Fabulous max!You cast a wider net, darling. :3
Pizzaroll likes lots of frames with scribbled figures on them.pizzaroll likes lots of stylized animu.
I think so?

It's amazing how worked up this forum gets given that we are all watching a bunch of Japanese cartoons.
I mean seriously, think about it for a second.
Even the best animated stuff outside of maybe Miyazaki's work gets blown the fuck away by Disney cartoons. Anime was never really about the animation itself. Thats the strict definition of it, but its basically manga in color with sound and music and SOME movement.
Anime is about the characters and stories, and the experience of watching it. The ANIMATION part of it is laughable.

Why do you say that, because it's stylized?
Well, you're wrong. Sorry you have to be like that.
I'll give him that at least. lolKunihiko Ikuhara: OG anti-heteronormative crusader~
Oh god... no..I shouldn't touch this because it's really wrong but w/e.
Disney stuff is largely really boring (visually speaking) moving storybooks. It's a complete snooze. Anime has less frames but it's what they do with them that makes me prefer anime.
Also this post is really kinda insulting to all the talented and dedicated animators who are/were part of the anime industry. Please retract this post.
SHAFT doesn't do much (ie, they're still horrid even using this as a measure) with their limited animation, truthfully. There are good examples of shows that do good with very few frames and there is not a single SHAFT show in that imaginary list of mine that does not exist but will slap together if urged to do so.I'm not saying there isn't good animation in anime, just that in light of other works by non-anime producing studios around the world, it is hardly impressive. Pizzaroll is right that its what they do with the limited amount of animation, but at the same time, this goes to show how fucking stupid this argument is given that Shaft does a hell of a lot with a little bit of animation. It just plays into my argument.
Oh yeah, well I watch it for the music!"I don't know about you guys, but I watch anime for thetsundereskugilolis."
I was giving pizzaroll a hard time over his love for the horrendously drawn scenes in Birdy S2, but apparently I have dug too deeply and greedily in this endeavor and have now unleashed a demon of the ancient world upon this thread.notsureifserious.jpg
...must be some inside joke I just don't get.

Just quit thinking that anime is somehow lesser as a whole to the rest of the world technically speaking. It is factually wrong.

Thank you! Someone knows what I'm talking about.
I've seen a fuckload of it. I'm right here.
I've seen the best animation the industry can offer and yes, I would put that stuff up against anything, but the vast, vast majority of it is horrible in the animation department. The ARTWORK AND DETAIL is magnificent, but the actual movement is a janky mess. This applies to some very good shows too. Thats just how it is. I dont judge anime by that metric anyway and neither should anyone. I dont mean to hurt anybody's feelings. I'm not a callous penguin.
People should judge anime by that metric because otherwise what is the point of it being animated?I've seen a fuckload of it. I'm right here.

edit: would post-Walt be after his death or after WWII when he stopped giving a shit about anything other than Disneyland?
cajunator is correct though, Disney anything pretty much blows any anime out of the water as far as pure technical animation achievement is concerned. As it should, given the massive budgets those movies tend to get. Not that it necessarily makes them better looking of course.
That shouldn't discredit the efforts many talented Japanese animators though, as even with shoestring budgets many of them are able to make very good looking works. Shaft is a prime example of that obviously.
Or we could have actually talked about Rinne? Now I have an idea what is for you average. But maybe you should just write your opinion then playing the pseudo-objective game.
Why would that happen? It's not selling well because people liked the episode with the cool action sequence in it - it's selling well the the fujoshi market and they don't really seem too bothered by how crappy and inconsistent the show looked a lot of the time.

Ofc, but I don't think he had much to do with them. (dat Mary Blair art) But then you'd have to include crap like The Sword in the Stone, so...
I know for a fact he was very hands off with Sleeping Beauty which is why Eyvind Earle got to go wild.
Is this now a big budget movie production vs. little TV anime discussion?

Unless someone tells me otherwise, I don't even think S7 bomba. It did decently well for what kind of show it was. 4,000+ was it?I have no idea why, but it did feel good to watch S7 bomb after getting most of the funding that season. If anything, I would just rather they get the ability to be able to cut back on some of the CG because they were pretty much forced to use it more than they wanted to (according to recent interviews at any rate), and also because well, it's CG.
Sure the end was weak, but the ride was at least way more interesting thanSquallArma riding his scooter and hislarge-chested loli friendfriend Ruri.
Why does it have to be "better" ? Japanese animation is very respectable and deserves to be mentioned in equal standing to the rest of the world's animation, period. It has lots of garbage shit, but so does everything else. No, because even TV productions of many animated shows beat out anime. Im just saying animation isn't anime's strong suit, and it never really was. Its still animation and it takers a lot of work to make moving art, but it doesnt mean the Japanese do it better.
I know its not a popular opinion among anime fans but I'm not ignorant to this medium. I have seen many hundreds of shows from many different periods of anime and I am pretty adamant about this in particular. It doesnt personally hurt my view of anime though, becausel ike I said the animation quality isn't what I hold to high regard. Bleieve it or not I also don't qualify an anime as good just because it has HNNNG in it, although that greatly helps.
