Next season Klopp should field a "made in Dortmund" team in some easy cup game or something, we'd need just one DM player (Leitner for example) that didn't go through our youth system to make an okay team:

-----------------Wilmes-----------------------
Koch---Günter-----Sobiech------Schmelzer
---------Hornschuh-----Leitner---------------
Reus--------Götze--------------Großkreutz
--------------Ducksch-------------------------

Would love to see that.

After losing last night in such a fashion and the heavy spread of the rumor that we are going to buy Gibson, I don't want to live on this planet anymore.jpg would be an appropriate reaction. I honestly don't know why Saha, Neville and Cahill is picked week in and week out when they have forgotten how to play football at all.

When a West Ham fan called you out for a miserable performance of your team, you know you are in a bad position.

I watched Everton to see Donovan and Everton seemed like a shell of their former selves. Besides the loss of Arteta and Pienaar, many of the others seem to be aging rapidly. They also seem to lose a player to injury just about once every half hour.
If nothing changes with their ownership at this rate they could be facing relegation in a year or two...

Moyes said he was very happy with the performance, and that you just needed someone to hit one sweetly like Assou-Ekotto did. I think what he meant was that you needed a bit of luck. I thought you were pretty good defensively yesterday. You didn't give us many clear cut opportunities, but then apart from Saha a few minutes in you didn't really have any shots on goal.

wank over our youth players.

Everton didn't force Brad Friedel to do much work, and that's not out of character for them:
Everton: Failed to have a single shot on target for the third game in their last 8 Premier League matches last night
That said Spurs are hardly pushovers:
6 - Premier League table since the close of the summer 2011 transfer window; Spurs are six points clear. Pace. http://t.co/TnhDuOyp

45 - Spurs have more points after 20 games than the eventual champions have had at this stage in 10 of 19 previous PL seasons. Contenders.

It's no question Tottenham has been of fire for a long stretch this season. They have been playing very good football. I'm glad United got to face them early when they weren't in form yet and no Modric, we shall see next meeting...

I would love to see Tottenham win the league. Wheeling and dealing > oil money.

Okay, Slizz! Fine! I'm going to watch Community :P

You guys didn't even try to put a shift to the 2nd gear and walked through us comfortably. 2 years ago, we were on toes with you lot and now, look at us. Your reserve players can walk into our squad any moment. Notwithstanding us being poor as hell, the quality players we have never seem to play the way they want and always dropped if they play well. Vellios top scorer? Not even on the bench. Drenthe runs towards players and scares the hell out of them? he is going be out with illness. Barkley showing others how to play football? you are not a team-player, bench will be god for you. Its endless negativity that will develop into a mentality that will not make us perform at all.

we defended well, because guess what? we wanted to gracefully lose by 2 goals. Ambition!

I don't disagree with this. We are quite lucky this season. Because however badly we play, there are at least 3 teams that are worse than us. The problem is not only the aging squad, but the tactics themselves as we want to play this defensive mentality that won't work with our aging players. The ''veterans'' can't even play pretty well to get into a league 1 team, let alone a PL team. i blame Moyes. I really fear for the worst in the next 2 years.

Do it man, you won't regret it. Season 1 starts a little slow but picks up quickly, S2 is pretty off the wall amazing.

Anyway, congrats Spurs-GAF and good luck to Spurs in the rest of the season. They are one of the most exciting team I have watched in the last few years in PL and I wouldn't mind them winning the PL title. the position you are in is teh one I wish we were couple of years back.

Why do you blame Moyes? He is a good coach. Look at the money he has at his disposal. How many players have Everton added in the last 2-3 years (I forget exactly how long it's been since their financial troubles began) and what was the total monetary expenditure? Blame the owner. If he doesn't have the financial resources to support a successful Premier League team, he needs to sell to someone who does.

He has been trying to do that, but no1 wants to buy Everton.

I don't believe that.
What does that even mean? Surely some American/Arab/Indian/Chinese billionaire would buy a Premier League team for... £1. So then it's all about the price, and what the current owner is willing to accept.
I remember seeing rumors relating to some Indian company a few months ago, so there is some level of interest. Maybe Everton's owner is asking for too much?

I agree that Kenwright is more to blame than Moyes, who is working miracles with the lack of money he has.

Problem is, as Pappe said, no one wants to buy Everton. There's tons of problems involved in buying Liverpool. It's horrendously expensive to expand the ground. Constantly in competition with Man United. City's oil billions. Chelsea's oil billions and Arsenal's better ground and higher London prices.

Everton are worse off. Their ground isn't as good. It can't really be expanded and isn't full most games anyway despite cheaper ticket prices. And Everton, despite being a historic club, don't have the worldwide following and TV Attraction that Liverpool, United, Arsenal have. You'd need a transformation like that of City to make them really relevant again. And unfortunately there aren't that many mega-billionaires left willing to buy. The Qataris have invested in PSG and Malaga, the UAE (Abu Dhabi) guys have City and Dubai's in mountains of debt despite their wealth. Bahrain's lot are interested in F1 more than football. Maybe FFP will help a bit, but Everton are struggling right now behind the scenes (pardon the pun). Moyes is doing a great job overall.

Kenwright (like David Moores did) may be asking for too much. I've heard he wants £70million for Everton which is outrageous really considering the above.

Edit: The Chinese by the way, want to invest in their own league and Basketball. They see more value in that, and when you consider they're getting decent attendences for shite football and football's the fastest growing game in the country I can see why. Basketball's the most popular game in China right now.

I fucking hate January. Spend the whole month shitting myself..

Hey Mat. As a fan of a (currently) lower league club. I wanted to get your opinion on the 'loan' system. Are you happy with how it seems to work these days with younger players from Premier League clubs being offered around to the lower league clubs? Or do you think it should be scrapped as some have mooted recently? I only ask because Liverpool's youth academy is full of very promising young players, but they have no 'real world' experience and I'm not sure how they can get any without the loan system. Apart from the having the Spanish 'B Team' system introduced, which I wouldn't like. How do fans of lower league clubs treat/think about young loanees from Premier League clubs?

Kenwright is a dickhead he spends more money on his pantomimes and drama shit. He wants to be seen as a hero by the bitters and bring the good times back at goodison but instead they slip closer to relegation every year.

I think the loan system is integral both for lower league clubs and for the development of younger players. I think the idea that it should be scrapped is ridiculous, both for the future of the lower league system and the prospects of young players.

I'm a big fan of experience. Having high tech academies is great, but players have to be mentally prepared to play professional football, and that sort of experience is something you only get from playing.

Take Ben Marshall for example, the highly rated young English winger we have on loan from Stoke. Instead of playing in Stoke City's reserves, he's been playing first team football in the Football League. He's experienced high pressure situations. He's played in one of the countries most heated derby matches. He's experienced a promotion push. He's played infront of 20,000+ and almost 30,000 crowds. Hes visibly grown as a player for us, and its his loan spell with us that will kick start his career, weather that be with Stoke or a move elsewhere.

You don't get any of that experience in an academy side.

Reading a lot of tweets that Pato will go to PSG. 28m up front plus 7m in add ons.

Pretty stupid deal for him and Milan, in my opinion. He'll be moving to a lower league and I never agree with that. And Milan will probably spend the money in 35 year olds. :D

Haha yeah read that earlier, going to be a funny match, wasn't it some Turkish teams too only allowing women and kids at one point?

Yeah.

If men act up only women and children allowed in games for all clubs. Great idea imo, should be enforced around the world.

In other news, not completely sure about my source but apparently UEFA will ban Fenerbahce from all European competitions for 5 years if the TFF do not relegate Fenerbahce.

Cool stuff.

Greg Stobart saying Levy met with Ganso's representatives in London and was offered the player for £15 million. According to him Levy wants the player as part of our long term strategy, and he's someone that's highly recommended by Ian Broomfield (chief scout). Similar situation to what happened with Sandro by the sound of it.

Isnt he supposed to be quite overrated? from the little i've seen at the copa america and from what i've read. can anyone clarify?

or we will spend it on tevez, which may wrap up today.

i agree it would be a stupid deal though, i mean we bought him for 22 million iirc and it would only leave us with ibra and robinho as our CL-eligible strikers. i think if we sell pato it will be in the summer, makes no sense to do it now.

2-3 years from now, they'll regret it. Ibra is going to be 33, Tevez is 30, and playing for Inter and I really don't see Robinho staying there for that long.

lol tevez will play for us, moratti even said so today.

i totally agree we need to hold on to pato, but who knows with our management. if we are going to sell him though we need to do it in the summer, right now is the worst possible time.

I know :P But knowing Tevez and his agent, he's going to jump ship after two years. You can count on that :P

If he wasn't injury prone, Milan would be doing terrible business. But you never know with Pato, I'd keep him anyway.

Tevez is a better player overall, but he isn't for the future, and we'd all think Milan would be focusing on that, with their ageing squad and all.

Just seen Stevie calling Mancini out on his blatant hypocrisy, excellent stuff. Made him look like a fool.

That's beautiful!

It does look bad, like Duisburg bad.
well, I am being harsh I know

Since we are all talking about the possibility of seeing Spurs winning the league, we could imagine Schalke in Germany and Montpellier in France winning the league too.
Would be a year to remember !

Liverpool, Ajax and Dortmund linked with Danish winger, 17 year old Lucas Andersen. Forget about Christian Eriksen, this kid is the future of Danish football.

We seem to be linked with a lot of 17 year olds. I'm all for youth development, but I would like to see something exciting being hinted at for our first team.

This kid is already playing for the national league team.

Edit: That probably says more about our national league than it does about him...

Kompany's tackle was much worse anyway :/

I think they were both red cards. But that's not really the point. Mancini was lambasting Rooney earlier this week for trying to get Kompany into trouble, now Mancini is doing exactly the same thing with Johnson.

And I'm glad Stevie was wise and assured enough to stand up and say that, even when Mancini was being interviewed.

Danish youth _O_

Eriksen, Boilesen, Fischer and now Anderson. Hopefully he will come to Ajax. 4 Danish talents in one team is awesome.

Can't wait to see Fischer play for the first time :)
