Eh.. Liliana was at like $65-70 at peak. It's hard to think a short set card could be much higher. Jace TMS shouldn't have even been printed and that didn't even hit higher until it rotated I believe. Boxes are about as cheap as they'll get and if I pulled one it'd be instantly on ebay.
I think the backstory is that she probably wasn't a werewolf so when her village cast her out and she was turned into one naturally she would want revenge.
Also, dat little red riding hood reference.
Little Red Riding Hood done growed up.
I am thinking she was driven into the wild for being a witch or something first, which caused her to be victim to the Werewolves or perhaps willingly.
He will most likely not be in this block.
I was thinking something similar.
Would have been very cool.
All and all it will make a great foil and an EDH Werewolf recruit.
Not bad, the 2CC slot is pretty open for WWs, with only Mayor of Avabruck as the notable 2 drop.
I don't think Sorin is that strong as Leliana. For one, he's W/B which, as far as I know, doesn't have any archetype in Standard at the moment. Second, he's aggro based, generating creatures and pumping them up. His ultimate costing 6 means the soonest you'll be getting him off is turn 7, (6 if your WB deck has some kind of mana accel), for those 3 turns you'll have to make sure he doesn't take any damage at all, and burns would just ruin your day.
I don't see him being anywhere near a "must have" as Liliana.

Sorin is stronger than Lili, for multiple reasons (and I love Lili)
A) He protects himself. He pops out a chump to get in the way at least if something is coming at him. Lili can make opponent sac a creature which is great if they only have one creature.
B) He makes Tokens to pump all of your creatures. Tokens do not go away even if Sorin goes away. There is also no way to remove these tokens.
Both of their ultimate abilities are comparable I think and both have their pros and cons.
As far as white black archetype, Sorin will create them.
But being able to have Sorin, Lili, and Gideon in the same battery is naaaaaasty.

Hm, how fast is Modern generally? Is it still dominated by combo? New Sorin makes me want to build a W/B aggro/bleed with some Orzhov cards.
After I gave it some thought I realized all of that.
I'm looking forward to playing Sorin, I might just shell out for a playset.
When you're dropping hundreds not on boxes, but on single cards.

Oh goodness. I can't do that, there's $500 airsoft gun I want to buy.
But that set of Jace 2.0s was so worth it.
I fear for my wallet if I ever get into the far broader formats.
I don't think it would effect his +1/+0 thing as it isn't a token.
They probably knew R/B Sorin would be too easy to do so they gave it some W instead. I like the choice.
I think (hope) he means to crank Sorin's loyalty up so that you can just drop emblems every turn.
Or Vamp Vamp Nuke.
I think Dack Fayden will be the new Planeswalker, seeing as he's featured on the alternate Faithless Looting art.

Damn I love the flavor driven approach to this set. I don't want it all the time, but when they go all out, its really awesome.

Probably, like, the 4th time I've mentioned it in this thread alone but, HOLY COW @ the quality of art in this block. If Innistrad succeeds anywhere, it was in the art direction and execution.

Off the top of my head, here are some possible uses for Seance...
Bring back Sun Titan for its effect, and serve as a possible blocker
Bring back a Phantasmal Image long enough to kill a Thrun
Bring back a Wurmcoil as a blocker, possibly buying you a turn
Extra use of Snapcaster - hell yes!
At least two cards drawn with a Sphinx, and a potential blocker against Inkmoth
It has potential as a Sideboard card, after some of your creatures have already died, it could be the buffer needed to out last an aggro deck and lock-in a win. Obviously, playtesting is required. I give it a "maybe."

We're seeing a lot more gold cards in this set than Innistrad. Excluding flip cards that change colors, 14% of the spoiled Dark Ascension cards are multicolored, compared to only 2% of Innistrad cards. This is also the first gold card in the block that is not Mythic Rare or Rare, and if the Fog Creature rumor was true after all, there may be a gold Uncommon cycle in this set.
Add to that the White-Black looking Avacyn art, and I'm starting to think Avacyn Restored might be a gold set.

Most aren't realizing that Sorin can destroy himself...
Pre-releases and releases are awesome and since there aren't very many I highly recommend checking out at least one for each set. Prize support is usually pretty good since it's provided from Wizards and sealed is a format that most only get to play during these events.
