Mixture of things. I'm sure some Jets fans sick of Rex's bullshit. NY fans hate other NY teams (e.g. Yankees/Mets). Giants are vastly more popular, fuck them attitude.

Aaron Rodgers is pissed at the NFC Pro Bowlers

What He Said said:
"I'll be honest with you,I was a little bit disappointed. I felt like some of the guys on the NFC side embarrassed themselves"

"I was just surprised that some of the guys either didn't want to play or when they were in there didn't put any effort into it."

Giants back up plan would have been Big Ben if they couldn't make the deal with the Chargers for Eli....

INDIANAPOLIS — Seated at the most crowded podium during Tuesday’s Media Day, Giants QB Eli Manning fielded questions about older brother Peyton‘s healthand playing in his second Super Bowl. But what if Manning never was traded to the Giants on the day the Chargers drafted him No. 1 overall in 2004?

The man behind that podium actually might have been Ben Roethlisberger.

On Tuesday, Giants owner John Mara recalled the crazy April day eight years ago when New York and San Diego eventually reached a deal that sent Manning to Big Blue, which agreed to draft Philip Rivers at No. 4 and trade him in a package that included two other unused draft picks.

But had the deal never been done, Mara said, the Giants instead would have selected Roethlisberger.

“(Chargers general manager) A.J. (Smith) played it pretty cool,” Mara said. “There was no communication the night before until I think we were on the clock. It really did go down to the wire. Our backup plan was Ben Roethlisberger, so we felt like we were in good shape. But we had our hearts set on Eli at the time.”

Rodgers/Newton feud! Oh shit, get ya popcorn!

Just watching a bit of 18-1 on NFL network, lol Eli got so lucky , lol that drive just shown, fumble batted to a teammate ,easy pick dropped.

I really hope the Pats get the ball first, lol at the 84758486867 minutes in the first drive of that game, GRONK would be dead if that happened sunday

LOL Brady getting killed that game, RIP

It seemed like everything was going the Giants way that game.So many lucky plays.

Rivers to New York
vs.
Ben to New York

Eli to San Diego
vs.
Ben to San Diego

Eli to Pittsburgh
vs.
Rivers to Pittsburgh

I can't even imagine that landscape in any of those scenarios.

It's fascinating to me to hear Jets fans actually conflicted about this. There's just no way in hell I would ever root for a division rival...EVER. Like NEVER.

?? There is no conflict. I am rooting for the Pats to be destroyed, particularly Brady. Most sane Jets fans would agree with this. Petty inter-city jealousies mean nothing in this context.

edit: a good example is the '86 World Series. As a Yankee fan, I'm apathetic towards the Mets at best but damn it gave me great pleasure to see the Sox blow it.

After watching that replay again, it pretty much reconfirmed my take on the play.

That's not a gimme, his momentum was taking him out of bounds. He jumped early to catch it in bounds.

I always thought the Merriweather play later in the drive was the better chance of an interception.

I lost a post. Thought I made it here and now I cant find it!

jnc

Ok found it!!

Knapp leaves Texans for the OC job in Oakland. Manning pretty much says he is leaving Indy the same day.

The only logical conclusion? Manning to Texans to coach himself!

If the Giants win Sunday we can kind of maybe start thinking about comparing it to the 83 class.

I dunno if people will ever consider 2004 over 1983. But it'll be funny the day its said and done if they are similar amount of Super Bowls and 2004 trounces 1983. 83' finished 2-8, 04' will be 3-2 or 4-1 after Sunday.
