801 T.T.S. Airbats - 7

mpc-hc2012-01-1122-21amo9c.jpg

a true bittersweet mono no aware episode.

Even I'm maybe the only one who like this anime, Airbats will ever have a special place in my anime heart

Fate/Zero 13:
Ryuunosuke and Caster are just an amazing pair. Their interactions are just great, and they both have such unique perspectives on everything. Rider is also awesome, but I think everyone knew that already. I'm glad to see Lancer again, even if it was just for a little bit.

Is it April yet?

I'm going to go with the consensus.
Not going to watch Last Exile Fam? If you like the original Last Exile, you really should consider it a must-watch. If you didn't like the original series of course it's quite unlikely you'd like this one either, but I loved the first series and think Fam is definitely good as well; it's one of the best currently airing animes in my opinion.

Also, as I said I thought Gosick was okay up until ep. 18 though not after that, but Fractale, really? Why continue with that? And you said you disliked Chihayafuru, but I guess you're going to keep watching anyway? (Sure, why not, I do that sometimes.)

Yeah! There are also some reviews available, like this little one by muhootsaver:

Can you Moe? :: [BD] Dennou Coil BD-BOX (電脳コイル)
http://muhootsaver.tistory.com/1459

To see now that amazon.co.jp is selling it so much cheaper (http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-la...language=en_JP) than the original pre-order price from Bandai Visual's .ANIME store (http://www.dot-anime.com/feature/4423.html#BCXA-0377) only a little more than a month past could be a little disheartening for early purchasers, though, but expected nonetheless.
That's... far "cheaper" than what I was expecting.

I'm going to go with the consensus.

My plan is to finish these first:
Fractale (1ep)
QsWDn.jpg

also add the yozakura quartet ova's and you've got a good list (except for fractale)

Friends don't let friends watch Fractale. Staring into space for 22 minutes would be a more enjoyable overall experience.
It's true. People (in general) don't really need to experience that show. It's not terribly bad, or interesting, or good. It definitely falls under the 'wasting your time' category.

Good idea. It's my favorite episode for it contains the crucial revelation that
the shadow play girls are corporeal. :p

That's pretty much the point where I knew shit was about to get really real.

Is Gosick really bad enough to be lumped with Fractale?

Well, a slap in the face is not as bad as a kick in the balls but neither is something you really want to subject yourself to willingly.

What the hell are you doing?

It speaks volumes when gaf can't reccomend something sarcastically.

Hey guys I got my computer back! Woo it's somewhat fixed. Anyway I didn't know whether to post this or in the manga thread, but seeing as I never go to the manga thread I just decided to post it here.

What manga do you guys want animated next? And by what studio? You can't pick anything that has an anime adaptation that got canceled or finished while the manga is still going. An example of that is Hitman Reborn or D. Gray-man.

Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer by Brains Base.

It'll never happen. ;__;

Genki girls are best girls.

(Note, kuudere > genki).

I agree, but this got me thinking. Perhaps the reason anime is "dead" or "beyond saving" in the eyes of most on AnimeGAF is because we now have simple, easy to use terminology to define specific sets of tropes, allowing them to be more easily exploited.

Allow me to expand. I feel safe in assuming everyone here knows what a "tsundere" is. Now, tsunderes as they're defined today aren't new to anime; they're been around for quite some time. The difference is they weren't anywhere near as prominent or frequent as they are in modern anime. I believe this is because the term "tsundere" wasn't actually coined until the early 2000s on forums like 2ch (thanks Lucky Channel!), which went on to describe a very specific set of tropes found in a couple of anime/games. But once the term spread and became part of otaku parlance, it became easily exploitable by anime/game/light novel creators. Then other "dere" types entered the fray (the above kuudere, yandere, dandere etc.), creating more easily exploitable tropes to.. er, exploit, none of which being more exploitable then the ever popular term "moe". Basically, anime will never go back to the way it was because these terms now exist and can't be deleted.

I mean, I know it's not the ONLY reason, the economy sucks and ideas are running dry to some extent, but does the above make sense, or am I just being an idiot?

Only thing I can think of is Solanin and I don't really know what studio I would pick, maybe Madhouse or Production I.G.

You have a point because i have always loved these things in anime, but it wasnt given a name until recently.

New Prince of Tennis (II) - 02

Match was on par with the OVAs but worse.

Perhaps one of the best things to happen or could happen in Prince of Tennis is
the upcoming elimination matches,
but I would argue
the exodus
should have been done even before the sequel because
the author has a problem saying goodbye to characters.
Also, the significance of the next few episodes feels subpar at best with how very little character development there has been from the 1st series.

Yes, I won't be a fan of these next few episodes
especially with Kikumaru being a forefront of this yet again.

If I had to pick one it'd be Amanchu by whoever did Aria (the good Aria). I need something to fill the hole left in my life after I finished it. It was so good. ;-;

Don't let the shounens scare you away.

As for manga adaptations, Saturn Apartments or Takemitsu Zamurai. Onani Master Kurosawa.

There's a ton of shit I'd like to see, but realistically, Gamaran by people that can do half-decent action. 24 episodes of non stop killing.

That man has amazing plot armour
A satelite beam from space annihialates a wide area of where Gai and some random people from his group go on a mission to, and only Gai survives.
Lulz, and people still say its not at Geass levels of wtfisthisshhit craziness.

I'm still waiting on that anime adaption of Coppelion that's on hold/got shit canned.

IIRC there is a pic showing he might join the Harem (in the mc's arms Tiger and Bunny style)
lmao

yeah, that's one of the reasons why i dropped it

It wasn't the cutest show of its season.
bunny drop was undoubtedly the better show but there was just something about a japanese kid meandering about in a 19th century paris

shit, i forgot about fap note.

Iris Zero

Cage of Eden by Madhouse.

Utena 34

I think some of the plot points went a bit over my head since I was pretty tired when watching it...

Were we told two conflicting tales about the witch and the prince? One during the shadow puppet play and the other during the flashback?

If that's not the case then could someone summarize the actual tale, please! Way too tired to watch it again at the moment and I've got a lot of work to do this week =(
Now that i've had my asparagus and salmon virginity taken all the way to the end of things, I will revel in watching the pure.

You have a point because i have always loved these things in anime, but it wasnt given a name until recently.

I think being able to put a name on tropes like this can be restrictive toward how one approaches writing said characters, which can make them end up flat and uninspired.

alright animugaf, arjuna or school days?

edit: i should add that i've all ready been spoiled about the ending of school days :<

Some people wondering into this thread might get the wrong impression about you with posts like that!
Haha, I think IRC has infected me. :(

Seriously, D-F Cups

What's a DFC? Google gave a Distinguished Flying Cross.

Amazing!

The tropes have been there throughout time and have constantly been exploited. It's just nerds love to label things.

I mean, most Jane Austen characters are tsundere. And Henry V is basically a shounen, with long ass fight scenes and power-up speeches. Just don't tell an English scholar that their beloved texts are like crappy anime!
