We are the leagues beast farm team, so yeah there's a good chance we don't resign Bell, which would be a shame.

Contrary to what most morons believe, our OL has made big strides the last two years, no player has improved more than Bell, maybe Levitre but Bell was starting from the bottom. Somehow they have to find a way to resign 4 of them, Urbik played damn good football and is up in a year, so is Leviitre, and the following year Wood.

They have to pay Stevie this year, Fred Jackson next year, and Byrd as well. Can't pay everyone.

Bell didn't have much football experience coming out of college, think he only had 5 or so years total experience. He was brutal his first year, improved the second, and played very well when he was actually healthy this year.

What most fans didn't know is that he had micro fracture surgery after year 1. He didn't miss a single game in year 2, never practiced but laced up every Sunday. Guy was in tremendous pain, never complained, showed up and left it on the field. No one knew a damn thing. Was hurt multiple time this year, and couldn't play through it. When he was healthy he was good.

Hard working guy, team first, nothing is given every thing is earned. If he stays healthy he may be a good one. All he needs is a bit of luck, but he hasn't had much of that in his life, hopefully things change.

Yeah I came across that he's been injury prone. Nice to get a better perspective from a fan. If he could stay healthy, would be a nice upgrade for us if we can't land one of the big 3 OT's in the draft. Not even sure I'm sold on Martin...

I always figured Cards would take Upshaw if we don't get one of those top 3 OT's and he looked pretty decent tonight.

I give Shannon a 3.5. Horrible form.

All the stuff with McDaniels to New England, as far as the Denver game, really doesn't matter b/c they have already played this year. The Pats know far more about what Denver is trying to do than McDaniels does.

But the thing is, the Rams played nearly every remaining playoff team. BAL, NE's likely opponent in the AFC Championship game. Then everyone in the NFC. SF x2, NYG in the phantom injury game, GB in the Rams best offensive game, and NO who they beat. So while the Rams suck and got crushed in most of those games, McDaniels did gameplan and then break down the film for those games, all in which the Rams supposedly used the NE offense.

In a game of inches, there's probably one or two in there for the Pats to benefit from. What's weird is that every other Rams coach has his contract expire in FEB, and the Rams technically still employ them. McDaniels asked to be released from his contract, even though he was the only assistant with a year left. But I'm sure the Rams would release any coach early if he requested, so conceivably, any team could take one of the Rams awful coaches and put him to use.

Severe storms in Houston today. Look what appeared overhead:

Omen?

:jnc

There were reports earlier that the Reliant Stadium roof was damaged... didn't hear anything later on in the day so I'm guessing it was false, but :jnc

Imagine if the Texans and Tebows win and we end up having to play at a neutral (unlikely) site, or better yet, in Denver. (or worse, Dallas)

Astros playing in Milwaukee vs the Cubs all over again in 2007.

Probably already been posted but on top of all the 316 stuff with Tebow, the only interception of the game was thrown by Big Ben and he threw it on 3rd and 16. The last quarter hour TV rating for the game was 31.6.

TEBOW IS GOD!!!!!

Finally got Saturday off. Some sucker took my shift! I wasn't worried though as I wouldn't be there one way or another lol.

Cant wait to watch the Niners :D

The one good thing in this matchup is that Belicheat, McDaniels and the entire New England region will be unfamiliar with Tebow's playbook (the Bible) and won't be able to get put to speed on it in time for the game so that gives Tebow the advantage.

The whole post was great...but this one sentence should go in some sort of archive or something, so the kids can read it and be inspired to reach similar heights of excellence.

To my Texans-GAF degenerate buddies... a 25 dollar parlay on Texans/Broncos to win wins you 584.38 bucks... enough for AFC Championship game tickets! (hopefully)

let's look back at Eli's stats during his first few years in NYC when he was nearly run out of town. i forgot how lean those years were for Giants fans...

i remember him having flashes of good games, but his accuracy was bonkers and he'd regularly throw balls 2 feet above his receiver's head. things didn't click for him till the last few games of 2007, and we all know what happened that year.

since he won the Super Bowl MVP he became a completely different quarterback -

he started to hit receivers on the numbers instead of their helmets and became much more consistent, but until this year he was still prone to forcing throws when under pressure instead of throwing them away.

my point? maybe Tebow could actually morph into a consistently great starting quarterback. hell, if Eli managed to weather 3.5 years of a scathing NYC media and develop into a cherubic god, maybe Tebow could as well.

Terrible news about the death of GB offensive coordinator's son, Michael Philbin. :( Thoughts and prayers go out to family, friends and the entire Packers organisation/NFL.

i don't give a fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck who we play in the superbowl!

The only way the Niners are going to the Superbowl is to watch Tebow win it against the Saints.

You are better off not playing him. His powers are growing. He might have killed half of the team in an Earthquake leading up to the game. On the brighter side Alex might become somewhat more of a man just being on the same field as our savior Tebow.

Both the QB's get 10 shots from the 20 yard line to throw on the post, whoever hits most wins the game.

It makes as much sense as college football overtime. If we're going to completely change the rules, may as well make them as "exciting" as possible.

bionic, how does Tebow's ass taste?

Take comfort in knowing that you gave Tebow his one and only playoff win.

Tebow is not FMT and would never give another man that honor. He is saving himself for the right woman. It disgusts me that you even think of him that way.

Sconi degenerates...

It was meant in a more "ha ha, you fucking lost to Tim fucking Tebow you fucking CLOWN" way than an actual you put your tongue into the anus of Tim Tebow and I would like to hear a description of the flavors you experienced.

You can lie to me and rest of us but you can't lie to yourself. We both know what you really meant.

Reliant Stadium violated federal workplace safety rules on Saturday

That’s 118.3 decibels. Just how loud is this? It’s above the level of sandblasting and a loud rock concert, and just beneath the level at which pain begins.

The level also exceeds safety levels specified by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration. The federal organization says a workplace is unsafe if employees are exposed to levels of 115 decibels for more than 15 minutes a day.

I guess this made Reliant Stadium a hazardous workplace for the Bengals offense on Saturday.

Don’t know about you, but I have no problem with that.

For the Falcons:
Hottest name to replace Brian VanGorder? I'd say Steve Spagnuolo, @MarkBradleyAJC 38 minutes

But:

One of the hottest defensive coordinator candidates on the market may decide not to be on the market at all.

In a recent interview with Bryan Burwell of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (via Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News), former Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo mentioned the possibility of taking a year off. His wife, Maria, promptly disagreed. “I know Steve, and I told him no way,” she said while laughing. “There’s no way he will be able to sit around for a year doing nothing . . . He loves coaching way too much to sit around idly for a year.”

But here’s the thing. Unless someone is going to pay him more than what the Rams were scheduled to pay Spagnuolo in 2012, he’d be working for free. The Rams owe his full salary for 2012, and the amount owed by the Rams would be diminished, dollar for dollar, if he takes another job in coaching.

Steve Spagnuolo Expected to Join the Philadelphia Eagles by End of the Week:

"Spagnuolo, let go by the St. Louis Rams last week, is expected to be back in Philadelphia by the end of the week. The Eagles released a secondary coach over the weekend, so they have flexibility to move around the staff and bring Spagnuolo back as an assistant head coach, if not defensive coordinator.

If Andy Reid wants to retain embattled defensive coordinator Juan Castillo in some other capacity, that's a possibility as well, according to league sources. Spagnuolo is a disciple of former Eagles defensive guru Jim Johnson, and was much-liked during his eight-year stint on Andy Reid's staff.

Spagnuolo wanted to take time off last week, according to a league source, but expect his phone to start ringing quickly."

Fuck yes this is great news!!

Steve Spagnuolo is going to Tampa! Steve Spagnuolo is going to Atlanta! Steve Spagnuolo is taking a year off! Steve Spagnuolo is going to Philadelphia!

I hope the fucker goes to the CFL.

I don't see him going anywhere. How many opportunities do you get at a 52 years of age to have a year off with pay?

It's the same for most coaches who are fired, plenty go right back to work. You are only "hot" for so long. Eventually if you sit on your ass you're no longer the hot candidate and you have to go coach in college for a couple years to get the buzz back up. May as well do what you do.

Plus, these guys are at the top of their field. Sitting on their ass is not something they are accustomed to and certainly not something that got them where they are today.

He is getting $2 million from the Rams next year, I think the Eagles can top that and also promise him that he is next in line for HC if things dont work out for Ried next year.

:jnc. You wish.

Spagnuolo couldn't string together 11 wins in 3 years and you want the Eagles to promise him Head Coach over Reid?
