I don't see the yuri stuff. Or is holding hands now lesbian?
There's something green in that picture, and it's not a giant robot.
I don't see the yuri stuff. Or is holding hands now lesbian?
It's almost unsettling how much people are forgetting about the student council president. We're talking about quadrangles man!Yuri triangles man. Yuri triangles.
You really don't notice the yuribait?I don't see the yuri stuff. Or is holding hands now lesbian?
I didn't mean to imply that, but Nise doesn't have very much going on outside of that. I don't think the writing or characters are very strong in Nise outside of what's going on in episode three, and some of the dialogue in the first episode.
Right now the show is directionless, pointlessly juggling "harem" members in and out for screen time without emphasizing a particular need for anything. There are lingering threats in the periphery, but outside of the encounter with the guy in episode three their absence from the show is noticeable. Bake was pretty good about being focused on its particular goal at any one time, and the conversations in that centered around where the show was going, so the dialogue felt more pointed. Nise simply feels like its reveling in its meandering, and even if the dialogue can feel like its strong at times it lacks much context into a greater plot.
I don't remember that character at all...It's almost unsettling how much people are forgetting about the student council president. We're talking about quadrangles man!

Yes, but these animu have the added benefit of having no male presence whatsoever. No, but I did when I was in grade school. Girls 'steal' friends from each other all the time.
Do you get intensely jealous when your best friend decides to do things without you? lol
Kids do all the time.Do you get intensely jealous when your best friend decides to do things without you? lol
Well that's just anime being anime.Yes, but these animu have the added benefit of having no male presence whatsoever.
The dialogue in episode four is not situated around that at all. You also have to look at the format change. In the past, Araragi would solve the issue primarily through discourse with the person he was curing that made it seem like he was working towards that solution. Nise so far has been about putting things off, even with the introduced necessity of someone suffering from some demonic ailment. There's already a goal though, and it's back to the "curing the girl of the week" format for the time being.
I don't remember that character at all...
Who?
Kendo girl in Episode 1 who's also the student council president, hence, she wanting Madoka to be in either club. She was also referred to in the classroom scene in Episode 1 when some girl scheduled an appointment with Madoka for the kendo spar on her behalf.Who?
She doesn't get a chair in the ED, so she doesn't count!Kendo girl in Episode 1 who's also the student council president, hence, she wanting Madoka to be in either club.

I know someone here has read the novel, so maybe he can espouse on the topic, but I'm assuming that a lot of this is because the novels change up the familiar format. Given that I wasn't really invested in the "curing" arc structure of the original Bakemono because they were fairly perfunctory, I find myself not having a problem with just random episodes where Araragi is catching up with every girl. The dialogue in episode four is not situated around that at all. Why is it unusual for a 13 or 14 year old student in a single sex school to have no opposite gender friends?
It isn't.
It would be quite a bit more unusual for them to both be homosexual, really.
I need somebody to explain this to me. Are single sex schools still common? It sounds like a really terrible bullshit cliche.
It's not, but depictions of these relationships end up having subtext. Even Rudyard Kipling's books have what we would term "shounen-ai" by virtue of having boys be close in an all boys school. Why is it unusual for a 13 or 14 year old student in a single sex school to have no opposite gender friends?

Hey, the British formalized the sempai/kohai relationship through "fagging". You think a relationship where a boy is essentially a manservant to another boy isn't wrought with subtext? It's not our fault you're perverted right?
Assuming a couple eps a day is the way to go then? Looking forward to watching LOGH myself.

(Again, I'm speaking of depictions/representations.)
Uh huh. lolIt's still not our fault you're perverted.![]()

With all due respect I must disagree. I blame my new found perversion on all of you,Especially cuilan

Well, it's like MariMite. Outside of the one lesbian character, these girls are all straight. But the subtext is so thick that it becomes text at some point. So pretty much all pubescent same-sex friendships in fiction have subtext if they're being observed/depicted by thirty year olds, right?
I mean, I wasn't kidding when I said there was nothing outside of the bounds of a normal friendship in BRS. Besides the alternate dimension thing, ofc.
Nisemonogatari 4: You can't see anything in the bathroom scene. I don't find it particulary disturbing.

Well presumably you will see everything when the DVD/Blurays release. That's really not the issue though. The problem is that it takes up over half the episode. To put that in perspective, there was more naked loli in this one episode than the entirety of RoKyuBu and Astarotte combined.
Eh, the Yumi/Sachiko relationship doesn't seem all that different to me than the many other faux-yuri relationships in animu today.Subtext is actually present and not just imagined in Marmite, though.![]()

We take responsibility for your perversion. But not firehawk's!
True. I genuinely think 300 is the best gay movie ever made.sometimes, but to apply it everywhere seems like you're wielding you're own brush, my bro.
I really need to watch Wolf's Rain.
True. I genuinely think 300 is the best gay movie ever made.
But practically no-one likes Wolf's Rain!
Other than Brad's abs, I don't really remember that movie.Troy is better as a gay movie.

I was already a pervert, but AnimeGAF helped me come out of the denial phase and come toward acceptance. That means I'm healing, right?
nise 3 - wow that was actually pretty good
nise 4 - wow that was excruciatingly awful
Lagrange 04:
Muginami deeeeesu.
Muginami deeeeeeeeeeesu.
Muginami's fluffy warmth and joy and moe and love and cleavage washed over me like a glorious ray of summer sunlight. And she barely even did anything. My heart is probably going to explode when she actually has a more active role in the story.
Fin was no slouch in the hnnnnnngh department, however.Fin,ClumsyFin,depressedFin,jealousFin, and MULTIPLE WANS. INTO MY VEINS, NOW. MARU? WHAT'S THAT?socially clueless
Also, I totally called a couple of days ago thatApparently, I was right.the pilots' magical crests (now officially "memoria") would be conveniently located on various erogenous zones of their bodies.I'm sure this will be totally justified by some later plot point or revelation.Madoka = ass, Fin = chest, Muginami = pelvis.
There were women in that though, weren't there? (Other than Helen, of course). It was like a WWE movie, except with the Trojan war as a backdrop. Eric Bana was pretty hot in it too.
To answer that all you have to do is trust that big feeling in your pants.
Fuck off. I already claimed Muginami as Mai Waifu like 100 pages ago.
fixed.![]()
I feel bad for you watching these both back to back. At least everyone else had a week to forget how good episode 3 was.
I should, but I still can't at the moment. You should see Weekend. It really is pretty damn good.
