Even better. There's no internal storage, right? I'd need to get one of those memory cards? How large have the file sizes been for the games so far?
From under a gig to just over 3 gigs.

It might actually be a small courtesy to owners, given you apparently can't copy save files off of a physical cart. Unless that ended up being wrong, in which case there's still the angle of it possibly being MUCH cheaper/secure to make one read-only cart rather than a mixed read only/flash data cart. The hilarious part I've found out today was that those games that require memory cards to save...only need 64mb. When you consider how flash memory for the games are either 2gb or 4gb cards, it's ridiculous that a game like Uncharted which is clearly under 4gb can't allocate 64mb for saves.

If every game did that like the PSP, then I'd understand. But only certain games require a memory card so I really don't know what they were thinking.

Did the PS3 games do that too? Itagaki DID abhor the idea of modding his games and may well feel NOT locking saves would enable cheating, but I could see the rest of Team Ninja not caring with him gone. Then again, they might just have a dumb hang up there.some publishers probably see that as a form of protection in a way, wouldn't surprise me if Ninja Gaiden saves to the cart given the console versions utilize locked saves
Or at least make it so every game that allows on card saves CAN support memory cards too, and you are able to set which is the default if available. Locking saves is the big reason it's a problem, otherwise it'd be a relatively minor nuisance.yeah, i would've liked an all or none approach. No need for memorycards to save, or all games need memorycard save. This just makes it unnessicerly complicated.
I got my PDP Logitech type Case for the Vita today. IT IS HUGE. I was not expecting it to be that big. But I have not seen a Vita in person yet so I'm going to be surprised. It is a really great case I'm looking at what to put in for the picture. Probably Golden Abyss art

When will the PC Data transfer software go online ?
Do Lumines or Hot Shots require a memory card?
As private companies, video game manufacturers cannot fine retailers. They can stop selling products through that retailer, though. That will rarely happen since it isn't worth losing all of those sales to preserve a street date.Though I thought if a store sold a product before the street date, they paid a hefty fine for that?
Nope, Media Go doesn't work with the Vita.So do we still need media go or what?
Yep. I'm thinking of getting Lumines and Rayman. Being able to play my PSP games on the Vita will also be nice. This question goes out to those guys who imported a Vita or live in Japan and got one at launch...Do you plan on getting any of the US launch titles?
Actually, Android phones use the same battery tech as the iphone. Lithium Ion batteries are the standard for most consumer electronics. The PSP was equipped with a Lithium Ion battery and the Vita is no different. Here are some tips from Wiki:
"Prolonging battery pack life
Avoid deep discharge and instead charge more often between uses, the smaller the depth of discharge, the longer the battery will last.
Avoid storing the battery in full discharged state. As the battery will self-discharge overtime, its voltage will gradually lower, and when it is depleted below the low-voltage threshold (2.4 to 2.9 V/cell, depending on chemistry) it cannot be charged anymore because the protection circuit (a type of electronic fuse) disables it.
Lithium-ion batteries should be kept cool; they may be stored in a refrigerator.
The rate of degradation of Lithium-ion batteries is strongly temperature-dependent; they degrade much faster if stored or used at higher temperatures."
I did some research when I first bought my PSP because I had heard conflicting reports of battery care. Ni-cad batteries do have a memory and it is better to discharge completely before charging. Probably the only place you will find Ni-cads any more are in cordless power tools, and even they are slowly changing over to Lithium.
Lithium batteries, the kind of batteries in cell/smart phones, Vita, MP3 players, laptops, etc., will last longer if you keep them fully charged as much as possible. Just charge them whenever you get the chance, no matter how much battery life is left. I did this with my PSP launch unit and the battery lasted for about 3 years of fairly heavy use. In fact, the battery didn't take a crap until I stopped charging it regularly and occasionally charged it after it had drained from sitting around. Hope this helps.
Largest game has been 2.7 gig for Uncharted.
You need to have the Japanese account active for most of them.Question for those who have imported one.
Can you download Demos from the Japanese PS.Store and play them on your US account? Can you just transfer them over even though the region of your Vita is not the same as the Demo or do you have to be on your Japanese account to play them?
Rayman preordered from Play-Asia, before Ubi announced the Jp. release date and crazy low price. This question goes out to those guys who imported a Vita or live in Japan and got one at launch...Do you plan on getting any of the US launch titles?
Nope, Media Go doesn't work with the Vita.
Which is a bit sad, since you can't download stuff from PSN using the Vita CM.
Not sure if this is the right thread to post it in but does anyone know what my trade in value would be for an:
XBOX 360 4g w/Kinect w/Kinect Adventures
Alan Wake
Gears of War Triple Pack
Mass Effect
Lost Odyssey
Civilization Revolution
Yoostar (unopened)
Was thinking since I don't use my 360 I might as well trade it in toward a vita but I've only seen psp trade in deals.
In NYC by the way.

Ok I have a few questions that im confused with and im sure they have been asked a bunch of times.
1.at launch sony said with ps3 4.0 you can
play ps3 games, and if that is even true can you play all ps3 games? I thought that was the big thing that I can play like skyrim call of duty ect ect...
2.when transfering files with content manager to pc can I take the whole game and remove it from the memory card leaving me more space for more games and put the game on the PC?
