Just recieved my copy of Okamiden from eBay... is there a way to tell if its fake or not? The manual looks badly printed and I didn't get the black warning booklet, i got a US white one... the game seems legit though, it worked on my 3DS (latest firmware). The PCB has Nintendo markings, although that means nothing... :SSSSSSSSSSS

Looks like this guy has already got some neg feedback! *sigh* time to send it back and report it to ebay.

Usually the battery save doesn't work in a fake GBA/DS game.

I remember back in the GBA days, then the code printed on the front label were pretty much always wrong. I mean, the code was a legit GBA code, but it didnt corresponde with the game (like it had the code for a Mario game on a Zelda game just to take one example). I'm not sure if this is the case with pirated DS games as well, but try to check if the code on the Okamiden label is correct (seach on Google).

I bought one from Amazon and it was fake. Easy to tell, just check the back and look at the green bit on the chip above the golden connectors. If it says 'Nintendo' it's fake as hell. Also check the colour of the label on the cart, if it looks washed out/lighter/yellowy compared to a normal cart it's likely to be fake. Also, the staples on the manual were slightly off centre. The plastic on the case had waves on it as well and didn't feel quite the same as a legit case. There will be lots of little tell-tale signs.

Not only that, the copy I got had a glitch where you couldn't progress past one part of the game, about two hours in. At least pirate the rom that works!

I could tell it was fake from the picture. I've never seen a DS game that uses that cheap ass cling film-esque plastic seal.

Yeah, I ordered from the same guy and it's almost certainly a fake. I doubt PayPal will ask you to send it back though, I think they ask for counterfeit goods to be destroyed.

I kind of fancy a western game for some reason (loved rdr but think watching true grit made me want another) has anyone played call of Juarez 1 or 2? Any good or going cheap anywhere?

They're usually on sale on Steam. The second one is relatively more polished than the first and is actually an okay game. Don't know about the console versions.

What? Is this a joke reference to that Namco game or did I make a mistake in buying the PAL version of Layton a couple of months ago.

There's a rather large brownie-brown made social rpg on the jp/us version of spectre's call called london life.

Not on the euro version because nintendo didn't want to pay for the extra translation work.

I said wow. Good thing I never picked this up, but I may just now import when I get around to wanting it.

Has anyone else the problem with the Cheap Arse Gamer website that it changes between the Uk and the US version on reloads? Never had this problem before and it made the site a pain to use.

Yeah, and that in the best selling region... Europe sales from the Layton series outsell the US by a mile.

Spotted Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of the sky for £10 in Morrisons today,. and nobody cared...

Rabbids Travel in Time special edition with some Rabbid figurine for £15 in some HMV stores, still nobody cared...

Based off the OT impressions I'd say calling London Life an RPG is like calling Animal Crossing an RPG. Its only 100 hours if you repeat the exact same tasks over and over again to earn enough money to buy the really expensive stuff.

Its a bonus mini-game (or was described as such to the project organisers). NOE made a stupid decision not just sticking the English one on the cart.

Xenoblade is 98p in-store at GAME if you can find a copy.
Isn't that their code for deleting it (and GAME wonder why they're in a mess when they don't stock games 6 months after their release) but still having unaccounted copies. It might also be a code for employees to mark the remaining new copies as pre-owned which are sold at considerably more (but still making a loss as they're still below trhe wholesale price GAME paid in the first place, no wonder GAME are in a mess...).

Basically you'll only get it for £0.98 if its missplaced and the overworked emlpoyees don't have time to find it.

Yes, the 100 hour thing is blown horribly out of proportion.

Vita Trade-in prices at GAME (if you are into that)

I got other M, Fallout, Portal 2, Dudebro, Mafia 2, Guitar hero metallica, PES 11, Splinter cell convication, Metro 2033, and two ps3 games i was gonna get for a friend but i left in store. All for £1 each.

Hmm, wonder if they'll take my US 2000.
They are meant to check the serial numbers which normally tells you region and they'll reject non European ones (same reason Lik-Sang got shut down, they're not EEC tested so could explode and kill us all). Also charging lead. So I'll say you're unlikely to succeed.

The Game Collection. A trustworthy site?
Someone had a bad preorder experience with them. I don't save card details with them but for the orders I've done they're fine.
