"gg" doesnt really mean good game anymore. It does sometimes, but most of the time it just means 'the game is over'. Hardly anyone says good game in a well mannered way, its just way of saying the game is over, hence why people troll and say it early.

Get bloodlust = "gg"
Win any teamfight = "gg"
Get boots first = "ggggggg"
Team picks 4 melee carries = "gggggg"
etc

WP is the new GG.

sigh, what's going on...

Usually I just get salty when I lose and happy when I win, nowadays not even winning brings any joy considering the opponents are more often than not just BMing their own team members in all chat or just going " ffs just finish it " 5 minutes into the game or disconnecting or just intentionally feeding us by sending out mass couriers to die and stuff like that.

Feels like only 1 in every 8 games is an actual good game.

Can't wait, have played about 50 games maybe feels like my bm vocabulary has become rather extensive and needs to be put to good use.

*Someone dies once*
"allchat : omg... OMG! Just uninstall the game, go hang yourself but make sure to torch the orphanage before you go. Omg noob. noooob. блять... хуй хуй хуй хуй,мудло"

pudge's hook, if I have an opponent who is standing still is it true that I'm not supposed to aim the hook at their center in order to increase my chances somehow? That sounds odd but that's what the playdota guide says. They recommend you aiming it outside of their center.

Not sure but probably it's because if he moves a little you still have a 50/50 chance of catching him?

That is assuming you just choose a side randomly.

That's what I thought as well but the guide stresses that "you'll hit the hook every time" if you somehow aim tangentially towards their hypothetical circle hitbox.

edit : ah found the pic from the guide, maybe it was different in dota 1?

Unless I'm misunderstanding, the guide is essentially telling you to lead the target (because the travel time is decidedly non-instant). Half of any good shot is predicting where the target will go and firing the hook moments before he does, if he's standing still, he could suddenly move back. If he doesn't, the hook will still probably catch him in the rear.

Synd's not on Night Stalker?

Edit: Grunt's not using NS' silence much at all, it's getting the wrong people killed.

Hmmm, seems like invokers has some bug that he always have 3 orbs + an extra wex buff. Spectated 4 different invoker games and everyone had the same thing. When I looked at one of them with 3 quas, I could see that one of the orbs was slightly purple.

Jakiro is very hard to play sometimes but your Slardar ... that I dunno, he should be stunning and stuff right?

Jakrio's breaths are pretty hard to aim, I miss a lot with them still unless we can bunch them up. Hell, I sometimes still miss on Furion with sprout, but that's just me.

Pretty crappy round of games today, finally won because I decided to play Furion after trying to use Jakiro actually. Then again, none of those games we had any disables (bar my ice path) while the other team were all melee carries with stuns and stuff.

Also, I know Ursa is far from OP but for pubbies he is, any ways to counter him? (besides not letting him get vlads and then having him solo rosh and shit which is 95% of what happens with an ursa in a pub game).

Against Ursa :
1) Pick heroes with stuns/slows/silences
2) Get ghost scepters
3) Don't let him get near you

Keep distance, he has the same problems as naix and skeleton king for example. If you can get a disable and run away you pretty much nullify him.
In worst case if nothing works ghost scepter is a good way to avoid him.
And people often say that soloing roshan is op, but the fact that he can do that is balanced by the fact that he is worse in other regards compared to other carries. It's not an instant loss to give an aegis to ursa.

and that's what I get for not updating the thread :p

To be fair though, most games where I go against Ursa when a teamfight happens it becomes an uncoordinated mess (people retreating or not even there) that is usually the bigger problem. That and we end up with no disables.

Well, he does have insane dps when being in melee range for a prolonged time, absolutely not denying that :p

Pick viper and just ult/right click him, or learn to play beastmaster and set your boar on him and ult. I'd say viper is probably the easiest way to counter him because your slow isn't on a cooldown. Tide also provides a pretty easy counter, your ulti/slow will give your teammates time to react even if they're not the best players in the game.

Mouse in peril right now, they can't farm safely and Mirana is presently outcarrying Drow.

Damn, if Trixi lived through that fight, that could have been the gap he needed to overtake Mirana (died early in the fight).

I had a game with one of my friends playing Tinker yesterday and we were facing an Ursa.
Tinkers blinding beam renders Ursa useless if done at the right time. First time I had come across an Ursa getting totally shutdown.

Tinker can shut any hero down with hex + rearm :p

The worst part is the whole burden of knowledge thing is only a problem for LoL cause they decided to go with charging for champions. Unless someone pays money or the champion is in rotation than there is a burden of knowledge cause the player has no way to play the hero himself in practice to learn what he or she does. However Dota has all heroes enabled so any hero can be fooled around with in practice mode. So the person facing Invoker only has to enable wtf mode and go spam Sunstrike on creeps for 20 minutes to learn what the hero does. Obvious it takes more to play him, but this seems to be mostly directed at a player facing Invoker.

So this might be early but any idea what next weeks hero might be? Taking into consideration the texture work we have of existing non-implemented heroes.

Does he really consider Rupture a difficult ability for a new player to use? On the topic of Invoker, aren't more then half his skills skill shots? I always felt like the difficulty in playing against a good Invoker, was how unpredictable he is, which makes it difficult to face him, never really know what skills he's going to come at you with, although it becomes a bit easier to predict depending no the build they go, but once you know, it becomes a bit easier to counter.

That Morello guy seems to like to exaggerate, and bring up points that just aren't true, like saying only a few Invoker spells are useful, when in reality there are only 2 that could be considered filler.
I guess it could be considered "bitter" to not enjoy things for what they are and instead nitpick over every minute detail, yeah.
The bitter truth of what you were saying, was that MoM on SK, will be more detrimental then beneficial, and will often kill you, so if you enjoy dying, then yes it will be a fun game, but I don't think that's the case for everyone. If you were saying it in jest then that's understandable. The general bitter truth is that, certain items are fun to tinker with, but they will often not win you games and piss off your team when you make them, like if an SK made MoM, I'd be upset.
