3 - Order 2 x copies of Sonic Generations PS3 (maximum trade in qty is 2)

4 - When they arrive, send them back to Amazon still in their shrink-wrap using the postage paid label

Total Cost - £17.98

Amazon Credit received - £30

:D

Yeah, that's some awful Hot UK Deal style shenanigans. Nobody should be doing this shit.

Make sure to order another item that is shipped by Amazon itself and that the total amount is over £25 (or something like that).
Then select to have the items shipped in a single package a then you should get the option for free super saving shipping.

Works like a charm, unless the item you want is being sold by a 3rd party.

Ah okay thanks! Damn it, no SSD for Austria.. (and not for Germany, lol?) No money from me then. I dont want to spend 7 pounds shipping for 2 games. Probably because Austria/Germany have Amazon.de and they would cannibalize their own platform?:D

Scammers gonna scam. :-/

Next thing you know someone will offer to sell these games to fellow Gaffers for 19.99 when the price goes back up to 22.99.

right, buying a product from amazon and then taking advantage of their trade in offer is
scamming them - seriously? they offer £3 trade in for black ops, its less than gamestation lol

i'd understand if it had no limits and everybody started ordering tons of copies and it made
amazon reset the trade in price and bump up the sonic price, but its 2 copies.

Yeah, I think they only offer that option for countries that don't have their own Amazon site.

It's probably not scamming Amazon that people are moaning about, more the fact that a legitimate consumer could miss out on the game at a great price due to shenanigans like this.

Exactly. Its been happening over and over again.
People actually wanting to buy a game to play and enjoy it, but when they click 2 minutes after it's been posted, they are all gone thanks to scalpers.
It's disgusting enough to see this happening on those kinds of sites, let along GAF.

Also any potential 'scammers' be aware that all traded games have to go through an approval stage. Amazon could reject it at this stage, offering you a lower price (or you can opt to have it returned to you).

Fraudster GAF?

Poor old Amazon! It's scammers like me who could put the fragile operation out of business.

Sorry about that, guys! x

Going by your previous post that you also buy cheap games you see in this thread to trade them in at CEX, do you actually use this thread to play games or just to make a profit?

Ordered Sonic Generations along with some other stuff on Amazon. Good shit.

I feel sorry for the people who have to game the system in order to make some petty money. But hey, I won't judge and berate you, it's not illegal.

I heard that we get a nationbased Amazon here in Holland as well (supposedly Amazon.nl) Kinda bums me out a bit because no way they will have these bomba prices like the UK does once in a while. Sonic generations is still 59 euros at most local retail stores. :-/

People doing shit like that really pisses me off, really against the spirit of this thread as well.

Remember the guy on Black Friday who bought a Wii or something and tried to sell it on here at a huge markup?

Enjoy your £12

Anyway I'm considering Call of Juarez The Cartel, I know its meant to be bad but £5 at Play seems to be worth it

With the greatest respect, who the fuck are you to tell me what to do with my money?

Following on the same route as yours, where does your arrogance end? What next? Only people who will 100% complete the game should buy games listed on this thread in case they take away the opportunity for someone else who wants to 100% complete it?

Or should we only buy games listed on here if we are sure we are going to like it? If we buy it on the offchance we might like it, but then decide we don't and want to sell it after a day, haven't we "deprived" someone else who may have played it for a week? Oh Noes!

So yeah, shades of grey, and people who judge others are usually twats.

I'm sorry, but everyone has an equal chance to read this thread and buy anything listed on it. What they do with that is their business, and considering I'm not a) breaking any laws and b) completely taking the piss and profiteering from 100s of copies, I think I'm just fine as I am, buddy.

This thread has really turned to shit over the last few months thanks to some people showing their true colours.

A real shame.

This thread mostly turned to shit mid-2010 when lazy GAFfers just started copy+pasting hotukdeals.

Are you really that dumb? And this goes to everyone who decided this was worth the FREE £12...

Most of the Sonic copies at this price-point will end up being returned. Yes, you get TWELVE FUCKING POUNDS, you may now go and watch a movie and dine for free, that doesn't make you any less of a douche, considering you came to post this on a thread where people (not including myself, I'm not flaming you because you screwed my deal) were actually looking to PAY for a £8 copy of Sonic.

If you can't see why this only screws the community of this thread maybe you should get out of your I GOT MONEY FOR FREE bubble and realize where exploiting these deals will lead us.

You should buy games with the intention of BUYING them. Not with the intention of returning them and making a profit, considering there's a limited quantity available at a discounted price. For every £12 someone won, 2 people missed out on the chance of actually buying a copy of Sonic.

Now you're just shitting on the effort a lot of people put into this thread to make it unique.

It's pretty laughable that you criticize your own way of acting. You say that this thread is shit due to copying HUKD deals, when that's what you just did.

You should be proud though, it's the first time I really feel the need to ignore-list someone on GAF.

Reminds me of the Amazon.de lighning deals fiasko. GOW3 320 gb 360 for 223 euro and there were loads of them at Ebay.

Damn it, would have love a copy of Sonic for that price :/

Its stuff like this that really grinds my gears....

Its as bad as the ebayers who buy up all copies of a hard to find game and then sell them at a premium...

I thought this thread was about helping people to save money, not screwing over other consumers

..... you came to post this on a thread where people . were actually looking to PAY for a £8 copy of Sonic.

Okay, but you still haven't explained what automatically gives someone the right to purchase an £8 copy of Sonic whether they play it or not? That's because nobody has an instant entitlement to anything. If somebody wanted to play the game THAT badly, they've had a few months of it been available at anywhere between £10 - £12 depending on the deal. So I'm not going to feel too bad at depriving the folks who are opportunistic enough to wait for a sub-£10 drop by way of my opportunism. It's essentially the same thing, both they and I are making a perceived financial gain.

Now you're just shitting on the effort a lot of people put into this thread to make it unique.

Ironically, if you check my post history, I've been known to post the odd deal in here from time to time, so therefore, I'm obviously "shitting on" my own effort.

Regardless, the stark reality is that without the fantastic (and under appreciated) efforts of Keyser Souze to repeatedly post unique deal after deal, this post would by and large be a clone of hotukdeals / dealspwn

You should be proud though, it's the first time I really feel the need to ignore-list someone on GAF.

Please go right ahead. Not sure why you feel the need to announce to me that you've put me on an ignore list? Is that supposed to offend me? Are you trying to make a melodramatic statement of intent? Or are you just attention seeking? A little bit of columns A, B, C perhaps?

More deals less drama.

I agree. There has been more outrage, hysteria and taking of the moral high-ground posted in the last page of this thread than in a Daily Mail article on immigration.

reminds me of the time i wanted to trade dirt 3 on steam

"YOU WANT TO TRADE THAT GAME?!, BUT YOU GOT IT FOR FREE SO YOU
SHOULD GIVE IT AWAY TO SOMEONE FREE YOU GREEDY CUNT"

fucking pathetic

sooooo.....

can we all agree to leave this kind of profiteering stuff to HUKD, and just keep this thread to deals from gamers, for gamers

Bought Sonic for 12,50€, I intend to enjoy it.

For French-GAF : there are some awesome games in your local Fnac stores (also on fnac.fr) :
Valkyria Chronicle 2 for 5€
FFIV Complete PSP for 10€
Ghost Trick DS for 10€
Last Window for 10€
Fallout New Vegas for 8€

Agree, this thread should be about gamers saving money, not making money!

What's the difference between someone being greedy enough to wait until a game drops sub-£10 and some heinous, vile, sleazy, scum-of-the-earth scammer like myself being greedy enough to take advantage of the sub-£10 price drop to make a few quid, junior?

Besides - I'm going to save £12 on a Vita now. I rock!

Because you are deliberately screwing people out of getting something they actually want, just to make a few quid.

And these numerous attempts to justify this kind of shit just makes you guys look even more pathetic.

If you want to make money by doing shaddy stuff, then do so. But don't gloat about it here and expect people to agree with you.

Also mocking him because he is a junior ? Really ? Not that i was expecting any less from you.

It's not a question about being greedy about waiting on a certain price...

Not everyone can afford going over certain prices on a budget..

Well, if you can't see the difference between waiting to buy a game because you see it at a bargain price or buying multiple copies of the same game just to immediately sell them back to the same vendor to take advantage of a price discrepancy then I dunno what to say.

Really, this junior-snobbery bullshit should be a bannable offence, it's beyond pathetic.
