Super Bowl. Then they won the following season, I think.

I think if the Steelers were healthy they win this game.

Eh. Every team has injuries every season.
