I hope they start paying attention to portables again once Vita is released. PS+ has been great for PS3, but lousy for PSP.

It's a great value for the free games alone. The discounts have been pretty solid as well. I've only been a member for 2 months and I'd say I've already got the full year price out of it.

I knew that they wouldn't get the full plus update out in time. SCEE has some kind of aura of failure around them.
 
Ok, just grabbed PS +. For the cloud saving thing - I have two PS3s, one in the bedroom and one in the living room, is there a way to save directly to the cloud so that I don't have to copy my saves over to the cloud folder whenever I want to play on one system or the other?

No, from a game you can only save to the hard drive. You can set up automatic update to sync your saves to the cloud once a day.

You can select it to auto save to the cloud when your system auto updates.

Yeah, I saw that feature. Will my PS3 turn on at the time selected and perform all of these functions? I wasn't too sure how that was supposed to work.

Yep, does it all at once.

I usually leave my downloads for this period too, as it downloads and installs them.

Crazy. I'm liking PS + already. Doesn't hurt that I'm downloading the Syphon Filter Trilogy for shits and giggles. I know they're gone if I decide not to renew in a year but I probably wouldn't have bought them anyways.

This could be great when PS1 games come to Vita.

Edit: Why does it need me to reserve a two hour block of time?

Yeah, those minis and PS1 games I've accumulated from Plus that look like ass on my HDTV will be perfect for the Vita. Hopefully PS1 support won't take too long or I'll be seriously pissed.

I've also experienced it not turning on right at the start of the window. I've seen it start 30 minutes into the window. I guess it's to balance out server load a bit.

Yeah mine rarely ever turns itself on when it should. Sometimes it stays on longer than it should too. Not sure why, but as long as it means i don't have to see game update screens, i ain't complaining

Welp that sucks. I was going to put the $15 towards PSN+ instead of purchasing Costume Quest. I missed out on a good deal in October then lol!
 
So I've always assumed that 100% discount meant "free forever" for EU people. (We don't generally get free games described that way here in the U.S.) Is that not true?

When I couldn't get my PSP online recently I lost access to my "100% discount" minis, so I'm assuming it's the same but with different wording. As soon as I got the PSP online it refreshed the subscription date and all was well.

I believe James Thorpe once said they aren't allowed to describe them as "free" since you have to pay for a subscription. So they go for !00% discount" instead

Holy shit this month is amazing... That's a crap ton of "free" stuff.

The last month was amazing too, as was the month before that.

This service has quickly become absolutely fantastic. I could not be happier dropping XBL for this.
 
I've been a PS+ member for almost a year now, and I think it's been well worth it.

I got a ton of free games that I actually planned on buying, but for whatever reason, never got around too, and I got some great discounts on games as well.

I wanted to buy Rochard and Pixel Junk Sidescroller, but didn't get a chance to when it released, and lo and behold, they had a sale on them, and I bought both for $9.87 total, instead of $9.99 each.

I definitely think it's a good service that has improved since it's inception, and I'll be renewing for sure when my time is up in a month.

Can ya just confirm something for me. If i'm subscribed to PS+ and download one of the free games say Far cry2 or the simpsons arcade game on the right day in that month. Is that available to me all the time on my PS3 until my subscription ends or just till the last day of that month. Still a bit confused how it works.

Yep. People who have been subscribed from day one have accumulated dozens of games already that are all playable until subscription ends.

gonna get all these. That alone more than covers the $20 I paid for the year sub, not counting everything else i've gotten so far. I feel like I've gotten more out of my PS+ sub than my 7 year XBL Gold sub, except in the first few years or so where I actually played online a lot and couldn't access any Xbox 1 online content without it.

Yep! Also Syphon Filter series and all of BTTF titles available or this week added even more value. Love me some Syphon Filter!
