I completely agree. However, when asked on grindr if "u masc?", what do guys really think the response is gonna be? "Uh, no I'm watching Glee right now and shaving my legs"?

I rarely even know what "masculine" or "feminine" means when people use those terms, their usage seems so vague, they seem to represent caricatures of people better than real people.

That's a large part of why I think the desperation to separate those is so thoroughly inane. I mean, does "effeminate" mean full-on androgyny? Or just having any stereotypically gay mannerisms at all?

And what about the guys who look "masc" but behave femininely?
Like Dino Hillas, my favourite daddy evah. See this pic:

Then Youtube him and watch him talk.
How do you classify those?
This was just an excuse to post Dino Hillas.

BTW regarding Madonna, I have a lady friend who's rooting for Denver with me (she's a Packers fan) cause she thinks I'd love if Broncos play in the same Super Bowl Madonna performs. Even though I haven't liked Madonna for a decade lol.
Well, back when we were together in high school I was obsessed with Madonna so she has a point.

That timing, I thought this was directed at me. :(

DarthWufei, will you marry me? :P
You're prepared to pay for the ceremony right? >:)

I called a guy out on it once. He said he asked it to "keep people on their toes and it makes them think."

Okay bro.
Haha, gold. I try to avoid any sort of discussion over someone's "persona" I guess, especially in the online world. It just makes everyone uncomfortable and I often have no problems getting passed people for not matching my preferences perfectly.

Saw a guy out at a club once, he looked like a total masculine jock-type. Hell I thought he was straight, but didn't get the nerve to speak with him. He hit me up online later that night telling me he wanted to talk to me too. So we went out on a date and he was definitely not typically masculine in his mannerisms and tone, but I still fell for him hard core as he pretty much made up everything else I was looking for and was a great guy.

It's like how I can date someone for not being muscular, a gym rat, or a gamer. Preferences aren't mandatory and I wish more people thought that way.

Well, theres also something I noticed about the gay community:

Masculine men are traditionally into other masculine men.
Feminine men are traditionally more into masculine men.
Masculine men feel 'above' feminine men because they turn them down all the time and hit them up most frequently for dating or hookup
Feminine men feel spurned by masculine men
Masculine men try to hide their identity more from feminine men
Feminine men try to 'out' masculine men to their friends

It's all so interesting. Myself being a "Str8 acting" guy when I was younger I used to have the whole "Can't be seen by fems, cant be around fems, etc" persona but I've matured, but I reckon alot of younger guys still hold that mentality

What about Masculine men into Feminine men O.o

Well, there is also all sorts of categories in between. I myself are more 'twink-ish' and my boyfriend is more 'bearish' (no beard though) and a lot older than me, and we both like the opposite of ourselves. I mean, when I see guys with beards ot hairy bulky guys they have my attention, while my boyfriend can't understand that. Instead, he looks at guys just like me, something I find not very attractive.

Indeed, i know lots of them. I mean.. depends on what you call feminine... But really campy guys with women bags on their arms are quiet successful where i live!

But i guess it's more a top/bottom problem. Some masculine top likes the bottom to be really obvious in his bottomness! Some guys are clearly playing that card, believe me!

Now when you're looking for a hunky masculine and straight looking bottom, it's not that easy to find!

My BF is the same. He somehow likes me when I'm a big guy. I never get it.

Since 'masculine' and 'feminine' are somewhat nebulous concepts, declaring yourself to be one as opposed to the other doesn't hold much significance. All people possess masculine and feminine qualities about them; nobody is completely one way or the other.

So yeah, it's kind of a bullshit question, especially because it involves both people relying upon their own definitions of the terms 'masculine' and 'feminine,' which can differ greatly. When I get posed this question, I try and go with a more nuanced answer that puts me somewhere in the middle.

billion times hotter than that icecream truck bullshit. Also, the guy saying "hey, you need a carwash" is smoking hot.

Wait, you're gay? I've never seen you post in this thread.

You're Belgian too, right?

edit: haha never mind, I searched your other posts in this topic and we've shared a conversation before. I completely forgot about it.

Dammmmn DarthWufei, looking good!

I have a question: What do you guys think about doing really cheesy things for someone? Do you find them embarrassing, or do you find them cute? I find myself doing so many cheesy things for my bf that I'm starting to run out of ideas. I do have a really cute idea for Valentine's Day though! Can't wait.

What kind of things have you done before? I would limit the cheesiness to just a couple times a year.

He looks familiar. He might work at Abbey, actually.

EDIT: From further inspection, he definitely does. And the guy with the necklace on works at a few bars around here too. I think you guys would be disappointed seeing these guys off-camera... Yeah.

This is basically all of the guys from Here bar or Abbey. Also, go-go dancers at bars is literally the least-classy thing I can think of. The fact that almost every gay bar has them is pretty sad.

So you're basically saying that they don't look all that impressive in person? Phew, I feel a bit better about myself now...

Oh it's definitely for only certain occasions like Christmas, or New Years, or when he got a new job.

Things i've done? idk if anyone remembers the cupcakes thing i did for him about 2 months ago. Another thing was his xmas card. i hand made the whole thing and drew little cartoons all over it. i even took time to write his name in a cute way on the envelope. um, i've also told him something super cheesy once (i won't say what it is lol)... luckily he just smiled really big and said that was one of the cutest things someone has said to him. for valentine's day, i'm planning on making a whole bunch of chocolate covered strawberries and arranging them to look like one giant chocolate covered heart.

Not as impressive, no. But their job is dancing basically naked at bars, so they look better than your average person on any given night.

So Andrew Christian (the design house) just pulls random go-go dancers from LA clubs to do these videos? What an awful job that person must have. . . (._.)

Aw, none of that stuff is cheesy. It's all really cute and sweet.

Aw thanks! You think the valentine's thing is too much though? I'm kinda new to doing these sort of things so i'm just kinda paranoid lol. And Stabbie, i remember you saying you made a mix tape for someone before- that is super super cute <3 i might have to steal that one haha.

If it makes you feel better, they're all pretty skeezy and probably going nowhere in life. And some of them are straight.

Canadian Gov’t Dissolves Thousands of Same-Sex Marriages (Including Dan Savage’s)

Sad fucking day for Canada. Thousands of legal same sex marriages absolved. >:(
Basically, if your from a country which doesnt acknowledge gay marriage, USA for example, and you marry a Canadian citizen, the marriage will not be legal.

How does that work? It shouldn't matter if the marriage is legal in another country, only if it is legal in the country it is performed in :(

Edit: Kind of amused that Dan Savage is included, fuck that guy.
/Schadenfreude.
