So much goodness at launch. Was defo expecting Sound Shapes in the launch lineup. Sound Shapes is reason number 1 to be interested in the PSP. Having wipeout and lumines at launch is dope tho.

Wait so its $15 for a USB cable? The AC Adaptor is $15 as well on Amazon.I don't get it. (edit: lol just realized its not actually a USB cable that goes into the adapter, derp)

Here are all the Vita accessories up from Amazon (according to a tweet just now)

Only one they do not have I am looking for :(

hmmm Kinda janky, they are selling the the USB cable AND the power adapter separately when you need both (in some cases)

had to cancel uncharted and repreorder it because it wouldn't give me the option for release date delivery. it was probably because 32gb card was in the order as well. funny how the card has RDD now and it let me choose it lol.

as soon as RDD shows up for wipeout i think i'll pull the trigger. just can't stop thinking about relaxing with some electronic music and some hover racing. do we know if it supports custom soundtracks, as usual?

Updated my 4GB Memory Card order to Release Date Delivery. First time offering cheap shipping for an order that is less than $25? I hope my 2 cent order goes through. LOL.

Did you check your wipeout order and click on "change shipping speed?" I was able to change it to release date shipping today.

consider yourself lucky. i tried to change mine to release date shipping just a minute ago and i still can't do it. can't change my starter kit either.

oh dang, nah i haven't preordered yet because i didn't see RDD on the listing. i will try tonight.

so yeah, make note that if you order multiple items and some of them AREN'T RDD, it won't let you select RDD on the ones that are applicable unless they're in their own order. it's so stupid. the amazon dude at least said that he would pass along my suggestion to fix that...

Custom soundtracks is an OS-wide feature isn't it?

not sure, im still fuzzy on this. i'd at least like wipeout to support it on it's own if it's not going to be a mandatory system feature. i enjoyed putting a bunch of MY OWN electronic music on my PS3 and making a custom playlist for wipeout. boards of canada, aphex twin, clark, bibio, linde, norrin_radd... *sigh*

I get the impression that the hooks are there in the SDK, so as long as developers decide to do it then you're set. At least that's how I think it is on the PS3 (maybe they've improved it for Vita).

Out of curiosity, does anyone know which games will support multiplayer out of the box? Real, online multiplayer, that is?
Launch games = Wipeout, UMVC3, Blazblue, Virtua Tennis 4, FIFA '12

Launch window games = Ridge Racer, MLB '12, Unit 13

Not sure about the Gameloft stuff or Hustle Kings

LBP too? think i heard it was ad-hoc only though, but don't quote me on that. either way it's one of those titles where some say launch, some say launch window, and some say summer 2012.

Sony's Vita blog doesn't list it as launch window, so I didn't include it, but it does have online.

Also, F1 2011 and Dungeon Hunter Alliance have full online as well. It seems Rayman Origins doesn't :-(

cool. well consider me a smiling boy.

it's good that some of these sites are finally getting their shit together now. but i have a feeling some are still going to try and take advantage of the price confusion. or should i say, GAMESTOP is going to take advantage. (ie they have the bs estimated prices scratched out as if they put the game on markdown...)

The Vita has OS level custom soundtrack support. The only catch is in some games you have to manually lower the game music to listen to your custom soundtrack.

Can you clear up when you mean when you say asynchronous? Is that similar to ad-hoc?
Asynchronous is non-real time multiplayer, meaning you take turns, like Words with Friends. It makes sense for HSG, but I have no idea what that guy means when he uses it to reference Ridge Racer or Virtua Tennis.

Asynchronous multiplayer is basically turn based game play.

In Hot Shots over 3G, you take your turn on the course and it's uploaded to server where everyone is taking their turn. Then everyone's results are sent back to you so your game updates with their progress.

I just meant that I wasn't sure what sort of multiplayer that Ridge Racer & Virtua Tennis had. But you've already cleared up that they both have full featured online infrastructure modes. Thanks!

This is totally acceptable to me.

Edit: Thanks for the answers guy's. I'll definitely pick up HSG for some casual fun. Dragons Crown is what I'm really interested in. Hopefully it's real online and not local only.

ugh, so it's essentially the music app running in the background, and only SOME games will detect it and mute their music? lamesausage.

notreallyanedit: i watched THIS HERE and he's saying that it's PSP and PS1 titles that are limited, and some will actually pause/disable your music. cool that we can run our music in the bg like that but i would much rather each game replace it's own music with tracks i've selected from playlists or folders.

maybe it'll get patched in? i have no room to complain, this is a step up from PS3 regardless.

I think Asynchronous multiplayer is a great idea for a handheld system in which you are going to be playing in short spurts. I also don't think it should be a cop out for a developer not to include real online multiplayer.

I'm sure it's the race to reach the launch and launch window and it's certainly possible that real online multiplayer could be patched in later but right now it still stings a little bit that certain games aren't supporting it right out of the box.

I love to idea for it in HSG. Makes the multiplayer more friendly as it gives you time to complete the course at your leisure.

Do you guys think I should buy the Vita @ GameStop or NewEgg or Amazon !?
I'm only considering GS because they will have a mid-night launch, which is awesome, though I am only thinking of buying Vita WiFi & Shinobido from GS and Gravity Daze, Army Corpse Of Hell, 32GB from either Amazon or NewEgg.

What do you guys think !?

Is anyone here familiar with services such as Shipto or Borderlinx? The Vita itself is $100 more in Australia than in the states so was considering a shipping service to get it here, even with courier it'd end up substantially cheaper. Any recommendations of places to try? Can i still use an AU credit card to order?

if amazon doesn't charge you tax you should just buy it online and try to get all the release day delivery.

Thanks, unfortunately they will charge me, though NewEgg doesn't charge taxes, right !?
BTW, how much will the tax cost if I buy a WiFi Vita !?

Of course it does.

It may seem like a no-brainer but frankly I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't.

I open up a game system and it doesn't have the cable for my television; I open up a game and it doesn't include an actual manual; it only seems like a matter of time before I remove the contents of the box only to find it doesn't have a plug.
