It's a show that's literally made of trash.
Derpy Crown 16: Haha oh wow. King Shu is a terrible tyrant. Can't even follow through properly.
Poor Shu's mom having to put up with all this nonsense.
Yahiro making his agenda go through by lying to Shu how unsurprising. Inori showing them Mana tendencies, Gai being revived, Shu being crappy again, poor random girl gets her void crushed and dies, Shu is so surprised this, ugh the list just goes on and on.

Ai, always thinking practically.
There was a little more strategy when the humans joined the battle as compared to last episode, but it soon became one big chain of "I got knocked down but I get up again!" which I find less interesting. The ending, while inconclusive, managed to not be anticlimactic.

Nah, Madoka was clearly a show about
'bad stuff happening to people, and then worse stuff happening then that' so in most people's eyes I'm sure it could get away with anything.

What better way to save a budget than to find a a room with no actual definition and only two colors. Not even a field can compete. and as for this tourney, I'm coming to my breaking point. It's the ROBERT'S 10. 10. Why are there 4 more?

That was actually one of the more interesting of fights, oddly enough. I didn't think of it initially, but having a character like Ai in there basically required that it be a game of wits instead of THE POWER TO TURN BEADS INTO BOMBS again and again.

Kabura wasn't supposed to have an actual attack to his power? They said this in. just. the. last. ep. But now he shoots shuriken from his wings. I am getting trolled. I am getting fucking trolled. That's what this is. Also, he has no limiter on his power? The next fight is definitely coming to a draw. They're not cutting

Stole the episode.
My god, did the first part of the episode just dragged and dragged on. More emotions, more internal ramblings and instrumental stationary buying!
Then, Mr. BDSM appears and all hell breaks loose. He made this episode into something enjoyable and even got his own ED.
I also thought that this was going to be really stupid but it ended up being pretty amusing. I liked the ED credits.

I don't think it's likely. There's lots of 'anime fandom' around but how often do those same fans even care about stuff like who directed what show, or even paying for content that they enjoy.

This entire scene was awesome. I wish she didn't take back what she said!
They'll take every chance they get to make Nako look seductive.
At this point it doesn't seem likely that i'll encounter any romance in the show. Still fun to watch, though.

They're unrelated. Mazinkaiser SKL doesn't really have that much of a plot either, it barely matters.

Ueki gets all the lame talents.
As this episode is transitioning into the second half of the show, it spends most of its time establishing the new villain and just how evil he is. He's so evil, he finds a treasured pendant for an old widow and breaks it in front of her eyes! He's so evil, he doesn't just kick the dog, he throws it onto an electrical tower! Now that's evil.

I watched the OVA, you know. It's a completely different relationship born from completely different situations. You can't really use the OVA characterization or development to justify the events of the TV show since Mato's character is the only part of the TV show remotely similar to its OVA counterpart:

I don't think i posted about it here but Derpa 13 is great. Absolutely amazing.
Derpa had all the magic elements that makes a trashy show a financial success. It must some kind of cruel twist of fate that this moeblob show, of all the moeblob shows out there, had to fall flat on its face sales-wise.
