I acutally liked Now and Then, Here and There but maybe that's because parts of it were just really depressing and I like that shit sometimes.

how reluctant Shu was to kill anyone. I know it would have ruined his character but fuck it, some people in that world just needed to die.
I once read a book where at the very start a man died in a motorcycle accident and his heart was given to a woman in a transplant operation. She then took on his memories of the SECRET ELIZABETHAN ASTRONOMY CONSPIRACY he had been investigating.
She also fell in love with the dead man's brother, and by the end of the book she had so absorbed the heart into herself that she didn't need to take immunosuppresants or anything.
It was worse than almost any anime I have ever seen.

After chaining Code Geass, School Days, and Katawa Shoujo together, this was an excellent relief. I don't think I'll ever get over how amazing this interpretation of Brotag is -- I kind of want to replay the game again with this new perspective. Also, Naoto(next episode spoiler)

When everyone was discussing Xebec last night, I momentarily imagined what the Lagrange characters would look like with Hirai Hisashi character designs. I guess Linebarrels permanently killed any further demand for his particular style.
I only ever made it part of the way through Fafner, so now I'm tempted to marathon it. Yeah, I think I will.
Did you watch Right of Left? It's the prequel OVA. Def worth a watch before you marathon the series.

Linebarrels' protagonist has to be one of the whiniest and least-likeable in the history of anime, at least for the three episodes that I made it through. Not even amnesiac fanservice girl could make it tolerable.

Definitely the best episode yet. The Captain matches were just awesome, and I thought the anime did a great job expanding on them somewhat from the manga. Kaidoh, Tezuka and Atobe are all awesome, and I loved

This show isn't good enough for me to like, but it's not bad enough for me to drop. I hate it. I can't possibly justify why I'm watching it except that other people have watched it. There's nothing there but dialogue and harem factor. I feel like my enjoyment of the show shows how lonely and pathetic a human being I am. I guess that's worth something.
Also, watching it gives me something to discuss here, whereas watching Usagi Drop, Tatami Galaxy, and Kuuchuu Buranko just leaves me with reactions that go, "This show is good, I liked it, looking forward to watching the next episode!" That's not particularly interesting, but I can't help it.

I'm more so worried about it being depressing as hell, followed by rage. Same reason I've avoided Saikano.
I marathoned all of NTHT in a single sitting. Looking back, it was better to down the whole glass of despair at once rather than over the course of two or three days because I didn't have enough time to reflect on the individual events of each episode. Still didn't keep me from really feeling like shit after it was all over.
After what they've done to you, sometimes you just want to watch the world burn.
If this is the case, then yes I would recommend avoiding it.
I could never manage to finish this one. There's boring and then there's this.

There are some contrivances to make things as tragic as possible, but I didn't watch it with the most critical eye. The show is supposed to tear you apart, not the other way around!

It's pretty unfortunate that a bunch of people here need to keep up their Key hate, I know I've said it many times before but it's so undeserved... and for Angel Beats in specific, the art and visuals were just fine. One shot you have some problems with certainly is not representative of the show as a whole.
Haibane Renmei is such an amazing, incredible show, far and away better than most other anime... agreed about the soundtrack though, and yes, it does have a very strong ending.
You're referring to just the visuals, I hope? Because otherwise that first sentence is really bad... but even so, seriously, that doesn't make any sense, no. If you think Angel Beats looks fine you haven't watched much anime? What? That's kind of absurd.
Yeah, I mostly agree. The last two episodes really are not what the show should be. Not enough focus on the action side, no Yarizui, too much harem stuff... no, that's not what the series should be about. It's too bad that it falters at the end, of course, because it had some pretty good moments earlier in the series...

Tantei Opera Milky Holmes 2 - While this episode was indeed better than the first episode, I still found it disappointing compared to most of the first season. The first half of this episode was really no improvement over episode one at all. No, I really do not like this "they've forgotten all about being detectives and what toys are" arc, the idea that they would COMPLETELY forget all of that stuff is just impossible to believe even for characters like these. They would not forget to that degree...
After the halfway point things do improve, though. The part with them on that car as it careens through town was pretty funny, including
. The chase before that, and the setup for the episode with that rich guy, was pretty stupid, but that part at least was funny.
