Ok I checked, Villareal have won 3 games so far this season (!) Drawn 7 and Lost 7. They have failed to win an away game, and in away games they have only scored 3 times vs conceeding 15 times. Ouch. So thats why why are in the bottom 3. They are having a brutal season.

Wow thats a nice goal.

sold their best player (cazorla) last summer and rossi injured

rossi will be gone this summer me thinks, things don't look good for villareal in the near future

Villarreal was so good last season. Nilmar and Rossi were forming a great partnership.
They should have kept Cazorla.

How did I miss this? Levante are in 4th? How in the hell did THAT happen? I really need to start watching revista again. Even if that host pisses me off.

levante has been 4th for a long time lol

i don't mind the host, he's not THAT bad, he's ok (new host, give me a break lol)

i really like the show especially when hunter is on, dude is my fav, he tells it like it is

Shouldn't Barcelona be wearing that club world cup champion badge? Or am I missing something?

I just don't get how teams like Espanyol come hyper-motivated against us, then shit themselves against Madrid.

edit: fuck! double post, sorry.

I was wondering this too.

I like guillem balague. He seems like a nice dude, hunter is good also, actually I like gerry armstrong too. I just hate that host, the old one..mark bolton was mmmmmuch better.

Edit: Seems Mark Bolton got fired at the end of last season, because he tweeted during the champions league semi (we can assume it was madrid vs barca) that the revista team should be doing punditry and not redknapp and the likes. Which to be honest I felt at the time was a bit weird having the regular sky people do punditry and not the revista team. But I am pretty sure he should never have tweeted about it lol. Apparently this was on his twitter:

I didn't ask to leave Sky Sports. They didn't want to re-new my contract. Ask them why?

Yes, Sky Sports axed me.

YES. I WAS AXED.

Why don't you believe me? I was axed by Sky Sports. I wanted to stay but they didn't want me.

Yes, I've loved presenting La Liga. And especially Revista. It wasn't my choice to leave.

Sky Sports told me Im "Very talented & excellent on screen" but that Im "Anti-authoritarian" & that they'd decided to not renew my contract.

<3 if accurate

Keane: "Well when it comes down to it, they're out of the Cup"

Chiles: "Well we should give them some credit."

Keane: "Okay, they'll get on the bus feeling better, but they're out of the Cup."

Chiles: "We should give them more credit."

Just saw the highlights of the Man U vs. Man City game. I agree with the red card, tackles like that are just playing with fire and are too dangerous. They really have no place in the game, keep the damn studs down...

Fantastic game based on the highlights. Don't really care about the result as either side winning makes no difference to me but I love every game that Nasri plays and doesn't contribute anything. Really love it.

Arsenal to take Leeds out in our game and then take out Aston Villa!!! Go the Gunners.

So true.

The stream of "we're going to twat em" posts on RAWK viz the cup tie makes for cute reading. I just hope the crowd* can avoid distastefulness.

*Worth clarifying: home and away.

There was similarly unrealistic optimism here prior to yesterday's derby amongst the Utd crowd, so it's not like confidence among big-team fans is unusual or out of place. Especially on a dedicated fan forum. Though luckily in your case, the optimism paid off.

Anyone here watch The League? It's an American TV show that's similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm with its "not quite scripted but not a reality show" but it's centered around a group of guys in a fantasy (American) football league. It's fuckin fantastic. I watched all of season 1 on the airplane yesterday and I felt bad for how much I was laughing. Highly recommended.

BBC Sport - Wayne Rooney got Vincent Kompany sent off says Roberto Mancini

Mancini said: "It was not a red card. Rooney told him his decision."

When asked to clarify if he felt Rooney had influenced the decision, Mancini added: "Yes, he was near the referee."

Mancini says the club will appeal against the red card. He said: "We will do an appeal and I am sure that we will win.

...

"It was 300% not a sending off."
It was a risky challenge, I don't see any issue in the ref giving red despite Nani avoiding his legs being ruined. I don't want to re-open debate on was it/wasn't it (I know it's inevitable), but wanted to post this article. 300% makes it especially humorous.

I wonder if he really believes they'll win the appeal or if he's just keeping up appearances for the media.

The article lists the games Kompany misses:
11 Jan Liverpool (h) Carling Cup semi-final first leg
16 Jan Wigan (a) Premier League
22 Jan Tottenham (h) Premier League
25 Jan Liverpool (a) Carling Cup semi-final second leg

It could turn out to be a costly suspension indeed, but I'd still back City to win at least 3 of these.

Because Espanyol - Barcelona is a derby?

Sure I know that, but still if Espanyol played with this intensity every week they would make make it to Europa League at least.

I hope Atletico actually has the balls to play decently against Madrid, we need a hand.

you can't play at max intensity every week. it sounds likei/is a cliche, but it's true.

So it appears that Ivory Coast's football team are currently in Abu Dhabi. DROGBA! I need to find a way to see him :0!!!!!

I know right?! By all accounts we were pretty poor again today - no pace or urgency. I didn't think I'd be saying it this time last season - but without Ramires we'd be in trouble - he gives the midfield energy, purpose and direction.

So right you are :) Ramires is by far the most improved Chelsea player last season, and Luiz probably the opposite (did you see how many times he jeopardized our defenses today??) I DO miss playing with urgency though.

brilliant coke zero marketing

HAHA! That is what I was thinking! Took 2 minutes off the game too :P

Blatant handball is blatant. But we didnt deserve to get 3 points.

Pretty much how I felt bro, check the post below where I respond to another quote of yours.

This Espanyol team plays like shit against Madrid but then play against us like their lives depend on it. Ridiculous. Also hilarious to see Espanyol fans celebrating like they won a final.

This may sound like us spewing conspiracy crap or playing victims, but lol this is so true :D Valencia, Real Sociedad, Sevilla, Athletic Bilbao AND RCD Espanyol played very well against us.

In comparison, look at Madrid's results against these same teams. Valencia - beaten in their own ground 3-2. Real Sociedad - beaten in their own ground 1-0. Sevilla - beaten in their own ground 6-2 (against Barcelona they held them to a 0-0 at CAMP NOU). Athletic Bilbao - yet to play them. RCD Espanyol - beaten on their own ground 4-0.

Bottom line - Barcelona needs to step up their away games BADLY.

I am really not happy now, if feels like the league is over :(. In Spain a 5 point gap between barca and madrid is much bigger than it is in the EPL. Plus with the form madrid are in I don't see them dropping points other than maybe to barca. I feel like smashing something.

We played awful and started believing 1 goal was enough when it clearly wasnt. The icing on the cake was the handball, that shot was going in if he had not done that. But it should not be used as an excuse for why we drew. Barca should have upped the tempo and tried to kill off the game, instead they relaxed.

It also proved once again, sometimes barca rely too much on messi, he didn't show up today. It happens (its so rare that he does not show up some people forget that) but today we were toothless upfront because messi was off form. Cesc should have stayed on.

Not even olivia wilde gifs can cheer me up. :(

I know how you feel bro. It was a very frustrating night for me. The funny part is it was VERY similar to many of Chelsea's games this season. A VERY poor performance with only a 1 goal lead, and then conceding in the final FIVE MINUTES. VERY frustrating.

Realistically though, Madrid still have 20 games to play in La Liga. However, Barcelona still have many draws to go through probably in their away games. As I mentioned to Error above, Barcelona have been horrible - the entire season IMO - in their away games. I think they had like 1 really good away performance in Liga all season. I don't get it, they played with very little urgency and inspiration (just like CHELSEA).

Also, nowhere in the world should a 1 goal lead be fulfilling and comfortable, I don't know what they were trying to do with defending that lead. I was even more bothered how they suddenly played much better after conceding. Unfortunately, they only had 8 minutes to respond. Very frustrating.

Check this stat out bro, from Barcelona's away games in La Liga this season - they have picked up 13 points out of a possible 24. Think about that for a second. They really, REALLY need to step up their away form. Chelsea need to step it up too.

No one seems to have the balls to truly challenge Madrid these days outside of Barcelona. Just look at how well Malaga challenged Madrid when they were up by 2 goals.

"11 - Barcelona have now dropped as many points away from home this season as they did in the whole of 2010/11."

Fady, that's what's terrible about La Liga. One bad result, and you lose the league title.

Chelsea fans, here are yesterday's goal in GLORIOUS VIDEO format lol. It was like one of those E3 conferences where a game was revealed behind closed doors and now we can see what the game actually looks like. http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos/chelsea-4-portsmouth-0/

See that stat up there? That explains Barcelona's horrible weakness this season. I agree with you on the latter statement. Congrats regarding Juventus. Possibly one of the only teams to remain undefeated this far in a football league this season! Amazing!

Keane only said that because of his recent spat with Fergie. He's deciding to kiss and make up.

What's this I'm seeing on Twitter about foreign players who play in Spain are having their income tax raised to something like 55%.

That will make La Liga less attractive!

That sounds... Silly. Got it the other way around here where foreign players can come in and pay less tax.

Ahhh here we go. I got it wrong. It's ALL players who earn top money:

"Last year the Spanish government scrapped a loophole named after David Beckham that allowed elite foreign workers — including professional sportsmen — to pay 24 per cent tax, HALF the top rate in Spain.

Becks was the first to benefit after its introduction just before his 2003 switch from Manchester United.

But news this week La Liga's high earners will pay 54 per cent of their earnings to the taxman means the Prem can now compete to attract the best in the world again.

Jose Maria Gay, economics professor at the University of Catalunya, said: "Now foreign players will be more expensive.

"Before, thanks to the cushy Beckham Law, we were among those who paid the least in that area and now we are among those who pay the most.

"It is 54 per cent — 56 per cent in Catalunya."

I googled it and the only hit I got which sadly doesn't link to the source is this stupid United site.

Fuck Redknapp. Such a cunt.

Despite this bullshit, Demba Ba won't leave. A release clause doesn't mean a player will leave just because the clause is met. The player is happy living in Newcastle, is happy playing for Newcastle and will stay for some time I believe.

Newcastle need to put together a new contract ASAP. I can understand why they did this in the first place, given his knee, but the guy is providing the goods and is proving to be a quality player. We know what he can offer, so it's time for us to deliver the goods.

Seriously, what a farce.

That's all I've got

Scunthorpe is another club with anatomy in its moniker.
