RE 4 has more horror elements than RE 5. You have to be able to quantify that.

As I said, action horror.

RE4 was me blowing away a helpless infected village with military grade weaponry. the boat scene and a few choice enemies stand out, but it was too action filled to be horror.

sheesh, RE was never that horrific to me. It's not exactly Fatal Frame.

Raccoon City was the absolute best setting, so bring this shit on so hard. Missile launchers, apachis firing, nukes, Nemesis, and metal gear acton.

I want chaos.

If this has co-op like RE5, there day one. And I never day one games.

Ashley's back to help Leon of course, her daddy just became a zombie and got shot by Leon. She wants him now. Hard.

Also, it seems you will be able to take cover and shoot similar to Gears of War, and even run and slide on the ground while shooting. Unless that was just a cutscene and not gameplay.

Well, that's not good.
I guess publishers/decision-making-people don't really see a market for Survival Horror games, going by the numbers. That's really sad.

Well, times changed. There's no goodsurvival horror games, except Amnesia. Resident Evil is just trying to release good games before it becomes another of Capcom's forgotten franchises.

Man, that trailer was sick. Looking forward to seeing more of the game.

Not excited for Revelations, but this...this I'm pumped for.

I finally need to play RE5. Or do I, gaf?

It's a fun game. Do you like fun games?

You said it has Troy Baker so the voice acting must be amazing. Can't really call that screeching sounds from what people think is either Ashley or Sherry amazing.

It's Ashley, don't know how you could be a fan of the series and not tell it's the same voice actress.

I think Bald Dude could be cool. Looked/sounded like he has all the benefits of a T/G/Whatever-Virus and none of the drawbacks. His parts could be some DMC shit (looked that way).

I don't get the hate.

RE4 wasn't horror and people love the hell out of that game.

It's complicated.

I've loved RE since spring 1996.

I liked RE4 a lot. It's an awesome game. Very well made, polished, fun to play, etc.

But as an RE game, that's a different story. I enjoyed it enough on its own merits that I played it numerous times, and double dipped across two consoles. Yet as an RE fan, it also left a bad taste in my mouth, every time I played it.

RE5 was much worse. Played it once, promptly forgot about it.

RE6 looks to me like several big steps back in the right direction.

sheesh, RE was never that horrific to me. It's not exactly Fatal Frame.

Look, Amnesia is one of my favourite games of all time, but because RE4 isn't as horror focused as that doesn't make me disregard all of the horror elements in RE4.

What? Lots of people have noticed it, it just got saddled with "no horror" due to its more action-based focus than past RE games. But it still maintained elements like extreme isolation, tension and suspense, atmosphere, and foreshadowing to create a horror mood.

it wasn't really until RE5 that people saw how 'horror' RE4 was. i was always bemused at people who thought 4 wasn't horror. but then i'm still bemused at people who think Dead Space 2 isn't either.

did someone blame DS2 for this, when it's way more horror than RE5 was? whatever.

this thread is greatly amusing me. the trailer was awesome. people are overlooking the parts of Leon's section that were very RE and RE2 for some reason. this clusterfuck of a reaction strikes me as a very positive thing. you know what no one is saying?

'Oh it just looks like RE4 but with forced co-op again'.

it looks like three campaigns each with different focuses. i think you could look at the DLC for RE5 to get an idea of what they might be doing there... or indeed look at Revelations.

If there isn't an Ashley double-fisting QTE, I'll be honest, it'll be disappointing.

Before video:
Leon-He was cool in RE4 and shit so okay
Chris-No thanks RE5 was meh and he has seen enough screen time
Ada-Yes plz

After video:
Leon-His section looks like Resident Evil. Good stuff there.
Chris-Just fucking kill him already, Wesker....
Ada-Where the fuck was Ada!?

Ashley coming back is okay and I may need to watch again for Hunnigan(holy crap is it the lady with the 80's hair?). Chris really needs to be replaced already. He will be Capcom's action boy...

Someone call Claire, Billy, Barry or Rebecca already. Any of them would be better than Chris.

I just think the TPS stuff undoes a lot of the horror. like there are horror elements there because it's RE, but it's beside the point...blowing shit away.

Wow, that was underwhelming...
And honestly, i wasn't expecting much after the 5th episode.

Seriously, looking at the direction the series has taken, it's totally BAIL OUT time for me.

Anyway, i'm surprised by the graphics: the level of detail and most of all the textures do seem pretty weak.

Is it just me, or does Leon look like Sawyer from Lost now?
