Placed my order on Amazon.fr.

8GB memory card for free, 20 euro discount on console. Hori screenprotector for 7 eur. Total 239 EUR with free shipping.

Can someone confirm if the pre-order pack will be sent to me too? It's confusing. I guess not since it sells for 20 euro seperately, and it didn't appear on my order.

Now the real wait begins.. damn!

For you, I think that was the better choice. Did you decide if you were going to get a Vita yet? Or are you on the fence still?

Yeah, I'm in for the wifi model. I haven't preordered any games, though. I'll do download or wait for price drops on a few titles. In the meantime I'm going to give Monster Hunter another chance with the second analog stick.

Is there a specific reason Phantasy Star 2 Portable isn't compatible with Vita right now?

No Idea, I think Keii said he contacted Sega JP and they said that the problem was on Sony's side and that they were looking into it?

I should have bought it when I could have the month before they took it down.

I hope they are actually looking into it and working to fix it. I NEEEED me my PSP2. Hell, ignore PSP2 and port PSP2i instead. <3 As if...

So I'm getting Wipeout, but I'm wondering if Hot Shots is right for me.

I've played a few rounds right when I got my PS3 because it was an exclusive, but I didn't play it a ton. Are there new features or modes people are looking forward to? I played a lot of NES open back in the day, but that was the day.

Same thing happened with the Show. I got it, it was cool, but I'm just not a huge baseball guy even though that game seemed like a great package. It's tempting to get it again with new hardware, but I think I learned my baseball video game lesson.

i don't like sports games, but i've always really enjoyed hot shots. is there a demo on the store? there might be a hot shots demo for one of the psp games that you could try.

Did you enjoy/did you play Mario Golf? Hot Shots is a series that plays more like an arcade golfer versus a sim (ala Tiger Woods). I didn't get my hands on the Hot Shots demo, but if it's anything like the rest of the series, Mario Golf is the best Nintendo comparison I can come up with.

Phantasy Star is still on the UK PSN. Does anybody know if this means it will be playable on Vita with a UK account? I'm buying some PSP games to play on Vita and it interests me.

I have the same question for FIFA. Never played one before, but am thinking of getting it for Vita. Kid is taking up soccer. Reckon the game should give him a broader perspective of soccer (More like just kicking a ball around anyway).

They don't need to be upgraded because the emulator takes care of that and you can just map the controls for any game, here watch this vid :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUdlCLi2o64

Yes you can map buttons to the second analog stick for all games. It's part of the emulation features.

Thanks! Already have a few games, thinking of adding God Eater or P3P.
Still need to decide between Shinbido, Rayman origins, and lumines as my day one retail purchases..

Hot Shots is amazing. It totally blows away every other golf game in terms of technical depth, Fun Factor, and amount of content. I know some of that sounds weird to say for a cartoony game, but it's way deeper than that. It, along with Lumines, are literally the reasons I'm picking up a Vita. Just a top-class series.

Nah, Keii(Japanese Vita owner and big PSP fan) did say that the games were not present on the Vita store front so basically they weren't supported for a reason (Probably because the emulator is still a work in progress) .

Gravity Daze is Vita's Folklore confirmed.

30k first (likely to be only) shipment in Japan.

Disgustingly low. I hope this game finds a following in the west. I think it has a pretty good chance once word gets out about it's structure which is more open world rpg then linear action game (which I think most people consider it). It will never be a hit but come on, it looks so good! The only complaint I've seen about it is long load times

Now where is the Vita's Majin and the Foresaken Kingdom :P

Tell me about it. That co-op vid got me excited.

Unit 13 and Gravity Daze are the only two Vita games I really want right now. I like the idea of Unit 13's daily challanges and such. Honestly I'm more excited to get back to some PSP games then I am vita games since I've been PSP-less since middle of last year. PSP in 2012 is looking nice too. Black rock shooter and Grand Knights History come to me, the Vita awaits!

Ok, I was under the impression that it was a regional licensing issue. I guess I'll hold off on Phantasy Star until it works on Vita.

Any word on PSone classic support at the Western Vita launch?

Sony claimed they'd announce something "soon" regarding a target back in November, but I haven't seen anything.

Daily challenges? Tell me more!

I'm playing the Everybody's Golf PSP demo and it may convince me to get EG on Vita instead of Wipeout. For a golf game it is really fun.

Am I right in thinking that the 'region lock' only limits which PSN account you can use with the system rather than the software? I'm hoping to play a combination of Japanese and UK titles and so figure I'll link it to my Japanese PSN account and download the Japanese games, then just use retail copies of the UK titles.

Yes but remember your memory card/saves are tied to your PSN account so I am thinking the best way to do it is have a memory card for each PSN login. I know its a pain but it works.

Your sarcasm is obvious :P While not the most original idea out there I enjoy games that focus on shorter levels with high replayability focusing on different classes and strategies. Adding in a daily element with leaderboards to guide me towards trying different things looks nice, even better if this game gains any traction on GAF so I have people to compete with. I don't really know too much about the game but everything I've seen has me interested. Certainly more so then any other shooter on the Vita. I always thought shooters would make ideal handheld games given how I like to play them but the controls have yet to be up to par. I really did like Medal of Honor on the PSP though.

Plus the game's artstyle blows on my XIII boner just enough to make it rise up and pay attention.

Man we need a new XIII, and not that iphone one.

Pretty sure we're going to be having a Hot Shots thread and little mini-tournaments like we used to back in the day for HSG on the PS3 in case that helps sway anyone. :p

Wipeout looks really awesome too. I'm definitely getting both.

My current lineup is:

WiFi FEB with Little Deviants (preordered/paid and will pick up next week)
Uncharted (Already have it)
Wipeout (Already have it)
Hot Shots/Everybody's Golf (Might grab it today)
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom (preordered/paid and will pick up next week)

Grabbing Super Stardust off of PSN at launch too.

Any news on stores selling games today? Looking for something/anything new to play on my imported system!!!

What country?

I just got to play this bad boy at Gamestop....

I am pretty much blown away. I always dreamed of a handheld like this, the buttons and anologue sticks are fantastic, the dpad feels 100% better then the PSP or even the DS3 dpad :o

The Oled screen is DEAD sexy, games I tried out was Wipeout 2048 and VT4, both very impressive. The design of the Vita reminds me of my Sony HX909 local dimming tv, I love it!

I was on the fence getting one on launch BUT after seeing it in person and trying it, its a must buy for me.

If this system doesnt do well.... something is not right with current gamers :P

What PSN games that I have on my PS3 can I download to the Vita?? Is there a list?

from Kotaku:

Sony has told Kotaku that there will not be a North American version of the UMD Passport program, which would allow PlayStation Vita users to transfer their PSP discs to the upcoming handheld.

lol

This may have just convinced me :p

It looks like I'm going with Uncharted, Fifa, Virtua Tennis and Hot Shots at launch. I'll probably trade Virtua Tennis in though, it was just the best game in the Amazon bundle.

That D-Pad will hopefully be great for fighting games. Looking forward to UMvsC on my PSV. Might grab Darkstalkers PSP for it too.

As I understand, all PSP games on PSN can be played on Vita. But if you have already downloaded them before the last firmware update, you'll need to redownload them. PS3 will sync them over to Vita. However these new PSP downloads will remain as "install bubbles" on the PS3.

[I just realize here we have bubbles on PS3, like the bubbles on Vita Home Screen -- Rage~]

Wait, they actually show up as Bubbles on the PS3 now?

I was told it's the standard install bubbles on PS3. The ones we already have since PS3 launched. Probably more accurate to call it "install capsule".

This lack of confidence by Sony is really confusing/disheartening.

All I can think of is that they are not sure they can sell a new IP on a new handheld console that's not from Ninty.

Is this Square-Enix's call or Sony's call ? Gravity Rush is a SE game right ?

EDIT: Ah, SCE is the publisher.

The game's not doing well in terms of preorders (based on the completely non-appearance on Comgnet) and Folksoul completely cratered on PS3 in a similar stage in its life.

No. It's an SCEJ title developed by Team Siren.
