If I want to watch a movie, I'll watch a movie - not play Metal Gear.
Shenmue was ass, it was boring and created the QTE trend that everybody fucking hates these days.
You guys don't want it to return.
I was extremely excited about GTAIV. It took me literally YEARS to decide I didn't like it. And that was after being stuck on the same missions for a year.
I love the characters you meet right away: Niko and Roman and Brucie and Jacob, but the characters become bland and boring the further you go along. The city is beautiful and there's quite a bit to do, though it doesn't feel as fun or open or as much of a time waster as RDR.
The vehicle handling and the awkward character controls are what do it in. Seriously, they don't feel more realistic. At all. They feel like someone removed the cars' shocks and weakened the brakes. The character runs awkwardly which I blame on Euphoria and which was mostly fixed with RDR, though John still controls awkwardly at times.
I just don't like it because:
1) by the time I got to the second island, I didn't care enough about the story to proceed
2) getting into a car was a chore and I spent more time worrying about how fast I was going and whether I'd be able to break without spinning out or rolling instead of watching the road in front of me or looking for my target.
The hell it was. It's an abomination of a Resident Evil. Every time I see someone defending it as "the best", when it was either their only or first, I want to slaughter a sack of puppies.
And Leon sucks. His return for 6 is part of why I have zero interest in it. Let everyone get all hyped up. The series has been dead since Zero released. I'm going to continue to wait for a real Resident Evil 4. It'll probably never come.
It's the best by far, and I've played all of them except for the Outbreak and handheld games.

...code veronica...it was terrible.
Resident Evil 4 is hands down one of the best games ever made, and it revamped a series that needed some change. HOWEVER, the only reason it worked so well was because Mikami was involved. Capcom needs to get back to the survival aspect of survival horror, instead of trying to emulate an admittedly masterful third person shooter. RE4 did more damage to RE as a series than even 0 did, but the blame lies with Capcom's reaction to it and not with the game itself.
A game in the survival horror vein of REmake but with RE4's control scheme would have had the potential to top even RE4 if it had been handled right.
This doesn't parse.
Code Veronica *was* terrible. This is objectively true.you got your "real" resident evil 4, it was code veronica and it was terrible.
wrap it up fixed camerailures *rides off into objectively best game ever sunset with RE4: Objectively Best RE Game*
Hmmm, another one.
GoW Ghost of Sparta is much better than GoW1 and GoW3.
while you're slaughtering bags of puppies for cheap jump scares, i'm saving That Dog, who is a better and more fleshed out character than Chris Redfield or Wesker (the worst character in Resident Evil, and one that Code Veronica brought back in the worst decision in RE history)

I hate people that aren't educated on game development, yet judge it like they know whats best for the industry. If people understood how much hard work/money goes into the smallest things, I think they'd be more understanding. Then again, those people are probably too thick headed to care.
I suppose that Pokemon Black and White have the worst designs in the history of Pokemon.
And not only that, almost everything besides the battling itself is inferior to the previous games.
Black and White is the only generation where I haven't memorized all the Pokemon names within the first 1-2 days. (I still don't know more than half their names)
Fuck, I have to say this. Peoplr who hate Gears are bad at it. Period. They simply don't know how to play it. I can't blame them since its control scheme is kind of odd. Its not Halo, COD, Killzone or CS.
The controls are smooth and the visual and audio feedback is brilliant. Sure, the story is lame, but Gears isn't the kind of game you play for the plot to begin with.
Gears 3 is damn near perfect.
Not true for me, I got really good at the first gears but soon got tired of the similar formula. I don't like the feel/balance of the guns, I don't like the bulky characters. If they remade the same type of multiplayer with a more Vanquish feel, I might go back to it. Gears has okay mechanics, but it feels clunky and worn to me. Not to mention I hate the sprint in that game.
All those Gears of Retarded Duty Shooty Games.
Not to mention Gears 3 MP is just mashing A to wallbounce and/or dodge while spamming a shotgun close range.
Dear Bethesda, do you know what a QA department is? Do you know what "allowing time to fix bugs" is?
Western RPGs will get some original, fun gameplay and NOT be game breaking bugfests? Probably not before JRPGs stop having androgynous characters and linear plots.
Chrome Hounds >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Armored Core
Earth Defense Force 2017>>>>>>EDF Insect Armageddon >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> All those Gears of Retarded Duty Shooty Games.
Probably not a smart thing to say, Junior.
I cannot stand Deus Ex 1. It feels like one of the world's clunkiest shooters, and the idea of choice is irrelevant when the underlying mechanics of a game are as broken as they are in this game. It's a shooty/stealth game with bad shooting and stealth. Deus Ex 2 and 3 are much better.
We found it. The worst post.

No! Barry is the best Mercenaries character, and he should've been the star of RE4!Correction: Wesker is the best character in Resident Evil. He was also the best character in The Mercenaries.
There is no such thing as an "objectively" worst post.

I agree with this. But only in the right context. Like for freeware Indie development, it is frustrating to see people with no idea of "how the sausage is made" give a very shallow opinion of a amateur game that someone spent a lot of hard work on.I hate people that aren't educated on game development, yet judge it like they know whats best for the industry.
