Anyone in the world knows that remote control cars are accel on the left, steer on the right!

Throttle on a trigger and steering with a wheel was my preference.

Most of the impressions I've read from Motorstorm that were negative were generally about the camera not being inside or directly above the car (which would defeat the purpose of it being RC) and from the controls because they couldn't work them out. I'll be keeping it on my "probably" list until I've played it for myself.

Thats how I felt too when I watch the trailer. I've never been a fan of games where you have to manipulate the environment instead of the character to achieve a goal. They just don't "click" with me, like Echochrome.
Totally. Now the game seems like a touch control gimmick more than anything. Preorder canceled.
Still gonna get it if it's $10, despite being disappointed about character control. The game looks so charming.

I'm probably just going to be playing psp games on this thing until gravity rush.

If there is a demo and they have the option to swap the sticks then I am definitely in, but if I cant swap the sticks then there is no way I will play it, it would just feel so wrong.
No insult, but I never liked those trigger remote, some of my competitors used them, and let me try theirs out, but they never clicked with me.
Plus I used the same remote for both my cars and my planes, so it helped streamline my kit a bit.

I own it on the iphone, ipad, ps3 and PC (as stated earlier in this thread). The best playing version without a doubt, is the ipad version. Absolutely perfect touch control game. Second would be the iphone (screen is a little small but still better than using a mouse or controller). Third is pc with a mouse. 4th is a controller.

Am serious

My point was more that I had no idea it had been announced for Vita, or if I did it had slipped my mind. I have (and love) the iPhone version, but I don't think I could pick it up again (also have the PS3 version via PS+).

Plants vs Zombies, if you havent picked it up yet on another platform.

isn't a PSP game? I am looking into PSN VITA only games (for the trophies!)

Edited: looks like PvZ will be a VITA release, after all. I am surprised that there is not a PSP version.

Anyway, I will get it. Just in time, I am just finishing the 3rd version I have from it.

I've tweeted @MotorStromRC about both so lets see if they respond.

And no, I'm insulted. I shall now sulk in a corner :P

I couldn't get the hang of twin sticks myself but then I only ever had a Savage and a Hyper 7 & 8. Wanted a Heli but it seemed like a whole lot of money to send up into the air only for it to come crashing back down. At least with the cars if something went wrong it was just a walk away except for the time I set my brothers failsafe up backwards. Went out of range and went WOT lol.

Anyway, Vita, woo yeah! Considering that we know little about any games beyond April I'm really looking forward to seeing what they have been keeping quiet about. I can't believe that they have nothing so they must just be focusing on the launch.

Apparently the designers decided to go with steering direction on the LEFT analogue, and acceleration on the RIGHT?!
Anyone in the world knows that remote control cars are accel on the left, steer on the right!

Well that is most common set up in videogames. Steer with left, accelerate with right.

But sure they should have an inverted option for the real RC racers...

Right, for $9.99, why not?

Eurogamer.net reviewed Wipeout. They gave it 7/10.
Shitty review. I bet this guy doesn't even played the game. He only explains some generic stuff already shown in some videos and previews. Forgets to talk about 80% of the features and content.

That loading times were what I experienced in the old beta, that someone said it was an old TGS build. So I doubt they wouldn't improve it for the final game.

Edit : At the end of the review they even admit they didn't played the final EU build (or even a EU review build), he says that just played a JP version.

My local GameStop has a Vita now. But it's covered under plastic. They told me they will only expose the Vita for hands-on @ launch day. 8^/

I wonder if the Sony rep doesn't let them have a demo station up, if so; then that's just downright stupid. Either way, I'd be so tempted to smash some glass.

This is probably just me, but I have completely scratched Uncharted off my list of games I wanna get for the Vita. I liked the series when it first started, really remember enjoying UC1. I remember liking UC2 less but I thought that was mainly cuz I didn't enjoy the story as much as the first. I just finished playing UC3 yesterday finally, and ugh...I am just done with that series.

I still didn't really have a huge attachment to the story as much, but my biggest problem was actually playing that game. The enemies were such bullet sponges, and I felt the linear nature of the platforming and set piece parts just were not fun or as impressive anymore. I think they hit a home run with UC1 because at the time it was really impressive, and then they tried to continue that with UC2 which is fine...but I felt it was just played out with UC3 and I didn't care anymore. Combat drove me nuts because I could shoot enemies so many times and they're still standing. They didn't refine the series to make the games actually play better, they just made more crazy set pieces.

Anyway, it just really helped me realize I have no urge or desire to play Uncharted Golden Abyss on my Vita. I'm done with that series so much, and once again wish that Gravity Rush was a day 1 release instead.

I completely agree with this entire post. I went from being super excited for it to not interested. I'm still playing Uncharted 3 and I'm starting to get sick of it. So I'm thinking of getting Rayman Origins instead (on my gamefly rental)

I also have not posted what I'm buying yet
First Edition Bundle
32GB Memory Card
Sony Screen Protector
Hot Shots Golf
Wipeout 2048

Renting a few titles from Rayman.

Lastly, are we definitely sure we can't play over 3G? I asked at the Vita Social club and they told me you could play MvC3 over 3G. Of course they could be lying or misinformed. I hear it works in Japan.

So I went to two Taco Bells today..
Neither of them had the boxes :(
One told me they should be getting theirs in tomorrow.
The other told me they're getting theirs in on Monday, so they let me get two of the meals, signed my receipt, and are going to give me two boxes when they get them in on Monday.. :p
Hopefully the first Taco Bell gets theirs tomorrow.

Taco Bell near me had them today

bought one but didn't win :(
I'm not even sure if it's worth getting again. I like the taco supreme and beefy crunch burrito, but the crunchwrap supreme was serious horse shit. I drenched it in hot sauce, as it was the only way to eat it without losing my appetite.

Yeah, I agree. He didn't really give his thoughts on the multiplayer campaign. Still his complaints seemed valid.

i'm not excited at all for uncharted, but i preordered for 25 and love the console games. it's just happening i guess. i'm sure i'll enjoy it, but it doesn't have me stoked like wipeout.

Dude. You just preordered a chance to win a Vita.

the dip in frame-rate and the move to the Vita's less substantial analogue stick stings a little

BURN THE ANALOG STICK WIPEOUT HERETIC

Other than that it seems valid - load times are going to be a constant bug bear for people with some games though, i can't see how we get around it easily (though Wipeouts SHOULD be faster)

Hey now, I'm good either way...actually finding the analog control in 2048 quite tasty. But I can see some sections of our stubborn old AG Racing league not willing to forgo the digital taps.

i just can't do it - i don't know what it is - same with Winning Eleven, i just can't play the games on analog sticks :(

Totally agree.

I loved the idea behind the fist Uncharted and I finished it enjoyng the experience (even considering some flaws). I played (and beated) Uncharted 2 just because of the graphics but I got annoyed. A friend of mine borrowed me Uncharted 3 and I really don't like it at all (except for the graphics). Dumb AI, weak shooting system,... possibly the most overrated game of the year IMO.

I will get it on Vita when I find it for a few bucks.

Totally understand. And especially with a game that requires precision, like WipEout. Still, I think that Eurogamer review is a touch iffy...but I'm not going to complain. If you're a WipEout fan, you'll love 2048. The dawn of AG racing is visually fascinating, to boot.

He complained of clutter in the game, is it an actual issue (i.e. distracting to the racing) or is he just complaining that it lacks the cleanliness of later WO games? WO has always been visually busy, although usually in a different way, but I'm always so intently focused I don't notice it when I'm actually playing the games.

It can get a little hectic in tunnels with rockets and plasma etc. detonating amongst the pack, and perhaps the engine wash can obscure corners a touch, but it's minor to insignificant AND speaks more to a player's knowledge of the track.

I think perhaps the meshing of old and new didn't jive with the reviewer when set against the surgical lines of HD/Fury...but thats neither here not there.

Racing game of the year, and it's still only January. That's not too IGN of me, is it?!

To those complaining about Golden Abyss who actually havent played it - it is A LOT better then UC3, more on par with UC2. The story is interesting and the game is actually fun. Im really enjoying it and i HATED UC3 and stopped in the middle cos it was so boring.

I liked it a lot better than UC3. It just feels like there is more treasure hunting, and some neat uses of touch. The story also was decent, but I posted more detailed impressions in the OT. If you like Uncharted, you'll probably enjoy it. Some of it felt cumbersome (touch mini game stuff) but the puzzles feel more involved, and the controls feel great when you get used to them!

Seconding this. It's a great, tight little prequel/sidestory that doesn't overreach. WipEout takes the cake for launch title, but people shouldn't dismiss this particular Bend effort. I'm quite looking forward to comparing the shooting mechanics of Golden Abyss and Unit 13.

This is good news. Love UC2 but didn't enjoy UC3 (story was good but the gameplay and encounters were poorly handled).

I just don't think I can take another uncharted game so soon. Maybe in a month or so. I think I have two chapters left in uncharted 3. Also, I played it at social club but my 5 minutes probably did not do it justice at all

They needed a game that the US consumer would have interest in on a Sony platform. Uncharted isn't quite Halo or Mario, but it's as very well known name now.

UC3 has turned me off the series, but I'll gladly give Golden Abyss a chance when it's not 50 bucks. If it launches at 39.99 or less on PSN, I'll give it a shot. I already hate myself for overpaying for Lumines...40 bucks. Good god. But I justify Lumines to myself by remembering that I still play the original almost daily on my PSP, so 40 dollars ultimately isn't that bad of a deal. UC is a game that's one and done for me, so even 40 for that is steep (for me). I wish they would have had the time to add cheats/extras to make subsequent play-thrus more interesting.
