Am I the only one who isn't buying any accessories besides the memory cards?

I probably will not take my Vita outside of my house and I don't believe in screen protections, they just get in the way of gaming and doesn't feel right
I'm just picking up a 3g Vita and a 32gb memory card at launch.

I'd like the travel pouch that is included in the starter pack but I'm not interested in any of the other stuff sold with it. I wonder if I can find some place that carries the pouch by itself.

I haven't decided on a screen protector. I don't use one on my phone but it has gorilla glass. My PSP has remained scratch free without a protector but it lives in a neoprene sleeve when not in use.

I got that cloth pouch that is similar than the one that came with PSP.

Also, the wallet that came with the preorder, that has some space for games and cards.

Do we know yet if any of the launch software will be up on PSN prior to 2/22? I, for one, would love to be able to "pre-purchase" my DD titles in advance of receiving my Vita

My launch is looking magical!

SCEA Launch Day Titles
Escape Plan (PSN Only)
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
Little Deviants
ModNation Racers: Road Trip
UNCHARTED: Golden Abyss

Third Party Publisher Launch Day Titles
Army Corps of Hell Square Enix, Inc.
EA SPORTS FIFA Soccer Electronic Arts, Inc.
Lumines Electronic Symphony Ubisoft, Inc.
Plants vs. Zombies (PSN Only) Sony Online Entertainment LLC

I'm hoping Shinobido and army corps are good. Those two with wipeout and uncharted should make it the best launch in a long time.

You forgot Hot Shots Golf!

For the [3]DS touch screen, protectors are a must.

there is already a UMD program in Japan and no important publisher (like Square) has signed for it.

Any details of how this will work?

So the best "deal" for a launch Vita would be buying it with the Chase card and get 5% back. Or use Amazon's card. too bad I have neither.

Yeah, IMO.

That's what I did. Even though I have tons of Amazon credit I used my Chase card to get the 5% off all the preorder items.

i believe the system is in place to give you the 5% off and just change to use the amazon credit for all but 1 dollar on the chase card and still get the discount.

Agreed.

Just getting the Vita and a 16 Gig card, and Hot Shots, and another game which I'll decide if Uncharted is really worth 50 or I could wait for a price cut/collapse.

If I want to play a psp game on the vita, do I basically have to hope for it to be made available on psn? I've been looking into a psp, but eb has some trade in promotions that could really take a chunk out of the cost of a vita. At the moment, however, I just want to play psp games since so many can be bought really cheaply. There's nothing on the vita yet that I can't wait to drop in price. There isn't a umd transfer app, correct?

they haven't said anything in quite a while about them doing the umd transfer in the States. Sony said it was something they were looking into doing back when the psp go came out. What PSP games do you want? there are some good PSP games on PSN now.

The main reason I was even considering a PSP is because of Grand Knights History. I saw a poster's avatar, did a reverse image search to figure out what it was from, and then looked up information and media for the game. It looks fantastic, and I'm interested enough that I'm willing to buy one of Sony's portable consoles for it. Something about Vanillaware titles really stimulates my inner J-phile, and GKH actually looks to have some substance to go with the lovely style. I've never really followed the PSP library very closely, but of the games I know, here's what else interests me:

God of War
Loco Roco
FF Dissidia (maybe, I've heard some generally negative things of the gameplay)
That yet to be released FF title Kagari made a thread for

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I know there are a bunch of SRPGs that looked interesting back when they were released, but I don't know their titles or if they were even localized for North America. I'm fairly certain all of the games listed above are on PSN, but am fairly certain that physical copies go for less than what Sony asks. Now, I assume PSP Go is still supported and that a digital version of GKH will be released the same day as the physical copies, but perhaps I'm wrong here.

Also, whether I get the Vita First pack or just the console with a larger memory card is largely dependent on how big these PSP games get. I imagine some of these games will take up more than a GB? It seems like the 32GB is the way to go to be safe, but realistically I won't have more than 3-4 PSP games on the card when all's said and done, and for Vita games, I'll opt for physical copies unless Sony decides to charge less for digital.

Gamestop has Madden NFL 13 listed for 8/28/12

I've got a psp got or two that I want on my vita and some Vita PSN Only titles..and that'll probably be all I need the memory card. i wonder what size the PSN Only titles will be on the store.

There's a bonus on Amazon gift cards if you've got a lot of points racked up too btw. I've got just enough for the First Edition Bundle. Hopefully Uncharted is available before the main launch date.

Thanks for the heads up! By the way, at least for me, I had to activate this offer on my card (go to Ultimate Rewards when logged onto your credit card online banking page). 5% is something!

just looking at the following I think

- motorstorm RC (confirmed for launch yet?)
- hustle kings (already have PS3 version)
- Hotshots Golf (have Japanese version but I want a version in English with online that works)
- Wipeout 2048

already have from the Japanese launch
- Uncharted
- Katamari
- Ridge Racer.

It's like Amazon wants the money we got for Christmas now!!!!

My word, Brother! But you know, we're all supposed to be bemoaning what a DOA system the Vita is! I'm looking forward to Hori releasing a decent third-party casket to place my machine in for the inevitable burial. A few quiet words, the placing of a flower and turning to CNET to offer them their expectant pat on the back.

I was looking for some Vita videos on different aspects of the system, and came across this one YouTube channel (might have been posted) that has some well done videos showing off various aspects of the Vita, from hardware to OS to software. The videos are 8-10 minutes long and take a pretty indepth view at some different aspects of the system. I found it to be pretty informative.

Just pre-ordered the First Edition Bundle. I might get a 16gb card as well but I plan on buying my games retail so the 4gb might last me a while. I'm waiting on reviews before I decide on the games.

Yeah, he's a GAFer -- twentytwo22.

GAF > Internet > GAF, indeed.

If Motorstorm RC is a launch title. I'm gonna have to get it. If we can somehow do online via the PS3, that would be amazing. I really do hope we get some kind of online.

I haven't seen any confirmation, but hopefully you can backup Vita games on PC like you can PSP games/MediaGo. From the sounds of it you can't do it on the PS3 (it deletes the game when you transfer it).

Great videos too. Vita and it's functionality look great, I just hate that they left out HDMI-out for a revision.

I'm banking on that that too.. Re-downloading games is no fun. I backed up all my PSP/PS1 games on the PC. Between games and music, 32gb can depleted very quickly.

Quick question. Canadian early release bundle has been pre-ordered so I'll have a 4Gb card when I grab the system, I also have a 32Gb card pre-ordered at Amazon that'll show up a few days later. Have they said how(if) we can transfer memory card data?

I think you can use the content manager with a PC or the PS3 to backup the Vita and then restore it to the other memory card. I don't have a Vita yet but I thought I had seen that somewhere. Can someone who already has a Vita confirm?

I'm so very torn with the Vita. I own almost every handheld video game system that has been released so far. But, after getting burned with the 3DS launch and subsequent price drop I am apprehensive about buying Vita at launch. The proprietary memory cards with their crazy prices are scaring me away as well. But, I do reaaaaaally want to play Hot Shots Golf, Lumines, and Motorstorm :( Maybe I'll wait and see if there are any really good launch deals somewhere. I remember when the 3DS came out some places had a deal where you would get a gift card if you purchased the system and a few games/accessories.
