I thought Wipeout on PS3 was pretty bland. Did the version you got free include the expansion? The expansion is awesome.

Fury? yeah I've got that too. Should I just start with that?

To be completely honest, the only reason I'm interested in Wipeout 2048 is its setting and concept. I love the idea of a campaign that spans generations of automobile evolution and innovation and somehow transitions into hovercar racing. I know that's not the point of 2048, but that intro cutscene was enough to raise my eyebrow.

They had it at best buy, with only little deviants. I played the back touchpad wack a mole game, and OMFG DAMN is it intuitive. My mind somehow just knew how to hit the back where the deviants are on the front. Amazing! They hardware is top notch, super slick, high tech alien shit man!!! The buttons are small including the analogs, but don't worry at all, I'm only saying that for informational purposes, everything functions perfectly fine, the analogs feel good, and the buttons have a much better click to them. Puts the PSPs buttons to shame. The system is also extremely comfortable to hold with fingers on the buttons or the analog sticks. The screen is absolutely stunning. Mind blown upon viewing it from a couple feet away as I approached the best buy rep, he already knew why I was walking toward him. It's also very very light but still feels high tech and packed to the edge. The pixel density is really packed and the UI speed is blazing fast, just like iOS, polished and shiny corner to corner. The analogs also have rubber on them for a great grip, with comfort, don't feel any cramps at all. I really think this is gonna be a successful device and I know I'm super super hyped, especially now, but really, once the price hits mainstream, there is no way someone would write this off. This is one of the greatest things I have ever laid my hands on. I will get it for sure, keeping my pre-order, never thought otherwise, and this just convinced me all the more. Sony hit a grand slam with this, and I'm so glad. I thought the 3DS was great when I used to have it in terms of hardware. But after this, there is no comparison. Bravo Bravo!, I CANNOT WAIT, FEB 22 ROLL ON GODDAMNIT!!!

Just know that 2048 does not have a racebox(customize race events), which was a big letdown for me. The actual gameplay and the tracks are very well done though.

That reminds me of the Logitech Playgear Pocket for the PSP which was awesome.
That might even be better than the Pull and Go Folio because it holds 8 games and is 10 bucks less.

I'm so torn as to whether or not I feel like investing in this thing yet or not. I have some disposable income set aside for it and everything, but there's nothing out at launch that I really care to play. If only Persona were a launch title!

Yeah, Fury is great. The base-game is blahhhhh.

And yeah, HSG has a great online component. Almost identical to the PS3 version. Love the lobbies.
Fury was eh to me but I hate that 2048 is not going have tournament mode
+1 vote

I am getting the Sony screen protector 2 pk. As I understand it the rear touchpad is the same dimensions as the screen so I could use one for the front and the rear, correct?

thanks

Hopefully Sony puts up a template on the web like Logitech did. Limitless customization options FTW!

Your Welcome, but from now on you have to call the restaurant Takao Bell :p

That Hori face cover looks awesome. I have the Logitech one for my PSP and it's great that it doubles as a stand. Will definitely get that one as my case.

have there been any retail demos of the augmented reality games? were any of those games launched with Vita in Japan? I saw those AR tech demos with the tanks/road-tracks/football stadiums and they looked cool......anyone know if those games will make the US launch

For Japanese launch there was AR Combat DigiQ, for Western launch we get 3 free AR games (including the Soccer one) with more on the way.

How laggy is remote play, is a game like Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 comfortable to play with that sort of lag.

It isn't too bad... I uploaded a few new videos. Some games work way better than others.
Say for fighting games Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit was really Laggy, while Ninja Storm was perfect.

Just ordered it--thanks for posting. That thing looks really nice. I loved my Logitech PSP case and this looks similar.

Yeah, it definitely looks nice. I'll wait for feedback on the various cases before I pull the trigger, but this is at the top of the list.

Don't know if this has been posted yet:

NeoGAF Search is disabled and I cannot find anything reliable on google. What's the news with the PSP UMD transfer/passport for North America?

It also looks fucking amazing in motion on that screen. For a launch game to show people "That money was well spent, right?", it should do the job.

Yeah, saw that, but I want the PSN version so that I'll always have access to the game. If it's like all the other Lumines games, all the tracks will be on youtube at some point.

Man, this thing is really slick. As others have said the screen is HUGE. The buttons are a little closer together than I expected, but nothing I won't get used to. Definitely needs a case. I'm scared of scratching it up.

The Welcome Park video is really slick and inviting - they've obviously taken some cues from Apple and Nintendo (IMO) in terms of making the device really easy to use.

Currently wasting time playing JP PSN demos while I'm supposed to be working. Wipeout is insane - love the sound effects too, reminds me of the Star Wars pod racing. Seeing it so clear on the screen is just fantastic - the colour, resolution, and quality all make it a really awesome portable machine. Would be great to see it do well.

My only worry has been the sticks, will they work for shooters? I'm hoping this will be the first handheld that works well for shooters.

They certainly feel good to use, and much better positioned than the PSP one. Beyond that I can't say - haven't tried any shooters on it yet :(

Just playing Uncharted demo now - the touch stuff is seriously tacked on, but the shooting using the gyro is amazing. I'm playing on my office chair and spinning around to aim at enemies. Easily amused!
