Played a really fun game today. We got dominated at the start of it and they had a naix, sf and brood with amazing farm. They got all the towers outside our base before we got our first from them, so they had a 20k gold lead. That's when we got some amazing team fights and I ended up getting a rampage as windrunner. That's when the gold graph started to tip down and we got some nice items. We ended up winning after 60min and it felt so good doing such a good comeback. It was also the top live match with over 200 spectators which made it even more fun

Looks good to me. One game I watched was where Milk was playing against bulba demon and some other NAdota kids. Bulba went 33-2 20 minutes in and Milk's sniper went 6 bracers. True story.

Also, watching a random steam on the Joindota broadcasters, this Bliz guy is making me rage. He doesn't seem to be bad, but he makes so many sloppy mistakes (Playing as BH, and trolling with getting Dagon). Why get the courier to buy an eagle song from your secret shop when you just destroyed the Dire T2 Mid tower, and are 10 feet away from their secret shop, and you are just going to walk to your jungle and farm up the easy camp? Why get a Ghost Scepter first when you can buy Eagle song and are going for Ethereal Blade for reasons, and never use the active of Ghost Scepter once (Plus, he was dying to stuns, Ghost Scepter isn't going to fix that). Why waste Dagon when you can finish off the person with your Shuriken which is up. Gah.

Not all the components for items are available from the secret shop, some you have to buy from the base shop or the side shop. If you buy a whole item while at the secret shop, it will automatically buy the components that aren't in the secret shop from the base shop and put them in your stash. To complete the item you just need to get the components out of your stash.

The issue is if you have a full inventory and 2 or more components are in the shop, it won't auto complete when you go back to your fountain, you have to drop or stash items to be able to pick up all the components and complete the item, then pick the items back up.

How do I fight against mages as skeleton king? I hate them to death, they wreck me at the start of the game but once I get my money rolling in, I can stun them and usually get them to 25% hp before they escape.

Here's an example of mages destroying us but we ended up coming back once I got my items.

Soul Ring for an extra "free" stun (you'll get the health back with vampiric aura anyway, but be careful about skilling that early because your lane creeps will get the buff as well [and may end up pushing the lane]). Force Staff later on, if closing a gap is proving problematic.

Also some defensive item options you can consider:

Cloak (+15% magic resistance) [550 Gold],

Hood of Defiance (+30% magic resistance, +8 HP regeneration) [2,125 Gold]

With a support grabbing a Pipe of Insight, or you with the game you were having:

(+30% magic resistance, +11 HP/sec Regeneration, active ability is a 400 magic damage shield that activates on all friendly heroes within range of the activation) [3,628 Gold].

I'm going to throw a crazy prediction that part of the reason an extra week was taken was to finish all the sleeping animations for Bane. So I think it will be Bane. If they decide to double up (which I doubt), then I'm going to call Bane and Templar Assassin.

I would suggest Venomancer.

His gale isn't too hard to hit enemies with, you can use your venom wards near your lane to spot incoming ganks, he is extremely powerful, he doesn't need items, he can get early game kills, he's one of the best harassers, teams do not rely on you to carry them.

My favored build on venomancer is ring of aquilas (provided no one else on your team is getting basilus), vanguard, aghanims and power treads (set to strength). Venomancer is a popular target for focus fire in pub games, he needs lots of health to survive team fights.

You want to get your ult off on as many people as you can (same with gale), and harass people as much as you can. An early ring of health can cement your lane dominance.

I usually max w first if I'm in a lane with a carry and harass the enemy, first point in q, 4th level point in E. If you're in a solo lane put one point in q then pump your wards first (also works with a pushing team). Venomancer is insanely good solo long lane.

Sven is also a good starter hero, has little item dependance, not hard to play, is also fun to play.

Sleeping is a special kind of disable, so it needs its own animation, like stun.

By the time I did my own thing I decided to put 1 point early in aura but then I noticed the drawbacks so I always go stun+stats at start. Now people are fucking yelling at me for going stun+stats. I actually try to explain how it pushes lane in early game and isn't that useful anyways at super low levels and they go "this guys retarded" and it fucking makes me rage inside.

It's bad early game since it makes farming harder for you as you have to fight near their tower.

Lane pushing early is bad because the carry in question now has to farm further away from the safety of his tower. A Skeleton King who whales on creeps and pushes the lane well before level 6 is begging to be slapped down. And I'd wager that BHK3's win had far more to do with Bloodseeker's farm (2nd highest CS, highest kills, great items) and involvement than SK getting a few items in the form of a Basher and Crystalis. Lina and Sniper's involvement seemed to be more influential as well (just look at how many assists they have, 2nd and 3rd highest in the game, their GPM and XPPM aren't shabby either).
