The only minis I have in my account that are Vita compatible are PS Plus freebies, so far none work. My friend is seeing the same thing but he has one mini that he purchased and that one is working for him.

The error code is C1-2858-3...screen shot coming if anyone cares.

Ugh, that really really blows.

Even better, for those that are not picky about the case, there appears to be a alternative starter kit? It includes a carrying case, game card case, screen protector, and a cleaning cloth for $24.99.

I saw that and couldn't tell if that was from Sony or a third party. I can't find any other info on it or another place that stocks it either. Wish I could see in better detail of how those items look.

Yes.

In short, here's the breakdown of things you're getting out of the box for people that are confused. (This doesn't include that the free AT&T Data Pass and free game that both systems get after you activate the 3G)

$299 3G/WIFI Launch Bundle - Includes 3G/WIFI Unit, 8GB Memory Card (2/22)
$349 First Edition Bundle - Includes 3G/WIFI Unit, 4GB Memory Card, Little Deviants, and Official Case. (2/15)

Do we know how the data plan works? Can I just sign up for the free month or whatever and get the game? Will the data plan continue until you cancel or do you just get the free month and then 3G stops working?

Yeah, there is no contract. It's month by month. The thing terminates after one month if you don't pay.

No you have to sign up for one month, get the game ($15 dollar value apparently) and then you get a month free after your first month is done.

yup - that's my take on it. Can't see why most the games on the list -wouldn't- be up but... you know...

it's SCEA...

So my Amazon.ca order shipped today (Wi-Fi only version), I'll try and post impressions tomorrow if I can find a store that sells memory cards and games...

Speaking of which, anyone in Canada found accessories / games in stores ?

Awesome news for you! But sadness for me... I ordered the First Edition through Amazon.ca and it hasn't shipped, and they say it will arrive on February 23rd or later. Hopefully, they correct that, because I'd be a little pissed if this bundle is supposed to arrive a week early and I end up getting it the day after the damn thing is officially out.

I hope I get an email tomorrow telling me it shipped... I'll be a happy guy.

Niiiiiiiiiice.

So, apparently, Turbo Tax has a glitch in their system and filers won't see refunds until further notice.

That sure makes crosses out a few games off my list for now.

That really sucks ... Lucky that I decided to just go to HRnBlck after starting to do it on turbo tax.

If you want, sears.ca is also showing the Wi-Fi edition as in-stock. Maybe you can try ordering there, and canceling your amazon.ca order if sears ship first ?

Yeah but I filed on 3rd, got accepted on 6th and IRS website can't even find any records of my filing. :/

Anyway, was a mini rant. Did not mean to go off-topic. Apologies.

EDIT: I guess I should check back 72 hours after return was accepted. Oops.

No worries. I only knew this because I was one of the people hit with the glitch, and am still waiting on my return. :(

I know it's a lot of money but I am a little annoyed that there is no 32gb card on sale in the UK yet, I hate the thought of buying an 8 or 16gb and filling it up in half a years time.

I'm buying a 4gb at £15 for the time being until a 32gb is available. It really isn't worth paying £39.99 for the 16gb. Waaaay too expensive.

Thanks!

If you want, sears.ca is also showing the Wi-Fi edition as in-stock. Maybe you can try ordering there, and canceling your amazon.ca order if sears ship first ?

It'd be incredible if we could just order through a Canadian site like that.

Just called Sears.ca. No can do. I might have a Canadian friend send me one.

PS3 removed backward compatibility for PS2
Wii removed backward compatibility for GC and doesn't work with N64, SNES, or NES carts
360 doesn't have backward compatibility
3DS won't play my GBA, GBC, GB games
DS won't play my GBA, GBC, GB games

3DS plays DS games, and DS/DS Lite do play GBA games.

It's crummy that Nintendo removed BC from the new Wiis, but at least they did it at the end of the system's life cycle rather than the beginning like Sony did with the PS3's PS2 BC.

It could be argued that BC is more of a big deal at the beginning of a platform's life because it gives people games to play during the lackluster initial months, making more people likely to buy early on.

That said, Sony's doing the best they can with the situation they got themselves into last handheld gen.

I'm sitting here looking at screen protectors.

$10 for 2?

:(

They're so hard to put on right. I know I'll mess up more than twice trying to get the thing on :(

When I first bought my PSP I messed up a pack and ended up not putting a screen protector on any of the 3 I own.

I went through like 3 packs of screen protectors for my Cowon S9. And one of the corners is messed up and it's a little crooked, but it's the best I could do. I hate this touch based future!

I think I understand now why 1.60 makes the blue PS button glow whenever the machine is on...it's because it wasn't clear before when the machine was in full sleep mode. I'm downloading some stuff in the background and the light is still on to let me know it's still performing the download...

So much misinformation and confusion floating around regarding PSP games on Vita. I just want to receive my FEB to see if I can just copy over my install bubble games that are sitting on my PS3.

I'd look into the HORI screen protector then. I know with the one they made for 3DS it has a system for putting it on that's built into the screen protector that made it pretty much foolproof. Now I'm not too sure if the one they have for Vita is going to use the same application method.

I ordered my wifi Vita on amazon.ca in the morning and they charged my card but it has yet to ship. Says it will arrive on the 14th.

I've given up on screen protectors around the time the PSP-2000 came out. I even mess up protectors with "easy application" technology. If they released protectors that came with little robots that perfectly applied them on for me, then maybe I'll consider them again.

I just copied Wild Arms XF and Legend of Heroes: Trails of the Sky from my PS3, no problems at all.

Speaking of which, anyone in Canada found accessories / games in stores ?

I live near vancouver and picked up my copies of uncharted and hot shots from eb games :)

Interesting. It's like $7 for one, but if it's really foolproof (I'm really foolish!), I'd totally go for it. But release date is the 22nd. I'd have to go several weeks without a screen protector.

I would if this wasn't a touch device. Finger prints bother me a lot.
Like every screen protector ever says it's easy to put on, but it never is! Those liars!
