Can anyone tell me if Ticket to Ride is any good? I've never played the board game and saw they added multiplayer in an update. Is it easy to learn how to play?

It's extraordinarily easy to play, but still strategic and competitive. Usually takes me about five minutes to teach new players the ins and outs. The iPad version is my most played app by a mile. Check youtube for how to play videos if you want more info.

I don't know if this makes it worth $4.99 to you but, like everyone has said, it's much, much better than the first game and it's a lot more fun to play than Death Rally too.

This is kind of what I was wanting to hear. Are you playing on iPad or iPhone?

I wish more of you would play Frederic: Resurrection of Music. It's like a cyberpunk reggae techno piano version of Guitaroo Man starring Frederic Chopin.

Reckless Racing 2 keeps crashing on my un'JB iPad 2. Anyone else keep getting kicked out? I've restarted the device but still does it.

Yeah there is mp (I don't have the game, mind you), but from what I've read you'll have to spend cash to get cards to build competitive decks.

I've read nothing but bitching and moaning about ubi servers and service.

This review gives a good overview :

According to the version update notes (before iTunes craped itself) You get like 500 free in game credits each day. So you can buy a booster pack for free every 2 days i think.

Or i could be completely wrong.

Everyone go look at the #2 app on the app store right now - Temple Jump - how does something like this even happen?

No pictures, 1.5-star review.. yet that crappy dev is outselling everything but Where's My Water?.

I saw that on Twitter earlier. Just look at their catalog.

Because the guy's selling scam game apps... he has "Temple Jump" (Temple Run), "Angry Ninja Birds" (from Angry Birds), "Plants vs. Zombie" (priced at 2.99$!!)

I guess he's making s***loads of money right now, scamming App Store users.
Apple should have really spotted it in the first place though!

it is pretty brilliant though.

You'd think people would at least glance at reviews these days.

Still am surprised that you see those bullshit battery saving/fingerprint scanning/security apps on the top 10 every once in a while.

It pisses me off!!!

It's like that developer 'Top Best Adult Entertainment', they have like 4 games in the Aussie app store top 100, with games like Mooncraft, Tamagotchi, EclipseCraft...

How do Apple let these scam artists publish this crap, it's 1000% obvious they're scam apps with the absolute minimum content in them. The screenshots and descriptions are always 100% misleading, surely that's enough to not let them through...

I mean I've never bought one because I'm not an idiot, but there are loads of Kids on the app store with credits to spend.

This is my biggest problem with the iOS scene. There is so much garbage out there.. it just devalues the whole concept. They need a much, much stingier approval process.

Agreed. And I've seen how they can get stingy when they want, they just do it with the wrong apps!

Btw guys, I'm making an iPad/iPhone game with a friend, and we created a crowdfunding campaign to support its development: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tinycolossus/ufho2-a-turn-based-strategy-game
We've done what we can to spread the word, but now we're really near the deadline and not too much on target... If anybody likes the game, help us make it, please.

Maybe in 5-6 months we'll be talking in this thread about it! (hopefully not like the SpryFox/6waves matter :D)

They also changed it so you can fight AI opponents repeatedly for more credits. Before you could only get credits for your first win against them. Though this only applies to the enemies you face after clearing story mode.

The approval process is shit on IOS. Apple basically ask for and check for 2 things:

-Does your app crashes my phone?
-Does your app content respect the age rating?

Both yes = approved.

I wonder how many refunds he has to pay out though. Don't Apple still keep their 30% if someone asks for a refund?

Hey everyone! Finally got my account verified, just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the entertainment and tips on iOS games you guys have provided me with over the past few months. Damn just read the last few pages and I guess I missed the GC deal at Best Buy.

Anyways what I was originally posting.. There is a free version of Terra Noctis out. Not sure if it's a demo/IAP version or something, but it's a MUST TRY/BUY

What's 450 yen in US dollaru?

Are there more games like Elder Sign: Omens HD that kinda give an interesting replayable RPG-ish feeling than just plain board game moving pawns about with see-through rules etc vibes?

Oh god, can't wait for it! Best news of the day!

Did anyone ever find out why some people can't access the Scribblenauts DLC? People at Touch Arcade seemed to suggest it was a regional thing. Has anyone in the UK been able to buy the DLC?

I've ported my Global Game Jam entry "The Last Flight of the Bumble Bee" to the iPad. It's available now for free on the App Store.

Download the game for Windows, Mac or iPad and get the source code here:

The source code is released under a creative commons license, which means you're free to use it in your own commercial games if you wish. It's made with the Torque2D engine, so you'll need Torque to be able to use the source.

I'm really hooked up on Ghost Trick. The port is ok (the videos aren't full res, though) but the rest of the graphics just look really good. I like the art style.

Gameplaywise ist seems to be a adventure with an interesting story and fun gameplay. I'm currently in chapter 3 and I'm excited to see how the story continues.

I also tried Reckless Racing 2 and it looks gorgeous and the controls are really well done. I see myself spend a lot of time with it after I beat Ghost Trick.

That's true. You can get UP to 500 credits per day. It's not that hard to do though. You get 50 for a win and 10 for a loss.

There are 2 types of boosters. Cards are divided into 2 factions, Templars and Assassins. There's no difference in power, but Assassin cards do give you access to some more advanced tactics (however the 2 best agents in the game are Templars). There's a huge difference in price though.

Templar packs (12 cards, 1 rare, 3 uncommon) cost 100 credits and Assassin packs (same distribution) are 900 credits. Are assassin cards 9 times better? Not by a long shot, so when you're starting out get Templar packs only. After you have enough Templar cards you can start to buy Assassin packs (which you will need to be truly competitive).

Alternatively you can get mixed packs for 500 if you like to gamble. (50/50 chance on getting templars or assassin cards, for each card). It may be a good idea to get the assassin commons and uncommons which are very useful (and probably more important that the rares as far as deck building on a budget).

Multiplayer is a blast IMO, but be aware that if you start playing now you are at a disadvantage compared to people who've been playing since the game came out. I know people that haven't put a single cent in, but just getting the daily credits, plus the stuff you get in the single player (like 5000 credits, maybe more) have pretty competitive decks already.

In any case if you just wanna have fun, there's really no need to put money on the game. 5 Boosters a day is quite a bit.

Issue with Scribblenauts Remix: I still can't buy the new levels in the level select screen although I redownloaded the game and have the latest version. (iPhone 4S + iPad 1 + latest iOS version)

Chaos Rings Omega is a prequel to the first right? So should I play Omega first, then the first game? Or should I play them in release order?

This is not true: I've seen an app rejected because there was a cartoon girl drawn from behind, and you could see a bit of the underwear from under the pants: REJECTED
Also, another app wanted to give all the proceedings to a charity: REJECTED (you can do it, but you cannot write that in the app or on the App Store)
An app I made myself read a feed of news from an indie game website (Indievault), and Apple rejected it because one of the news was a simple contest IV was making internally. They said you can't put contest in apps, and you cannot use Apple products as a prize, something we were not doing anyway: REJECTED (for this one, by the time we resubmitted the news was old so it didn't show in the app anymore: APPROVED :D)

There are a lot of legal things, and also I guess it depends on the single person that reviews the app... how does he feel that day.

Of course they check the legal things. Also, my answer was a parody anyways. It's too illustrate that Apple's approval are like the less severe in the history of approvals. ;)
